What a Way to Start a Day

Jiaa was waiting. He had never been that far away from home, just as he had never even thought of going so close to the Fringe capital of Annaj. But now he had done both of these and there was nothing to regret. He was about to start a new life of either wonderfulness or torture, depended on what the person he was waiting for wanted from him.

He had never even met the one he was now waiting for, but he sure did trust her a lot. Having arranged the meeting through the safe spokesperson and never actually getting to see each other, he had no idea of what to expect from the person. All that he knew was that he would be studying from her and that she was a female person.

Nothing else.

Shivering because of the chilly wind, he pulled the zipper of his black leather jacket closed to the top, put his hands into the deep pockets of his navy blue jeans, and sat on the green grassy ground so that he could give a little rest to his foot which had had to stay in the uncomfortable black boots for far too long.

His curly medium-long (for a boy) hair moved a little bit with the wind, but he didn't even notice that. Because deep inside, he was starting to worry whether the decision to meet with the person was a good one or if he had made an extremely wrong decision.

He couldn't be sure of that before he would meet the woman.

But then it would already be too late.

So he waited, his heart pounding seemingly in a 120 BPM tempo and his stomach being twisted and strangled and also poked with needles. That's exactly what he felt inside.

The breeze blew the cool air over the meadow, Spencer clung to a small parchment with location data where she would be meeting someone. It was an odd way to find a student, but Spencer had been on this desire to teach. Shoving the parchment into her pocket, she continued down. The woman looked nothing like a Jedi or a Sith, she had given up the traditional clothing long ago and only wore it when she needed to look the part. Her blonde hair continued to whip in her face till she found the small clearing.

He sat there waiting and she made her way down towards him. The boy was too young to hit on Ibaris which was a good thing, Spencer figured she was in the clear as well figuring he might pin her as an older sister type or mother type. Stopping before she got there, the woman cleared her mind and decided to force her Aura into the wind giving off a calming sensation. The boy would instantly feel it as she drew closer. Standing near him, she smiled and offered her hand casually towards him. In her palm were small chocolates.

“You must be Jiaa, I’m Spencer have you been waiting long?”

"No, not at all," the boy muttered. He had started feeling an emotion of comfort and it had reached its peak while next to the woman he was supposed to meet. That was a little bit terrifying, yet amazing at the same time. It looked like the Master was truly a powerful Force user and the thought of that gave the boy a little bit more of hope.

Jiaa stood up and continued, "It's nice to finally meet you, miss Spencer." He had no idea that the woman standing in front of her hadn't been a miss for long now and even had a child. How should have he know that?

He tried to smile to the woman, but his mouth felt like it was glued to its position or like the corners of his lips had been taped to stay right where they were. The situation was far too alien to the boy. In a normal situation he was not too awkward in social interaction, but as that moment was supposed to determine the fate of his whole life, he tried not to mess things up.

Innocence. Jiaa was probably the youngest student she had ever come across. The boy was nervous as one would be at this defining moment in their life. She remembered meeting her own Master, but the circumstances were far more chaotic than this. Noding her head she returned his smile and then reached out with her hand and ran in through his hair hoping to provide comfort for him. He used the name she gave him, but from this moment that she accepted him as her student - he would need to address her with respect.

“I’ll be taking you as my Padawan. From this moment on you’ll refer to me as Master, till you’re ready to leave the comfort of my teaching. I can show you the galaxy and how to work with the Force as a partner. The Force is the entity that guides us and not the other way around.” This was his first lesson, one didn’t master the force - one understood and accepted the Force as a partner and an aid. “Do you understand?”

Her hand fell from his head and she offered it to him to grasp. “Do you accept?”
