Cybernetic Assassin
Rhen Var was a cold and forbidding planet, not unlike Csilla.
The frozen earth was in perpetual struggle as it was shredded by coarse winds, pierced by gouts of flame and molten rock, and choked under tonnes upon tonnes of packed snow and ice. Looking up at the tall, jagged peaks was like watching a battle unfold in slow motion. And while the interior of the tower was warm, the howling of the wind and the suicidal clashing of snow against black stone brought a chill to Nethil's blue flesh. She stood with hands clasped behind her back, red eyes facing hard forward, unblinking, gazing into the battle of natural forces. With her many enhancements, one would scarcely assume that she would be one to consider the primal forces. Yet, there she stood, reflecting upon the power of ice, fire, and wind.
What were these forces if not a perfect mechanism of mutual destruction and reconstruction.
Her stream of thought was cut by the arrival of imperial boots. Swiftly, the young woman turned and looked to the commanding officer of the fortress' legion who had arrived with files requested by Nethil.
"This is all that has been gathered thus far." He said as he plugged the information into the holodisplay table "Understand, the climate makes it difficult to launch excursions without concrete leads, and what we find is not always feasible to bring back on account of the ice."
Nethil nodded as her hands detached from her back and crossed the left arm over her chest, the right elbow pinning the left hand to her side, she touched her own lower lip in thought. She was not alone in searching for the truly ancient secrets of mechu deru masters past. This very fortress was built upon the presumed foundations of the original Fort Mekhis; named for a legendary master in the art of melding mind and machine to one unstoppable force.
Some of the files were military, some were from the Historic Society, some from the Saaraishash, though there were many redactions. Some files were recorded as having existed, but being lost when the planet fell out of Imperial control for a brief time.
"Thank you, Colonel." She looked to the others, most of greater repute than Nethil herself, but none quite as familiar with Rhen Var. "We require some time to discuss our approach." the chiss then looked to the colonel again, who gave his confirmation and signalled for the non-essential personell to remove themselves, leaving the Sith and whoever they had seen fit to bring along alone in the Master's Tower of Fort Mekhis, Rhen Var.
"If there is anything my Lords require, do not hesitate to notify my staff." Cordial, but cold, he turned and departed with the others.
Nethil plugged a second data source into the holotable, pulling up a second set of data to compare with the files they had received from the fort's records. It was not much, but perhaps enough to piece together some clues. Some pointed to Rhen Var, some to Prakith, some to distant and unknown places in the Unknown Regions.
"This is about as much as I have been able to gather until now." Nethil looked to the other Sith with measured deference. She was very much aware that she was of a lower rank than most here, but she also knew that she held keys that were vital to the mission. While this gave her some leverage, she knew not to overplay her hand.
