OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To expand upon the Cossack Storyline of Alsakan that I had been planning and doing for quite a while. Also, to expand on Alsakan, since Alsakan is barely even used, and no one is using it right now. Also intending to use it for eventually having some story involving the Western side of the planet namely. Plus to help make the planet be more interesting. Plus space Cossacks. Who wouldn't want them as mercs?

SETTING INFORMATION
Landmark Name: Western Alsakan
Classification: Mountains, Plains, Valleys
Location: Alsakan
Affiliation: Cossack Hetmans, ruled under a Host System. Each land that belongs to a Cossack is owned by a Host. The leader of all the Hosts is referred to as the Grand Hetman, whom is incharge of all of the Hosts, but effectively, the system is autonomous to the Alsakan Government, being allowed to have much autonomy from the main city on the otherside of the planet.
Size: The other half of Alsakan. So about 50% or so of the general area of the planet.
Population: Sparsely Populated
Demographics: Humans (97%) (Cossacks (86%) Alsakans (19%)), Aliens (3%)
Accessibility: Open to society.
Description: Making up half of the planet's surface, Western Alsakan is considered to be the most lushest of the world, as there is barely any of the city that stretches out there, and is perhaps the most cleanest part of the world, abit less nosier and more secluded from the majour city of Xenvaer, which makes up the rest of the planet to the east. Out here, the Alsakan horse sprawls freely and many people live in more secluded societies. To Alsakans, the lifestyle of the Cossack people are primitive, but the Cossacks are far from primitive, and know how to use many of the current technology. The fact they live a simple life indicates that they seem to rely on a mixture of manual and automatic labour. Horses are revered in the societies, so many of them are seen together with these people allot
POINTS OF INTEREST
Paralla
The Capital of the Hosts, and the more advanced town in the region. Paralla looks similar to how Xenvaer is, but smaller, and less flying vehicles due to the no-air zone enforced in this part of the planet. Paralla is hope to the Great Hetman, inwhich toher Hetmans come to meet in as well. Paralla is an important city due to it's culture and is usually promoted in the Alsakan Tourist Industry.
Vimilei Mountain Range
A large mountain range that makes up allot of the northern and western parts of the planet. This mountain range is among the biggest in Alsakan, and is home to many species and plants on the planet. Barely any people live around here, and is usually used as a point for military use for hiding bases. It is well known for being used in the Clone Wars as a Separatist Outpost, used to sneak attack the Republic.
The Alsakan-Cossack Border
A former border that ran between the two that kept the two separated. This was torn down rather recently in 845ABY after the fall of the One Sith and rights were fully granted to the planetary government. The Border was to help maintain the autonomy of the Cossacks and apart of the signing of the Alsakan Concordance which also enacted a no-fly zone on the other side of the planet.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Prior to Human Arrival, Western Alsakan Killik colonists lived on the Western Area for well over thousands of years until 30,000BBY, where they suddenly disappeared, moving to the Unknown Regions. This history was not really recorded well, but evidence via ruins of old Killik structures can hint at their disappearance, possibly by the Celestials. One Killik was known to becoming a Dark Side user and fled the planet. He was originally from the Western Side.
In 25,000BBY, Humans arrived from Courscant onto the planet of Alsakan. Many humans settled in the east more so in the west, however, and due to this, it caused a division. Many of these western humans whom had a different sounding accent from other Courscanti. The exact origins of these people are unknown, but they are hinted that their planet is somewhere in the Outer Rim and came to Courscant years later. These humans would eventually become apart of this new society in the Western Side. Even still, Alsakan was divided into many Kingdoms and such, and the factions would war on against eachother. Some time later, years ahead, the Eastern Side of the planet had managed to unite under the rule of the King of Archais during the Battle of the Ten Valleys, and became a newly formed nation that would eventually have Alsakan become a core founder of the Galactic Republic by 25,053BBY.
However, as the East prospered and expanded their newly unified land as a giant ecumenopolis, the West had continued it's infighting amongst eachother. Their kingdoms, now known as Hetmanates, continued to protect their land from invaders. It was not until 5,064BBY where Grand Hetman Peter Solbeskyi had ended the divisions, and pushed to unify the Hetmanates under one confederation, a "Cossack" Confederation. The confederation was eventually founded, and Western Alsakan became more or less known as the "Land of the Cossacks".
Eventually, the Eastern Side of Alsakan begun to expand their city towards the west, namely during the Alsakan Conflicts, causing many Cossacks to force resettle further westerward. This would eventually come to the point where the two would have a brief conflict known as the Alsakan-Cossack War. About three of these wars happened, with the first seeing the most fighting and the two others being minor skirmishes. Alsakans believed the Cossacks to be Courscanti sympathizers, in which many of them were neutral and just wanted their lands not to be touched. A peace agreement would eventually come by the 4,000th year of the conflict. The division between the two had begun through a barrier and a regulated border that would be patrolled by both Galacic Republic Troops under Alsakan control and Cossacks, but this would eventually grow lighter as the years had gone by, becoming mostly unregulated by the time of the Clone Wars. This would also establish a no-fly zone, so no craft would land inside of Western Alsakan without written permissions and approval by both the Alsakan government and the Cossack Hetmans.
Western Alsakan was very quiet from the years of the Old Republic and the Galactic Republic, not really involving themselves in political affairs after the Alsakan Conflicts. Many of it's Cossacks would become mercenaries for other planets and would eventually make the Cossacks now known for being mercenaries, as they begun to open up once more to the galaxy, and emerged. Many Cossacks would become known as famous mercenaries, and many took up roles as bounty hunters as well, though mercenary work was more preferred. During the Clone Wars, Alsakan was a key Republic World standing as a gateway to Courscant. The Separatists would work together with one of the Alsakan Officials to help secretly base separatist forces in the mountains of Western Alsakan. Eventually, the Separatists launched a surprise attack on the homeworld from Western Alsakan, but was quickly routed out by the combine efforts of the Republic, the Alsakan Security Forces and the Cossacks. This would be the first majour conflict the Cossacks would assist the Republic in together with their eastern counterparts, improving their relations.
Over the next course of 400 years or so, Western Alsakan would be peaceful, silent and quiet. Much of the Cossacks continue to live under Alsakan authority, though the autonomy has begun to increase for them. With the occasional disputes of illegal expansion and such, Western Alsakan continues to be a flush, green beauty. During the Gulag Plague however, a killing of over 60 million Cossacks occurred. Although it was not as bad as Alsakan's 130 billion dying, it was still a devastating thing to the people in the west. This caused further co-operation between the two to help combat the Gulag Plague. The border was once again used, but this time, to quarantine any infected that comes in or out of the area. No Cossack was allowed to enter or leave Western Alsakan, and Martial Law was declared, effectively turning the Confederation into a Dictatorship. This would be known as the "Dark Ages of Western Alsakan".
The Dictatorship came to an end eventually, but even still, recovery was slow. The 400 years of darkness was no better, as Western Alsakan was not really talked about, nor really spoken about. The attacks of the Kwa Princess however, had awaken the Cossacks once more, being the most active they had ever been since the Clone Wars. For the first time in a long time, the Cossacks would fight along side the Alsakan Security Forces and fight off the Kwa Princess, which took many Cossack lives. But thanks to advantages both in space and the ground, they had fended her off. Perhaps the most darkest years for the West was under the rule of the One Sith. Many Cossacks grew sick and tired of the One Sith, with one of the Cossacks attempting to revolt against the One Sith. Although the revolution never really saw full fruition, the One Sith did eventually fell, therefore, the spirit of this revolution did carried on. Due to this, for the first time in their history, the West and the East had finally removed their barriers with an agreement known as the Alsakan Concordance, which, with agreement of the Alsakan High Council, and the Cossack Hetmans, no expansion will ever take place without eachother's permission, in addition to removal of the barrier that stood between the two. For the first time, Cossacks started to appear in the East and lived there as well. This further helped business and trade, in addition to opening the door to outsiders wanting to. This also removed the no-fly zone, allowing all vessels to land in Cossack Land without having to dock along the border and ride all the way out to the land. Western Alsakan for the first time had seen much more trade and activity than ever in it's history. But, their culture still remains the same due to the agreement of settlements. The West still remains one of the most lushest areas of the Half City Planet.
