Port of Daybreak, Planet Castilon, Castilon System, Tashtor Sector

The sun fades as the night comes. Below was a once proud city, promising in fortune now laid in decay. Now only the scoundrel, exiled and the desperate live here. Ruined skyscrapers stood tall despite the times even with the makeshift shantytowns now laced onto it. Countless lights were lit across the city in preparation for the descending darkness.

In the waterways, various skiffs sped back and forth in traffic. A few spacecraft flew in and out of the port. Daybreak had seen better days decades ago but still it lingered on, refusing to die. Amidst the maze of streets Minerva marched cloaked in a red brown cloak with a blue patch in the middle. It covered her from head to hip as intended.

The helmetless Mandalorian didn't want to disclose her identity, not yet anyway. She reached another corridor before stopping and looking back and forth. Suddenly a loud clang echoed behind and she swung around now armed with pistols. What she saw next made her pause in embarrassment. It was a purple loth-cat that hisses at her before scurrying off to the opposite end.

Shaking her head beneath the hood Minerva then chuckled.

The gang would've gotten a kick out of me being surprised by a street feline.

Thinking about her former troops caused Minerva to sigh as she looked down on the pavement. Swifty the warrior brushed off that ache in her heart before moving forward. She had a job to do after all.

Minutes later she entered what had been a plaza but now a combination of a shanty town and market. As a thin red skinned Nikto merchant haggled with a human spacer over his wares next to her Minerva went onward into the sea of people. Countless stenches, odors and scents mixed together that would've sicken a Nabooian tourist. The warrior had no such problem. She navigated through masses while trying to be aware of possible pickpocketing.

Then just as Minerva avoided bumping into a Weequay repairman when she reached what had been the plaza's central water fountain. Now it was a cluster of makeshift shacks filled to brim with people. She stood and observed, scanning with her eyes until spotting a Sullustan youth on a speeder bike, showing off what she assumed to be his girlfriend.

"There you are."

Anger brewing Minerva marched toward the pair and soon heard her target say something in his language causing the girl to giggle. Subsequently they spotted her coming right at them. Before both could say a word Minerva grabbed the rider by one of his big ears, dragging him off the bike.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch stop-"

Without missing a beat Minerva threw the rider into a wall before getting his face. The latter with a horrified expression recognized Minerva, exclaiming.

"Poodoo!"

"Where is it?"

Nervously chuckling, the rider tried to look around before screaming.

"Help, somebody help!"

She drew a blaster from her right hand, shutting him up and she asked again but with growing impatience.

"Where is it you overgrown womp rat?!"

"Miss Minerva, is that really the best way to get the information you want?"

Loomi had been on leave from Coruscant over the last few days. She was getting close to something, what she wasn't exactly sure of. Her dreams had been taking her to different places, so she was rather used to rolling with the punches by now. Her friend being here was no surprise to the Godoan. The padawan understood that it was simply the Force leading her to where she needed to be.

The young Jedi had grown significantly since last they met. Her experience and skill had only grown, and there was a fresh air of confidence that seemed to follow her. It spoke to a great deal of growth, albeit subtly.

"If you need him to find you something he knows you can't shoot him," the Godoan remarked. "You probably want to try something different."

Instantly the warrior froze with her jaw dropped and eyes widened upon hearing that voice. No one calls me Miss Minerva except... Twisting her head around Minerva saw the Godon girl standing close by. She blinked underneath the hood, in disbelief.

"Loomi?" She asked out loud.

The kind nervous padawan she knew had grown up with a stronger will apparently. Still processing it all, Minerva subsequently heard the Jedi's advice. Her anger toward the rider was still there but she calmed down enough to consider what Loomi pointed out. Looking back to the Sullustan who gulped down his throat before returning her gaze to her friend. Sighing heavily Minerva holstered the pistol much to the street punk's relief.

But he wasn't off the hook not by a long shot. An idea came to the former captain she grinned.

"You better start speaking punk. My friend here can sense if you say the truth or not. So don't try to lie."

The Sullustan rider tensed up. Seeing that her bluff was working Minerva demanded.

"Now talk. Where's my ship?"

At first he said nothing while the chorus of voices and sounds rang out all around the ruined plaza. Not wanting his mind to be read he confessed.

"Jezin has the ship. He's going to hold an auction for it tomorrow at noon."

"Where?" Minerva demanded and the rider blurted out.

"At the main docks. Jezin runs that part of town."

Satisfied Minerva then threw the guy to the left side who crashed into a trash container with a loud clang. He whined in Sullustan about his coat. The Mandalorian warned.

"Get out of my sight."

Immediately the biker got up and made a break for it. Now alone Minerva finally pulled off the hood, revealing her face. Despite its fierce complexion she smiled warmly toward the Jedi.

"Good to see you, Loomi. It's been too long."

"Likewise," Loomi nodded. "I'm glad to see you're well. Or, I suppose as well as you can be given your ship situation, it seems."

She offered a sympathetic smile. That wasn't a scenario she ever wanted to be stuck in. At least she never had to really worry about being the pilot of most of the ships she dwelled on. Braze Braze or Tirin Raene Tirin Raene saw to ship oversight, depending on the situation she happened to be in at any given time.

"Jezin," she remarked with a frown. "Sounds like a local crime boss of some sorts. Illegal auction of stolen materials..."

A more eager smile appeared on the Godoan's face.

"Sounds like you need some assistance," the padawan concluded. "Why don't you let me help you?"

Minerva had to suppress the strong urge to sigh again. Losing her ship was incredibly embarrassing especially in the manner it occurred. Fortunately her friend brought things back into focus. She nodded in acknowledgment before hearing the Jedi's offer to help. Normally she wouldn't want a kind soul like Loomi to get caught up in this sort of mess but necessity demanded otherwise.

"Alright then. C'mon let's get moving."

Gesturing with the right arm for Loomi to follow her, Minerva went further through the small pathway amongst the shacks. A speeder truck thundered meters away to the south, honking the horn. Soon they crossed a dirt street before heading to the edge of a canal with three water skiffs docked with drivers waiting. Without missing a beat Minerva pulled out a coin and tossed it to a cyan colored Twi'lek male beside his skiff. Catching it the driver grinned with broken teeth.

"Destination ladies?" He asked in a heavy Ryloth accent. Minerva was quick to reply.

"To the main docks."

Nodding the driver got the water skiff while his fellows looked on with envy or resentment. The cloaked Mandalorian got onboard and once Loomi joined them, the water driver sped his craft off the pier. Sitting in the middle of the skiff Minerva then said to the young Jedi.

"Despite the circumstances it is good to see you Loomi. How have you been?"

"Good, I think," Loomi stated. "I've... been learning a lot. About myself, I mean. I've... been making up for lost time with my mother, among other things. She certainly needs that time after Ord Providence was lost. It's... a very long story."

Loomi looked out at the water before returning her good eye to Minerva.

"How about yourself?" she asked. "You... seem like you've been off on your own journey for some time now."

Raising an eyebrow in surprise Minerva took in all that information. The warrior nodded solemnly.

"I'm truly sorry about your ancestral home kid. Though I'm glad you're able to reunite with your mother. Trust me it's those small moments that count."

Not a day goes by where she misses her adopted father and sometimes she wonders what it would've been like if her birth parents had lived. But that was not to be. At Loomi's question she turned her gaze to the rushing water on the left side. Subsequently she answered without looking back.

"You could say that. I left the Defense Forces some time ago and I'm now a mercenary again."

Turning back to Loomi she confessed.

"Truth be told it's been kinda aimless for me since then. Though taking back my ship will be a start."
