The WESTAR-35c Particle Blaster Pistol was the newest innovation to spawn from the minds of the Mandalorian Artisan’s who formed the core of the Mythosaur Forgeworks. As the Sons of Mandalore took the steps towards reclaiming their homeland, their warriors were in need of weapons that would level the playing field. Especially when they would be facing off against the might of Dark Wizards who wielded the mystical powers of the Force, with fearsome weapons at their command. As a result, the Mandalorian Forgesmith's looked towards the horizon, seeking to push the boundaries of technological frontier. Their desire for something new was great. The weapons they presently had at their disposal weren't enough. It was why they lost once the hammer fell, and were scattered to the solar winds. Thus, it wouldn’t do to return to the centre of their ancestral empire without having learned from their failures.
Taking a hint from the newest initiative of the Republic Engineering Corporation, the Artisans of the Forgeworks elected to harness the unstable nature of Particle Beam technology. As Particle Beam weapons, by their nature, produced an unstable variant of a Blaster’s plasmatic bolt, they would make for the perfect weapon to strike down the Sith, and their ilk. However, while the Particle Beam technology was effective, it wasn’t enough to turn the proverbial tide. Many of the Sith wore body armour that would protect them from the explosive nature of the unstable plasmatic discharge. Meaning that all of their vented fury was all for naught. Unless, something could be done in order to build upon the technology, making it far more effective, and deadly to all that stood in their path.
To achieve their goals, the Forgesmith’s tinkered with the delicate circuitry and upgraded the Galven Patterns within the reinforced barrel. While the various methods of insulation and heat dispersion would counteract much of the weapon’s ancient drawbacks, these enhancements would see to the strengthening of the weapon’s lethality. A considerably more powerful bolt would be produced within the catalytic chamber, and amplified further by ancient Mandalorian innovations. Sure, the maximum range of the weapon would be shortened, thanks to the unstable nature and coherency of the magnetic sheath that was produced. But, that mattered little when the standard, unaugmented bolt could put an explosive round through a ferrocrete wall.
But, even with it’s indescribable power, it still wasn’t enough. The contained plasmatic blade of a Lightsabre would still prove to the salvation of Dark Wizards and their Enlightened Kin. Something needed to be added. To that end, the Forgewright’s oversaw the creation of a specialized variant of Tibanna Gas - the vital component in generating the lethality of modernized energy weapons. This variant would be treated to the same radiation that was utilized in T-33 Plasma Torpedoes, which would seek to disrupt the magnetic containment field of a plasmatic weapon as it detonated at the projected corona. This addition would greatly enhance the weapon’s functionality, as should a Sith, or their enlightened Kin seek to defend themselves - their plasmatic blade would turn against them, and fail when they needed it the most.
In addition, the discharged beams from the WESTAR-35c were capable of rapidly depleting projected deflector screens with relative measures of success. These beams would have greater effect against personal deflector shields, in comparison to their larger and more heavy duty cousins. This radiation would also work to great effect against Molecular and Xythan shielding, as by their nature - they sought to absorb the plasmatic lethality and repurpose it’s deadly energy. As once can imagine, when these specialized and radiation-infused bolts were taken into the deflector screen’s projection matrix - where that radiation would spread throughout the generator’s systems and cause a cascade of failures. Naturally, this was entirely dependent on how durable and rugged the design was of the Projector’s systems, as the results varied, but it remained a possibility nonetheless.
From there, the WESTAR-35c was outfitted with a host of systems and modules that would protect the wielder from the dangers of utilizing the weapon. As many of the internal circuits held the innate danger of overheating, it was countered by the layers of heat-resistant plating and insulation. However, while resistant, that didn’t mean the weapon was impervious to overheating and internal degradation. Should the Warrior wielding this Carbine utilize the Automatic Firing Mode in succession with the Overcharge setting, it was likely that the entire apparatus would overheat and expire. Thus, the Forgesmiths’s hoped that their Warrior-kindred would use strict trigger discipline when out on deployment.
With the WESTAR-35c in hand, the Mandalorians of the Sons of Mandalore, and whatever form they may take afterwards, would have a potent weapon against the Dark Wizards and their supposedly enlightened Kin.
