What now?

So, I'm facing a serious problem.
I'm beginning to see a pattern in everything I'm creating: EVERYTHING IS RUNNING AGROUND. No real progress. IN ANYTHING. And the muse slips away before I can really try to think of a way to fix it.
Not only that, but then I get to looking at the "serious RPers" and how they right as well as their bios. I begin to doubt my own average abilities, telling myself "Face it. I'll never be that good...".
And then, some of the people who are the key to many of my characters' development start leaving. Making it exceedingly difficult for me to move on, seeing as how my awesome plans are brought to a sudden and unexpected halt.
I'm tired of this constantly happening to me. I want to find a way to either A) avoid it, or B ) Find a means of working through it that doesn't involve leaving for months only to return and find out that everything's changed.
Any tips or ideas?

[member="Len Sin"] when it comes to writing don't compare yourself to others, it won't end well, you'll lose steam quickly if all you try and do is mirror someone else and it won't be as fun. Find the style that works for you and that you can be proud of.

Now as for the rest, yeah investing characters with others is hard i did it with a few and have been trying to find ways to pull them back so they could do their own thing. SOmetimes it works and sometimes you have to find creative ways to fix it. If you want someone to rp with I am always around and easy going enough.

Here is the best advice I could give. Don’t give up. I’ll be honest. Some here know this and some don’t. I have a reading writing disorder known as Dysgraphia. Despite the hardships over the years of trying to rp/ write I’ve kept going. There have been good days and there has been bad. Over the years I have made some good friends. My muse have come and gone. I’ve had peeks of long activity and then there is times I had to take LOA for real life personal reason that mostly had to do with work or my children. Never give in though, your muse will come and go through but never gauge your own strengths and weakness by others.

Ideas and tips? Nah, you don't need them for the most part. All you can do is keep pushing. First thing to learn is that characters almost never go the way we intended them to, and sometimes when they do, they get boring. Change things up every now and then, roll with the punches. Let your character grow on his/her own. They should be a living thing, not just words on a screen. If someone leaves, try to finish the story out in your head, use fillers. The experience will come with time. Some days you'll be able to write massive paragraphs, others you'll wonder why you can only get out a few sentences. It happens. And regardless of what anybody might say, there's no 'big' roleplayers here. We're all just a bunch of Star Wars nerds wanting to have fun, so never be afraid to ask a staff member or a judge, or someone you think won't have the time for you.

TL;DR: Just be yourself, dude.

Nicely put everyone. There's not much to add. I haven't been here long and the way that I fought the slow times was to just create more threads with different people. New people as well :) I look for ideas in the discussion page and help out where I can. I also message others and see if we can work together. It's just amazing what we all create here together.

This is very normal. You're not doing anything wrong. Everybody has been there. All of us. So don't stress it. You're doing great. :D

Enjoy your writing, love for the present, and be free. Always. Be free.
