What is Dead can Never Die

The Dark Worlds were a place few others went and they had managed to track a sith cult here. The rennek palace being turned into their own temple. The main feature of it that was rumored was the throne that sat on the largest hill of the temple. Overseeing all of it and the the alter when she was in the cockpit of the ship. Exploration crafts like the one from Saotome was larger then most but it was self sustaining and built for them to really be able to get out here into the Unknown regions. No one really knew where the exact coordinates were for the dark worlds but they knew how to get into its nebula. The Nameless one was moving for now as she sat there in her bodyarmored suit with the cloak over it that was lined with datacrons and pads to let her research. An essex visor set up reviewing and showing her information about the ship.

"We are nearing the planet, remember your nightvision goggles and be prepared, the dark worlds are unknown even in the unknown regions." She stood up setting the autopilot to land them ont he planet as she was shifting the vision settings. Getting her equipment in a thigh pack, getting a secondary equipment pack. "It should be going well." She was looking at them and she had her padawan here. Selena was complicated when the zeltron stood there... she had heard and been on Zeltros seeing the reports of what went on it the bar which was why she hadn't brought alcohol on the ship. SHe had been working on a couple things until the jedi herself brought out her lightsaber from a compartment an d clipped it to her belt as she closed her poncho to look at them. Saka and her master a name she wasn't going to try and pronounce as a team to help them out.

It'd been awhile since I'd been on a mission with Master Serena. Recently we'd been focusing on Master and padawan training I'd constructed my sabers following the attack of the Sith on Kasshyyk. I'd also started....exploring my emotions and feelings with the help of Master Serena. Now we were once more headed to a virtually unknown place. Dark side shenanigans were likely going on and this time we'd partnered with another team of a Master and apprentice team. Master Serena mentioned night-vision goggles. Slipping my beskar'gam buy'ce on over my head I heard the seal pop and looking over at my Master I sent a quick message to her visor. "After this mission I'm going to be taking you out for a night to ourselves. Complete with some nice wine or Corellian whiskey?"

I locked my sabers into their thigh holsters and began pulling out my small carving knives and kept working on the project I'd spent months and whatever spare time I had on. By the end of this mission it'd be done probably and I could give it to who I wanted. I waited to feel landfall at which point I'd lock the little knives up and go out into the new planet with Master Serena. Checking to make sure I had the modified pistol holstered and covered I sat with music going through my buy'ce when Master Serena spoke the music would cut. For now though I simply worked on my carving project.

The offer to explore an ancient temple, let alone one with ties to the dark side, was a dangerous one. But danger was something that the Wookiee had known since his youth. He'd faced a katarn alone and won. He'd survived the grip of an anakkona. He'd fought through the depths of the shadowlands and made it through by unlocking his rrakktorr. Ancient temples couldn't be any worse than a place where spiders three times his size could hunt him silently.

Iakchi prepared his equipment as [member="Nameless One"] informed them that they were nearing the area. His double-bladed lightsaber hung at his hip, attached to a belt in a way that would allow him to quickly rip it off if needed. There could be anything up ahead, and the Wookiee would be ready for it.

His padawan, however, he wasn't so sure about. [member="Saka Amara"] was very good, but reserved. This would be an excellent teaching opportunity for her, but he worried it was too much too soon. Still, they were here. They would be doing this. And if needed he would protect her. And where possible he would teach her to protect herself.

She resisted the urge to rub at the new diamond marking that completed the pattern on her left hand. She hadn't entirely been able to keep from feeling it even when she was supposed to refrain from touching the tattoo until it healed properly; but Master Iakchi—her master, Saka thought with a now-familiar thrill of terror and elation—had made sure she got bacta patches and it had healed within a week. Any tenderness now was just her imagination.

Saka could feel when the ship's landing flaps opened. Not in the Force—well, she could sense that too, but she didn't need the Force to feel the ship suddenly slow. She was slightly too short for the turbulence harness, and the sudden slowing-down made the leather chafe against her throat.

While clouds streaked by the cockpits windows, the young Mirialan padawan turned her seat part of the way around and leaned her arm on the headrest so she could look back at her master and the Zeltron Jedi.

Padawan Amara was nervous.

"Do we have any intel on the size of this cult?"She didn't feel ready, but she hoped she would be. She'd never been on this type of dangerous assignment with Master Iakchi before. They spent several hours a day together, but she still very much had core studies to complete while they were in the Temple and not training. She lived very near her master now, but it wasn't as if they didn't have their own quarters.

Cutting the music in my headset I tuned into the other young woman's questions. Before Master Serena said anything I looked at the young woman and disabled the holographic display on my helm. Looking at her I said "Never trust the intel as it could have left things out. Ascertain for yourself, then base off of intel and what you yourself can verify." Smiling so she could see I wasn't simply an intense padawan I said "My name's Selena by the way. Nice to meet you....." I was intrigued to be working with another padawan and she seemed overall nice. A little nervous maybe but that was normal. Even having finished my sabers I still felt ill-prepared at times... Reaching into a pocket I pulled out a pack of gum. Stim-caf gum to be exact, from experience it gave a jolt of stim-caf as you chewed it and it usually helped calm my nerves.

Handing a pack over to her I said "Stim-caf gum. Helps keep you awake and alert, also helps out if you're nervous. At least it does for me, here have a pack I've got a few more so it's all good." I leaned back and waited for Master Serena to speak again and managed to hold my own tongue...

She looked at them and the questions were important while she looked at it. "Not much, reports from them have the numbers within several dozen. Maybe enough they could function like a small outpost or town." She brought up some of the information and here on the planet it was different. Jutting pillars of rock that were more natural with jagged sections around the trees. The overhanging clouds cast even the minimal light with a sense of gloom and there was water to be seen. THe blue green glowing algae within it and beneath the surface of it cast the malformed fish for them to see. Pale, mutated and as she moved to crouch down next to it it seemed to almost react to her being there.

"The region we are in though it is likely they are trying to be seen by groups like the Kanzer, death cults don't always take kindly to another group moving into their territory." She said it with a small shrug but was examining the stone itself, warm to the touch, fused black stone that didn't show signs it was worked but it was smooth. "It is warm." She said it looking out with the goggles and adjusting them to see the temple itself.... or what there was. It wasn't exactly the most visible thing with the darkness, the black stone of the planet had been as it seemed to drink int he light within it. The small windows that she could find barely had any illumination while what people she could find o thermal were shrouded. Wearing black veils over their faces.

The Wookiee studied the display closely, trying to take in as much information about the terrain as possible. To him, knowing the terrain was perhaps the most important thing to survival in a new place, though he always acknowledged that the locals would be far wiser than him with it. For this mission, however, the land didn't seem all too foreign. Stone pillars, dense forests, water with fish that seemed mutated yet natural. The difference however was the obscurity of the light.

"Is the darkness going to be a problem?" he asked in his native tongue, eyes never leaving the display. "It doesn't look like it'll stop us from seeing well enough, but are there animals that use it? Some sort of Force wound, maybe?"

The Shadowlands were darker, much more occluded than what he could see of this planet. And in that dense blackness hid a variety of beings who cared only for appeasing their appetites. If there were anything like them here, he wanted to know. Not only for his sake, but for that of his padawan. His eyes flicked over to her momentarily, concerned for the well-being of the Mirialan.

She was distracted enough by worrying that she actually jolted when the other Padawan spoke to her " Well met Selena," the Mirialan managed a weak smile as she accepted the packet of Stim-caf gum from the Echani hybrid. Taking more than one gum to still her nerves for the task ahead.

Looking at the two of them while she was moving the jedi herself crouched down low. Walking past the river, past the stones and towards the outlying area. The stone and fire looked dimmer then one would think but she was uncertain about what might be able to happen here. Removing the night vision goggles as she replaced them with the eyes of Je'gan to see illusions and cloaked or things that might be invisible. She was moving quietly and brushed herself off when she motioned for the others to approach and her transformation to jedi librarian was complete with the glasses themselves. "THis way, I don't know if I would suggest the water."

"I wholeheartedly agree," Saka nodded repeatedly in agreement at the Zeltrons words, glancing back to her master who was a few feet behind her and the Zeltron jedi. "What's the plan? do we draw them out or do we sneak in?" She asked quietly to both the Jedi knights, her nerves finally stilled by the stim-caf gum.

The Mirialan had maybe instinct was the right word. "That's actually brilliant, one pair to observe, then infiltrate and one to provide support. If I might make an observation though?" Walking over to the Wookie knight I patted his fur "Your fur may help with being part of an observer team due to it being able to muffle sound." Looking at the Mirialan young woman I said "I've got your back." Then flashing her a wolfish grin I put the V for victory sign up I looked at Master Serena well at least I knew she was here for me. Time for shenanigans....

The touch took Iakchi by surprise, especially as most padawans he'd met for the first time were too afraid of him to even approach, let alone put a hand on his fur. For some growing up on Kashyyyk it seemed not enough to be around Wookiees to get over their fear. For [member="Selena Drayven"] however it seemed not a problem, something that gave him confidence for this mission.

"Observation I can do," he replied in his native tongue. "Plus I'm a bigger target if anything goes south, if there's anyone in there they'll be focused on me and not any of you."

The idea of sending the two padawans off to do... something was less appealing but she wasn't going to be snotty about it. "Alright but the two of you be careful." She said it and looking towards the building crouched down checking out some parts of it. She trusted the padawans had the skills otherwise they wouldn't have brought them to this place.. so that was a plus... she didn't know any history really though but had heard an incident on zeltros happened... which didn't mean much. That was kind of like saying there was hair on a wookiee things happened on zeltros. She was motioning and moving with herself in a small crouch. while she pointed towards the one entrance and windows. "Those should be a good way to get inside."

Looking back towards our respective Masters I said "Aye Master, we'll look out for each other." Looking towards the Wookie Master I said "I'll watch out for her Master." Looking at the Mirialan young woman I nodded in an opposite direction and took off. Surveillance and infiltration seemed simple enough. Though odds were this was going to be anything but simple hopefully I could fulfill my promise to watch out for the Mirialan young woman....
