What goes up must come down

I am a son of the Mountain.
"Kark! I'm so sick of this crap!" Lucky yelled out over the comm channel, a clear distaste lining her tone.

Drifting in the open space of the Rodia system Phantom Squadron had been assigned to one of the most boring and feared duties that any fighter squadron could be given, scouting duty. From Kamino to Rodia the small squadron was required to do a lengthy survey of the systems in between, only stopping to refuel and for a limited amount of leg time. Their third day in the pilots were all beginning to feel the depression of such a mission.

Dominic let out a long winded yawn before lowering the radio he set in the frame of his ship. "Not like complaining will make it any better Lucky." He said, stretching his arms a bit.

"A kick in your backside would make it better." Lucky commented before letting out an almost animistic screech. "How long until the next planet?!" She screeched.

Dominic maintained a steady chuckle before finally answering her. "Two hours." Immediately Lucky's comm device was turned off from her end, causing Dominic and Radar to let out a more than amused laugh.

"Man, and she just got back into a good mood." Radar said, the sound of tinkering coming from his TIE fighter. Dominic's feet were laid above his controls, his TIE Fighter set to drift as they awaited the time for their patrol in this sector to be over. "You better not be working on your fighter while in space, Radar." He said, accusingly.

"No way, L.T. just messing with a datapad." He said, the sound of tinkering still in the background.

"Yea whatever, Hey Pipsqueak you doing ok?" Dominic called out to Sara. This wasn't the first time on a patrol with their newest member, yet Dominic knew the more you did them the worse they got.

Patrol, sure it was something every pilot hated. But for Sara it felt like nothing bolt always did patrols somewhere when she was in the first order, she simply sat on a data pad looking things over as she listened and sighed as she turned down her head set then back again

not to bad, little bored been keeping least little bit awake with a game

She said as she tapped away humming to herself off mic before she spoke again

this does however suck two hours and I'm setting her son the last level

I am a son of the Mountain.
Thanks to the life-support systems of the TIE predators Dominic was able to keep his helmet off for about an hour for every two he had to have it on. Pulling the helmet off and setting it to the side he began to tap his toe against the viewport idly. "Yea, not much to do up here. Used to bring books but I didn't have any that looked like a good read. So I just brought along an old Reg manual and my radio." He explained.

"Man loves his music." Radar said before going silent once more.

"You could say that I am a fan of all things beautiful." Dom chuckled.

After a few more moments there was a click when Lucky came back to the comm channel. "Ok...ok...I'm ok." She said, her breathing sounded measured. "Hard to throw a fit when oxygen is limited huh?" Dominic pointed out.

"Shut it, boss." She said, before turning her attention to Sara. "The least they could do is give us a corvette or something to dock on and go through hyperspace."

"Welcome to the Galactic Empire, where funding is for them, not you." Radar said, with a laugh chasing his words.

Dominic shook his head before his eyes turned to a nearby star that seemed to be having some kind of cataclysmic event. Lucky for the squadron they appeared to be out of range. "Hey....you guys see that?" Dominic said, mildly interested. "Right side, the star."

She chuckled as she finished the level then groaned as she now had nothing to do at all, she listened in as she sat up glancing over to luckys fighter and spoke

that's how the first order did it, or we used fighters with minijump drives. Either way hell lot easier for sure

Sara idly fiddled with her blaster before she peeked out seeing the star and sat forward

Well holy crap, I Think the stars going to super nova...leats let's hope better then a black hole

I am a son of the Mountain.
When Sara said the star was going to super nova Dominic couldn't help but sigh. "Yea, anyway we shoul-" A loud beeping came over his console which brought his attention to the radar in front of him. Three small blips had appeared on his screen and were moving away at a rapid rate.

Dominic looked through his viewport, three X-wing fighters were moving from behind a small asteroid and flying away from Dom's squadron with a haste that cried guilt. He quickly pulled his feet from the console, pulling his helmet back over his head. "Twelve o'clock! Look alive we have fighters trying to flee the system!" He called out.

Without thought Dominic pushed his control stick forward, his fighter zooming towards the X-wings. "On my back Squadron!" He commanded.

Sara listened then looked to her radar watching the blood as her eyes went out to scan, she quickly pulled into her seat and pushed the controls flying beside dom as she flicked her targeting system on as she started locking on

permission to engage when within range sir?

She said as she was gaining on one rapidly as she gave a smile knowing all to well this x wing was toast

I am a son of the Mountain.
Dominic smirked as the X-wing's came in range to his sights. As Phantom Squadron formed up behind their leader a loud ringing could be heard as all of their fighter's controls would start to jam and fail. "What th- What!?" He said, slamming his hand on the controls.

A moment later he could hear Lucky speaking through her comm device. "Boss...."

"What?!" Dominic asked, turning his attention to the star that was at the edge of the solar system, it was undergoing a series of massive explosions, each time it exploded the loud ringing would erupt once again. Dominic looked to the X-Wing's that drifted closer to the star, they too had stopped their movement and seemed to be trapped.

"Oh Kark....that star's explosions are screwing with our systems." He said, immediately powering down his fighter, leaving all but his comm device offline. "Power down your ships, wait for my mark, we have to time the explosions and try to fly away in between them."

Sara pressed the button to fire

She looked around panicking a bit as she tried moving, nothing she got no response, she panted a s she sat back running numbers in her head for the reason why...then that loud ringing hit her ears as she looked to the star...and paled

She powered down her fughtwr as she spoke quickly with panic

we ain't got long then! Those explosion memas it's about to supernova and I rather not be within this place when it does

She said as she took a breath trying to calm herself as she held the stick tight

I am a son of the Mountain.
Dominic cursed himself for remaining in this sector with that damned star. He knew better but had gotten too complacent to care. "Kark." He muttered. Watching as another explosion went off.

One.....two.....three.....four.....five.....six.....seven...eight....nine...te-

His count was interrupted by yet another explosion, this one louder then the last. "Ok we have ten seconds, after the next explosion get ready to pull a ninety away from that damned star!" He ordered.

Again he waited...and waited....and waited....For what felt like a lifetime until he finally heard the loud ring of the explosion once more. "Now!" He called out.

The fighter pilot quickly brought his systems back online, the thrusters to his ship fluttering before coming back online. "On me!" He yelled, forcing his stick to the left, throwing his fighter into a fleeting burnout away from the star's blast radius. Dominic could see a planet nearby, but was intent on passing right by it, however as the count reached seven seconds another explosion went off. "You must be ki-." His systems were once again wiped, yet this time the man had only managed to drift close enough to the nearby planet to pull him into it's gravitational pull! As Phantom followed him the entire team would find themselves pulled to the planet, their systems helpless against the gravitational pull.

"No no no no no!" Dominic said, trying to get his systems back online as his fighter gradually began to breach orbit and collect a dangerous amount of speed.

She waited taking a breath in as she forced herself to calm, she started tapping away at her controls getting ready to explode out and away when the order was given

She closed her eyes praying to the force, she hasn't encountered this before something like this just wasn't normal, she heard his order and took off pressing to high and even adjust to go pass recommended levels

She looked back as she took a breath feeling like she was out of 5he sarlac pit, however she heard the explosion again and felt her controls not responding...make it worse they were caught in gravity. She started checking diverting power anything but nothing...she started panicking as she watched fire collect knowing they were going down

we need to time it right to either bail! Or hope to his the fighters get working

I am a son of the Mountain.
As the Squadron broke through the atmosphere, Dominic pulled at his stick, trying to slow the descent of his fighter.

"Damn it! I know pipsqueak! Get ready to..." Dominic's words were cut from him as he saw two of Phantom Squadron's fighters flying out towards the horizon. "What the....they got knocked off course!" When he turned his attention back to the planet's surface he realized he was quickly running out of time to eject.

"Eject! Eject!" He yelled, slamming his hand on a nearby red button.

The wings of the predator were detached as the top hatch flew off. Immediately after Dominic felt his seat shoot from it's place, forcing him to fly into the air. He gripped the sides of the seat tightly as he flew into the air.

The parachute to Dominic's seat ejected, jerking him quickly into place. He coughed as the binds over his chest pressed into him. Dominic watched as what remained of his fighter slammed into the planet's barren surface. "Damn..." He exhaled.

She took a breath as she pulled back growling as she felt the fighter creak trying to adjust itself in the atmosphere. However she saw the ground coming close and took a breath as she looked around and listened

It didn't take her long, she slammed her hand on the red button and felt her body be pushed to the seat at high speeds, next she felt the parachute come out and gasped as the belts pulled agaisnt her

She is red as she floated for the ground keeping a eye on dom before slowly she touched down, getting tangled on a try as she waited for the movement yo stop and detached from it and then landed panting

I am a son of the Mountain.
Dominic's seat finally impacted with the ground after what felt like a delayed, and slightly humiliating, descent to the ground. His parachute fell over him as he let out a more than aggravated sigh.

Unbuckling the binders that came over his chest he angrily batted at the parachute, pulling it from it's place over his eyes. Dominic groaned as he stood from the ejected seat, glancing around the terrain that surrounded him. An odd mixture of large trees and giant rocks it appeared to be some oddly barren jungle. Though there were trees there lacked any other foliage on the planet. "This isn't good."

His attention was caught when he heard a loud thud, he turned around to see that Sara had made it out of the fighter safely. A sigh of relief escaped him before he detached his comm link from it's headset.

The man activated the device and spoke into it as he approached Sara. "Phantom Squadron, report." He ordered, but was met with a low shimmer of feedback.

"Phantom Squadron report, Lucky, Radar, can you read me?" When he was met with feedback once again he cursed before looking over to Sara. "You ok?" He asked.

She pulled her blaster out as she checked her points, she moved slowly back to dom as she kept her blaster raised and looking around before relaxing

im fine, I've taken a lot worse

She rolled her shoulders, there would be some bruising later and she knew that. She kept her helmet on letting a breath out looking around...a mess of a jungle with no apparent end....great

last I caught of the two they were heading down about few clicks to the north east best place to check is there

She looked over to him, she was surprisingly calm after crashing

I am a son of the Mountain.
Dominic started to join Sara in moving towards the other ships before placing a hand on his hip. Where his holster for his blaster was, there was no blaster in it. His hand brushed over it several times before he looked down. "Oh, hold on, I must have dropped my blaster when I landed." He said, making his way back over to his ejected seat.

He looked around the seat, placing a hand in his pocket as he searched the area. After a few moments he finally found his blaster, however it had been snapped in two when he landed. The man picked the broken weapon up and stared at it absently. "H-how did this even happen?" He questioned himself before tossing it to the side. "Figures." The Lieutenant turned towards Sara and ran a hand over his head as he gestured towards the blaster. "I think I dropped it when I ejected and my seat fell on it, not really sure. Regardless let's get moving. Hopefully Lucky and Radar didn't lose their fighters, they had longer to slow down for a more decent landing."

Dom made his way towards the location of the crashed fighters, glancing back to Sara as they did. "You know....I don't generally like losing my fighter. But I heard they just came out with an updated model, so...win some, lose some." He said.

Dominic seemed oddly casual about the entire situation, though in truth he was very worried about Lucky and Radar.

She nodded and took a guarding position checking the points around them before she turned and started over for him looking to the blaster as she shook her head

could be worse, it could've lodged itself in you or exploded

She followed as she held her blaster at ease, she looked to the mangled wrecks of fighters, she gave a sighed....brand damn new too...she chuckled and followed
Behind him

yea, let's hope the enemy all crashed...i rather nor have any birds making swoops down at us

She looked out, hoping lucky and radar was ok, she started for where they last were seem, stepping at a decent pace calmly

I am a son of the Mountain.
When Sara pointed out that Dominic's weapon could have ended up lodged in him or exploded in his face he nodded, agreeing. "Fair enough, but I prefer to have a- KARK!" He stopped dead, finally realizing something. Dominic looked up to the spot in the sky where the exploding star was very barely visible. "Kark, kark, kark!" He slapped the side of his head.

"It just occurred to me if the fighters are all grounded we'll be stuck here! We can't get a comm signal out while that Star is sending out all that interference." He explained.

Dominic picked up the pace, engaging the rather plain terrain that surrounded them. He had to admit the planet was pretty odd but he didn't have time to stop and take a good look.

Sara stopped with him and glanced over , had the lead gone mad? She then listened to him explain as she huffed and frowned doing a bit if math in her head as she nodded to herself

I'll find a way, if we can find radar I'm sure me and him can put soemthin g togther with no problem at all

She ran with him as she holster her blaster to run with him as she glanced around checking corners since she was the only one with a blaster

I am a son of the Mountain.
Dominic continued to move through the terrain until they reached a large hill. There was little hesitation as Dominic climbed the hill, however when he got to the top he remained silent for a moment before muttering one word. "Kark."

Over the hill the terrain was flat and barren, nothing but rock and stone for miles and miles, as Dominic peered into the horizon he could see a smoke trail, yet even he could tell that was more than a day's journey away by foot. "Man...when they get knocked off course they get knocked off course." He exclaimed, glancing around for a bit before turning back to Sara. "I think it would be smart for us to make a camp." He looked up to the sky which was just starting to show the signs of an evening horizon.

"We need to find water or else that's going to be a very short trip."

[member="Dominic Crowley"]
She followed crunching through the forest floor as she panted and then stoop she looked out and let a huff out groaning

Flat barren seems dlikw nothing alive for miles and miles, she glanced to the smoke trail and sighed as she looked to dom and nodded as she looked to the forest behind them

I think we should set in the forest, surely there's water somewhere, maybe something we can catch and cook as well

She said looking to him
