R&D, it was either the best, or the worst thing about developing a new product, it was good because nothing seemed impossible. It was the worst, because you had to micromanage every single credit in the entire department, everyone wanted more funds than the last guy, Nicademus definitely respected his Head of R&D, Leoni Farlance, her job must be a nightmare. Today he was meeting with a good freind, who said he had a product idea, the preliminaries looked good, but they would need to get an idea going with R&D before it could even start research, so he arranged for a meeting between [member=james justice], himself, and Leoni, in order to get this thing moving. The product was a contact lens hud device, Justice wanted one, Nicademus saw business opportunity, and Leoni saw a scientific challenge, but they all needed to work together on this one. Nicademus was waiting for Justice to arrive at the corporate landing pad, at their R&D facility on Atzerri, as he usually did when he was waiting, he pulled up a book on his datapad, and started reading.

"Easy boy, easy," James warned Reed.

The droid gave a testy reply.

"Hey, I am sorry, I just don't know if they'll let ye in, boy," James said to Reed.

Reed gave a humble request.

James nodded, straitening his hat, "Aye, I'll see, ye know me, Reed. Yer my best mate. I wouldn't wanna go anywhere without you."

The astromech's spirits lifted as the Dynamic freighter touched down. James didn't know how much this would cost him, however, he was sure that [member="Nicademus Blith"] would be resaonable. If anything else, James was more than willing to do work for work; everyone had something they needed moved, that was his ideology anyway. The Drunken Angel touched down gracefully and James swaggered down the loading ramp. His right leg felt so much lighter without the DeathHammer on it, but he would manage. Besides, he still had his hold out blaster concealed in his boot, for comfort more than anything else.

James swaggered up to his friend and slapped him on the shoulder, "Always with the reading with you, mate. Ye look good, business sems to be coming along well, that is dandy," he chuckled and looked back at Reed who was waiting eagerly at the bottom of the loading ramp, "Oy, you mind if the droid tags along? He likes to go everywhere I do. Makes him feel good."

It was nice meeting an old friend, and the droid was fine, and the only people who would care were the janitors, they reall.y did not do much chemical research here, besides tibanna gas mixing.
"Haha, good to see you, your droid is fine, the only one who will give a feth are the janitors, and they have no authority. And even then, most of the security force is droids anyway." He said
He then motioned for Jusitce to follow him, as they walked down to the large open administrative building, they were checked by security, Justice's weapons were detected, but Nicademus overrode the security warning, knowing Justice could not leave his ship without some sort of weapon. The Administrative building had beautiful marble floors and granite walls were what made up the large open space, and this was only the lobby, they then checked in with the receptionist.
"We have a meeting with Leoni Farlance." He said to the receptionist
"Here is your meeting, well tell you when she is ready." She replied.
Nicademus then turned to James
"How have you been?" He asked

James gave the receptionist a wink and a flirtatious smile. He couldn't resist a lady. Ever. She blushed slightly and gave a shy smile back. Ah, still got it.

"I been good, thanks, quite well," the freighter said fishing a cigarette from his pocket. He resisted the urge to light up. He had to maintain a modicum of manners, but the object pressed between his lips still gave him a sense of wellness. "Making runs, as usual. How does the saying go? Its not a living but its a life. Just came back from pirate fighting way out in the boonies of Mando'a space," he chuckled. "Ye'd figure they dun't need pirate fighting whence they are from, but that's the way life is, me thinks." He arched his brows in thought, "From here we be going to Roche to see about establishing a port," he cleared his throat, "agreement of sorts." his eyes twinkled. "Fun stuff. But don't tell no one I told ye that. Strictly 'atween the twos of us."

Reed came up behind James and gave a warble of dissent.

"Well of course ye know, grumpy bucket, I done told ye already," James shook his head. "Oy, droids these days."

Reed snorted in contempt, extending an appendage in an obscene gesture.

James laughed, "I hope ye don't repair my ship with that hand."

"My protocol droid is perfectly fine. But whatever floats your boat." He replied
The receptionist then told the two men that Leoni was ready, so they then went up to the elevator and went up the the 5th floor of the building. The administrative building was the tallest section, but had the least floor space. They came up to room 507, where they would be meeting with the Head of R&D, to discuss the prototype she had come up with over the past few months, this is one of the many reviews in what R&D called "The Gauntlet" this was the first review, which was the easiest one, due to the product being a prototype. Leoni was doing something on her datapad when the two men walked into the room.
"Hello Miss Farlance" Nicademus said, sitting down at the conference table.
"Hello Nicademus, and i do not belive i have met you." She said to the two men

James followed his friend through the building, it was massive, and he had a hard time not loosing his head in it.

As the door opened James caught the view of the lady and it wipped all that out of his head. With a dashing smile the spacer winked, "Believe me, miss the pleasure is all mine. Brains and beauty, I'd say your the full package."

Taking his seat, James let Reed trundle up beside him. The spacer pulled out a data pad, "Well I suppose it would hurt to go over the idears once more in person right?" He cleared his throat and lit his cigarette. "Basic HUD principals, able to hook up to 15 objects at a time, displays Intel on the lens, standard to HUD units. You could have it link up to standard wrist comm/data units even for an upsell," James winked at Nicodemus, "and of course weapons, starships, driods, scanner units," he set the datapad down. "Making sense love?"

Leoni pulled a small container out of her pocket, upon opening it there was a small black box, with two pairs of contact lenses next to it. She ignored his flirtations, but could not help feeling flattered.
"Well, we could not miniturize the electronics enough to fit in the lenses, so it requires an outside computer system, wether it be a droid, ship, datapad, whatever, the default one is this small box, it can fit in your pocket, or in armor compartments, the contacts relay the data, while the computer does the computing. It is very basic, and does not do much more than the required features." She said, closing the case and handing it to [member=james justice] not that she knew his name.

James grinned and took the package in his hand. Never one to take things slow, he put both contacts in his eyes. Blinking twice rapidly, the lights show on the lenses began, analyzing the room and displaying data, read-outs, and a variety of Intel. It took him a moment to aclimate to the new view.

"Well my suspicions were confirmed," James said, "you are as smart as you are pretty."

Reed gave a warbled suggestion.

"Yeah your right." James presses a few buttons on the box and linked it to the droid. A readout of the droid's Intel began to splay into view with a view of the droids photoceptors in his corner eye. The spacer gave a low whistle and linked his DeathHammer; the shot count dispatched itself in the bottom right.

"Hmmmm, I wonder...."

He pressed a few clicks and linked his datapad to it and was surfing the holonet in a few minutes. "Well, miss your a genious," James declared leaning on the table. "I need to take you out for drinks to give you a proper thank you," he turned to Nicodemus. "You could make lots of money on this, my friend. If you could implant this chip under the skin, that'd be a selling point. I am seeing big thing my friend, big things," he gave an excited chuckle and slapped him on the back.

" I might just have to take you up on that." Leoni Replied
Leoni really did not go out much, so it was a win win situation for her.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicademus thought about the implant, but then denied, remembering a lesson from one of his fathers products
"if i have learned one thing, its that people do not like chips being implanted into their bodies, but there was that one cyborg guy......" He replied
He then congratulated Leoni on the good work.
"I know a good bar around here, here is the address." He said handing Justice a piece of paper, with an address written on it.

James winked at his friend, greatful for the tip, "I owe ye mate. If ye ever needs a thing, call on me."

Putting at gentle and suave arm around the lady, James led her out the door. "Tell me, have ye ever considered taking a ride to Umbaria? Oh? No? Well I shall have to take ye sometime..."
