What Are You, Exactly? [Grudge]

It was rare that Ayva was approached by people from the former Empire, which had collapsed years ago; but whenever they did, she did her best to fulfill whatever request they brought to her. This time the thing in question was a... Hutt? Or something akin to that, at any rate. The being was seeking training in mental arts, specifically telekinesis, and Ayva had no reason to say no. Of course, her ship wasn't fit to carry large burdens, so she had scheduled a meeting on Nal Hutta after getting back from Shaddaa.

Acquiring a humble abode, Ayva nestled down and waited for the call which would direct her to the meeting point; they would be training outside, as it allowed the use of Sokan to come into play. Why lift specific objects when you had an environment to act as a mental playground?

So it was that when the call did come in, Ayva left the house she had acquired and stepped into the dirty streets of Nal Hutta. Her gaze drifted up to the moon in the distance, where strange events had occurred not too long ago, and with a sigh she set off toward one of the wide open fields away from the town itself. It would not be wise to attract the attention of the Techno Union, who likely had enforcers on world now that the planet was their own. While she didn't think they'd have an issue with a Sith or a Hutt, especially if they did the people no harm, she didn't want to take any chances.

Oddly enough, Grudge himself had recently traveled to Nal Hutta after finishing particular business deals in Shaddaa. Through his own set of networking, he discovered a hopefully appropriate person that could awaken the ability to mold the force he had spent the majority of his life neglecting due to dedicating his life to bio-engineering and completing his mutation serum. Now, he found the serum completed, his company created and the first line of mutants brought into fruition. The next phase of his plane had arose, and [member="Ayvari Dorian"] would dictate would be the force that drove it to completion. Finding himself in the wide open fields of Nul Hutta, looking at his comm-link of which he used to send Ayvari the coordinates to meet him.

Before long, he saw her in the distance. Her being brimmed with a unique force, one that attracted the dark as opposed to the light. The grutt's jumbled teeth were revealed as his brain body grinned eagerly. As for Grudge himself, he was a 2'2" pile of gray-matter and unknown mutated substances. In short, he was a slithering and living brain with blood-shot red eyes due to sleep deprivation and pink tendrils that extended in opposing directions around him. "Well .. Well .. look who it is. I'm gracious you accepted my request, Miss Ayvari."

As Ayva stepped into the field she noticed something remarkably odd. There was no Hutt to be seen, instead a rather gelatinous looking brain - there really was no other word for it - lay quaking on the ground as blood circulated it. It was absolutely revolting, quite possibly the worst thing she had ever seen... And she had seen the innards of countless Wookies sprawled out for the whole of Kashyyyk to see.

Still, the creature... being's form mattered not. If its mental capabilities were on point, and its connection to the Force proved fruitful, then their time would be well spent. Did this thing even have a brain? Or was it just... that. Ayva resisted the urge to shudder. Back on task, before her mind wandered too much.

"Ah, Mister Grudge, a pleasure I'm sure."

Ayva's smooth Imperialistic accent had a slightly unexpected rasp to it, not enough to immediately pinpoint her as an Ubese but not quite natural for a human woman. Unless she had spent her life smoking, which she most certainly had not!

Tilting her head to one side, Ayva managed a smile.

"Forgive me, it seems my informant told me wrong - I was expecting something quite... Larger. With this in mind, you're welcome to return with me to my ship where a fully fitted training room is available. Or we can remain here among the elements - your call."

Grudge eyed the female down, top to bottom. She wasn't twi'lek, but, she possessed a certain something that allured Grudg-..smokes. Ah, that's it. This guy needed a smoke, bad. Proved evident as the small abomination used its tendrils to mimic lighting a smoke and placing it between its lips, puffing it as she smoke. "The elements have yet to do me any justice as of late, doll. Please, lead the way." He said, referring to the radioactive waste that sparked the entire accident of his...well..existence. When and if she began to walk, he'd slither his way in the same direction, using his tendrils to match her paste. This was quickly getting old. Advancements would need to be made. Whether a new body, or telekinetic means of transporting himself. That's where [member="Ayvari Dorian"] would come into play.

[Sorry, stupidly busy few days!]

With a nod of her head Ayva turned and set off back through the fields; she didn't walk too fast, understanding how difficult it must be for him to move swiftly given his present... state.

But all the same, with Ayva not being one for small talk, they seemed to reach the starport in no time and Ayva led him to the hangar which held the Mynock. She admired the vessel as she approached it, eyes scanning the underbelly as she passed up through the ramp and into a cargo hold. It was considerably smaller than one might expect for a ship of its size, but it was the only way she could fit in the training room.

Droids stood to attention at numerous points throughout the ship; for now they did and said nothing, in fact they looked inactive, but they were scanning the place constantly and waiting vigilantly for any sign of trouble.

"Kay-Four" she said, as they entered the training room wherein the droid was waiting, "Fetch our guest some refreshments, and then prepare for take off - Stop just out of orbit."

After saying that she turned to Grudge. "I'd rather we weren't interrupted, I'll return you back to Nal Hutta once we're done here."

Without waiting for the refreshments to arrive, or for the ship to leave the world, Ayva then shrugged out of her jacket and turned toward the brain-like creature.

"The key to telekinesis is willpower; you have to know what you want to achieve, and then visualise it. Exert your will over the Force. It is not quite so easy to begin with, but with time it will come as effortlessly as breathing. First, though, you must quieten your mind. You're no Sith, from what I can tell, so this will be the most efficient method."

Turning her gaze around the room, she reached out a hand and brought a kendo-stick from the wall without so much as a blink. Her hand shot out at the last moment, catching it and placing it on the ground before them. "We could begin with something smaller, but the limitations to what you can lift are all in your head. Size does not matter in the Force. Now, breathe in and calm your mind - empty it of all unnecessary thoughts."

Ayva had learned much while with the Jedi - far more than she probably ought to - and she realised that some of their methods worked better even than some of the Sith when it came to enforcing her will over the Force. There was no shame in peaceful meditation every now and then.

Grudge found himself boarding [member="Ayvari Dorian"]'s ship. Slithering through Ayvari's non-sentient staff of surveying droids, The Grutt followed Ayvari into the training rooms. "I don't mind at all. Not too fond of that Nal Hutta in its entirety apart from the scarce bunch of business associates I have there." Grudge's eyes shifted to Ayvari as she removed her jacket. Perhaps in another universe, in another galaxy, this could've meant more for the Grutt than a woman preparing for training. Their training was about to commence, it would seem, and Ayvari was the second individual to link telekinesis' power to willpower.

His prior trainer gifted him the concept of "a spinning wheel" in relation to how the force works. "I must admit, Miss Ayvari, I have the faintest familiarity with how to exert my will upon the force. With you, however, I'd hope to reach new heights with this..'ability'." Grudge lowered his gaze toward the kendo-stick drawn from the wall and placed before him. His prior object he was faced with was a canteen. This, as a result, would prove to be a greater challenge, however faint it may have been. Grudge's tendrils curled underneath him, mimicking a meditative stance as he sat before Ayvari. Being a living brain had its advantages, such as a more profound connection with mental capabilities and your own thoughts. The task of whisking away any and all thoughts came relatively easy to him. Now, the Grutt sat in silence, gathering focus with calming breaths and patience.

A few minutes would pass, the Grutt feeling the invisible waves of the force flowing about him. Grudge lifted a tendril, positioning it before the kendo-stick. He'd flood his mental plane with thoughts of the kendo-stick lifting. The Kendo-stick before long, rose into the air by a few feet, wobbling faintly to indicate his lack of prowess. However, the act was done. Afterward, The Grutt's eyes would widen, his tendril withdrawn and the kendo-stick hitting the ground once again. "Limitations to what I can lift is in my head? You believe that truly, do you, Miss Avery? Because if so..I believe the far future will prove very exciting for me and this..ability."

Ayva did not say much; she did not speak for the sake of it, at least not during training. And not when ones mental capabilities had to be on point. Silently pacing around the room, she observed without interruption as Grudge began to clear his mind and open himself up to the possibilities of the Force. Lifting a Kendo-Stick or a rock was one thing, but transferring that into oneself - which she knew was what he hoped to gain from this - was another thing all together. It wasn't that it was more difficult, or even any different, simply that many found it impossible to believe in. There couldn't be any hint of doubt.

Watching as the stick rose, Ayva gave a short nod of her head before calling the object back to her hand and settling it into its place upon the wall.

"Precisely. It's all in your head. If you do not believe that you can do it, then you won't be able to. There is no room for doubt or error. You must exact your will over the Force and the matter you wish to move. Be that a hunk of wood, durasteel, or an organic form such as your own. It's easy to lift the former, you can see and visualise it. But looking upon yourself is significantly harder. Which is why I encourage you to close your eyes and visualise mentally. With time even that will not be necessary, however."

Tilting her head to one side she pondered for a moment, before taking a few steps forward.

"Perhaps you would like to try on something a little more middle ground. A droid, perhaps? A larger structure, complicated in it's mechanical anatomy, which you can see and easily visualise?"

At that exact moment Kay-Four entered, with a refreshments tray in his hand which he settled on a side table - one of the few adornments in the room.

The Grutt accepted the information [member="Ayvari Dorian"] offered. His abilities were limited to what he believed, it would seem. Alike his plans for the future, there was no room for doubt, or error. This was a primary component needed for his plans to function and as such, he would treat it with a plentiful degree of seriousness and effort. "You're saying that I have to visualize things past their exterior to enact my will upon them? The metal, the circuitry, the binary functions of a droid being an example?" The Grutt's blood-shot gaze switched to Kay-Four as he walked in. He'd position himself toward the droid, clearing his mind and allowing the force to swell around him before he extended a tendril toward the mechanized being. His thoughts extended farther than the droid merely lifting, but the individual physical functions of the droid lifting as well. The metal, the wires and so forth. A certain mucus would roll off the brain-body of Grudge, mimicking sweat as his tendril trembled heavily. His focus was poured into the single act of lifting the droid, and with every fiber of mental strength the mentally enhanced being possessed, he'd wouldn't stop until he did just that.
