What Should Be A Routine Check

“Lieutenant, a ship has just breached the border. We are ready to intercept.” The words interrupted the silence of the armoury as they entered Jaccer’s ear via his communication system. Pressing the button that control frequencies, he connected to the bridge “Understood. Me and a unit of Maelstrom force will dispatch shortly.” Without a moment of hesitation, the lieutenant began his short journey to the armoury where the soldiers were currently stationed.

As Ramirez arrived at the barracks, he barked orders to his men, “Okay ladies, it's time we move out. Gear up and grab your weapons, we’re going hunting!” Without a moment of hesitation, the soldiers jumped from their beds and began to equip themselves with their standard issue weapons and armour. Most of them did not take beyond the minimum as it seemed the mission would be simple but some, including Jaccer, grabbed some extra grenades and a X-60 Happy Boomer. His mentality was like that of many of soldiers, it was always better to be over prepared than underprepared.

Equipped and ready for battle, the ground units began their way to the boarding shuttles. “Departure time in 2 minutes. Repeat, departure time in 2 minutes.” The tannoy system spoke out in a consistent and robotic voice as the soldier loaded onto the small shuttle. 5 shuttles would move out, each with a unit of 6 soldiers. This was a sizeable force and was surely enough to take out what resistant was on the cruiser. They expected opposition to be sparse, if there was any, so most of the soldiers were family relaxed about the situation at hand.

Finally, the shuttle was given the all clear to leave the hangar. The tannoy system fired up and spoke once again, this time from within the shuttle. “ETA in 5 minutes.”

“Lock and load. I don't want any casualties on this mission. It'll look bad on all our reps…”

@T'zanith Zebron

Staring out the window of his room as he ate a Muja fruit, picking up another and leaving his room as the ship left hyperspace. He had been invited by the ships captain to observe a routine patrol of the One sith borders around the vicinity of the republic. So far it had been a boring one but at the current rate he at least got to get out of the temple on Coruscant.

Walking passed a few troops that saluted him he let out a slight suck of his teeth in annoyance. He hated seeing the phantoms around him, at least that was what they were to him as every force user was a sort of opaque in his eyes some even were a little blurry if they had next to no connection to the force. Entering the bridge he saluted the captain of the cruiser with a cursory bow like nod before he came up to the command platform. "How are we doing so far captain brooks?" He said before biting into the second Muja fruit, causing a little drop of red-orange juice to leak down his chin which he promptly wiped away with his thumb. After a few moments the alarms began blaring and T'zanith looked around then at the Captain. "What is going on?!" He then shouted at the captain the was in a hurry to alert the crew and get the gunnery crews to their stations so that the ship was as ready as it possibly could be.

[member="Jaccer Ramirez"]

A sudden swerve in the ship's path caused Jaccer to gag slightly. He had never liked flying and these manoeuvres were not helping. "What's happening out there? Pilot, report immediately!" The soldier barked through his comm that was located in his ear. Before he heard a response his hand and the earpiece were nearly thrown from their position by another violent turn. The ship had without a doubt come in contact with some sort of complications, as the shuttle was attempting evasive actions.

"We are encountering resistant from the ship. It's defiantly hostile!" The pilot reported back, "It isn't much, so we should be able to make it to the hangar without serious damage." What the pilot had said allowed a wave of relief wash over Jaccer and his team. But what lay inside the ship was still a mystery and a potentially lethal one.

A jolt shook the cabin as the gravity of the hangar took effect over the ship. But the pilot had decided to not land. Instead, he released a hail of blaster fire upon the enemy ground units that awaited their arrival. Sure more would arrive shortly, however this gave the unit a few precious minutes in which they could begin to start planning some tactics and preform survey of the situation.

Another shock as a missile hit the side of the ship caused T'zanith to go down on one knee as he looked around. "Captain you told me that you wouldn't go near the border, At least not close enough so that the republic would attack!" He shouted as he stood again and looked at the captain angrily, his first real expression since he boarded the ship.

"Well due to this I invited you along, A sith would help us against a boarding party like this!" Captain brook said back at him, a slight panic showing on the captains distinguishably old face. The man must have been in his late forties or even in his early fifties but he had a distinguished and honor bound type of look to him.

T'zanith looked at the man and then took out his knife. "This is my weapon I have no lightsaber you Kava doompa D'emperiolo stoopa!" He cursed at the man. "I'm only an acolyte and not even a proper one yet!" He said with a growl in his voice, causing the sudden realization of his error to appear on the old captain's face.

Brooks bowed apologetically. "I'm sorry my lord this is an error solely on my part. I didn't ask if you had either the training or the weaponry to accompany us. As an apology for my brash actions I will have a shuttle ready to take you back to Coruscant in hangar bay three, at the back of the ship, it stays closed during our trips and it is only made ready in case of emergency evacuation of critical personnel." The old main said as he the walked to a console and showed T'zanith the way on the ships schematics but it would bring him through the adjacent corridor that would lead to the other two open hangars that now had been boarded.

"E chu ta... fine I thank you captain for that but don't you have to evacuate as well?" T'zanith asked but then noted the look on the old captains face. "Captain goes down with his ship huh? damn shame, we could use admirals as honorable as him..." The miralukan half-breed muttered to himself as he hurriedly walked the way to the secrete hangar, accompanied by four guards to help him evacuate.

After a brief scout of the corridors that were ahead, the teams were ready to move out. "I want 3 teams to head down the right corridor and secure that side of the ship. My unit and the remaining will be heading down the left corridor to hopefully secure the next hangar." The first three teams lead off, weapons drawn and point in every direction.

Before the remaining teams, including the lieutenant, made a move he gave some words of advice. "Safety off. Expect everybody and anybody to be hostile. If you must, shoot on sight." Slight clicks could be head from the various blasters and slugthrowers as the weapons were being prepared for combat. The cramped metal corridors of the ship were likely to ricochet the various projectiles that the weapons were firing, so hopefully the forces of the ship would be pushovers and surrender easily. The group of 12 continued down the stretches of walkways. Nobody had been seen so far, but the sound of footsteps promised a change in this.

"Put down your weapons!" One of the squad members shouted at the group heading down the corridor. There was 5 of them in total and it seemed Jaccer's forces outgunned them. Even though it seemed like an encounter the lieutenant and his men would easily win, it didn't hurt to make sure. He gestured his hand to the 6 soldiers that hadn't appeared around the corner, this gesture was telling them to flank around and come up behind the enemy. This manoeuvre would take a few minutes as the ship's layout was still unknown to the men.

Stopped as he heard one of the republic forces yell for him to put down his weapons. The Troopers escorting him stopped and looked at one another before they aimed at the trooper and called out. "No you shall drop your weapons!" They exclaimed but a little thought came to T'zanith as he gestured for them to lower their weapons as he then began to play on the illusion that he was truly blind. "Wait who is yelling at us? how long until we reach the shuttle?" He said out loud as he didn't move his head at all and seamed to be looking off in the distance. Slowly he began to take a few steps forward with his hands outstretched, as if he was preventing himself from walking into a wall. "Are you the republic forces that are attacking this cruiser? What right do you have to do that we are well within the borders of the one sith..." He stopped and then turned his head to the side as if he was addressing the troopers behind him. "Aren't we?" What he was really doing is getting his vision focused enough so that he could know just how many there were in front of him and he'd need to get through.

"Drop your weapons and kick them to us." One of Jaccer's soldiers ordered. Surprisingly the enemies seemed to be pushovers and complied to the requests with little resistance. "Chain them up and get them ready for transportation." The lieutenant told his soldiers as they began to completely surround the five men.

"No, stop." Jaccer said to one soldier who was about to contain the young seemingly blind boy, "I'll take him back to the shuttle. To safety." It didn't seem this person had any place on this highly militarised ship. A blind boy couldn't be much use in any part of the ship. Perhaps he was a prisoner, a slave? Who knew, all Jaccer knew was that he needed to get him to safety. "Unfortunately for you and the population of this ship, you overstepped the border. And we have jurisdiction here." He explained as he lead the young teenager to the first hangar by a firm grip of his arm.

"Don't worry, you'll be safe and heading for home soon."

once he heard he'd be safe he looked around and seeing there weren't that many people around them he smirked deviously. "Actually I am, you however aren't." He said as he used a telekinetic push at Jaccer to push him away from T'zanith. Once Jaccer had landed T'zanith slowly began to walk toward him. "Really? aren't' you supposed to be a commando? and you've never seen miralukan's before have you huh?" He said mockingly as he pulled out his knife, in the back of his mind however he felt a little underwhelmed by the fact he didn't have an actual lightsaber which when he really thought about it was much more intimidating than a knife ever could be. "Now stand down and let me go on my way and I won't be forced to hurt you." He said then as he began to take a few steps back, though something made him feel that revealing himself like that had been a bad decision in the long run.

"A miraluka? Heard of 'em, but never killed one. Guess this will be my first." The soldier smiled as he arose from the position he was pushed to. Before Jaccer was able to make another snide remark on the pain he was about to dish out, he was distracted by the weapon of choice of this boy. A knife. A slight giggle could've heard from the lieutenant as he eyed the knife, "Ever heard the term 'don't bring a bread knife to a gun fight'?" Jaccer pulled up his rifle ready to take a shot.

His finger slowly squeezed the trigger, but before the red plasma was launched from the barrel he released his grip. Even for a hardcore soldier, like Jaccer, killing someone who couldn't of been older than 20 was pretty dark. He would give the boy one more chance.

"One more chance. Surrender, let me take you into custody and we'll all leave in one piece." As he said this, the knife in his combat belt was slowly removed by Jaccer's free hand. If the Sith would attempt anything this hand, along with the knife would be prepared to counter.

He was ready to jump to the side if the soldier decided to shoot him but when he switched weapons T'zanith couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that. "I'm sorry but I have a shuttle to get to and I can't allow you to stop me... but if it's any consolation your the first person I've meet that I seem to be forced to fight at least." He said as he took a Stava attack stance, but still kept backing away from the probably more experienced soldier. With a last ditch effort he pushed with the force at the lieutenant's rifle to at least make sure he wouldn't be able to shoot him in the back if he was forced to run, but it was now clear that using the force was hard for him since he hadn't had enough training with the force.
With a few figuring steps he furrowed his brows as he got ready to take whatever attack the soldier would use against him first.

"I didn't need it." He told the young Sith, referring to his rifle that now lay on the far corner of the corridor. Bringing his knife up into clear view, his opponent would see what it really looked like. It was a giant knife. Some may even refer to it as a machete. It was far different from a regular, standard issue knife. This one was carved with an array of patterns and writing, done by Jaccer himself. Perpendicular to the sharpened blade was a spiked surface, this would tear the flesh from person's body when pulled out. It was one nasty piece of equipment,

Attempting to attack quickly and wo out warning, the lieutenant lunged at the man and viciously closed the distance between the two. Now they were less than a meter apart, he thrust his knife out aiming for the torso of the boy.

With a look of surprise he took a step back, clearly not expecting the man to so quickly close the distance with him, even knowing he was a sith. With a slight jerk of his body he barely got his own knife in a sweep to deflect the knife to the side. A sense of thankfulness that his reflexes were as good as they were for if they weren't he'd probably be skewered by now. He then thrust his fist forward to hit the mans shoulder, hoping to hit his nerves that were placed there, but the mans armor made sure he could get a good hit. With a sidestep back he assumed the stava knife fighting stance and began to look at the man quite differently. "If only I actually had a lightsaber this might have been over by now." He thought as he turned his knife to face downwards and began to slowly back away. "This cruiser will not be the death me and I won't be coming out of it a prisoner either!"

Unfortunately for Jaccer, his attempted attack did not connect. The young boy managed to block and then follow with a counter attack. The counter seemed rushed and was easily evaded by the more experienced soldier, but his hand managed to swipe his soldier. It was a very powerful hit and Jaccer managed to recover quickly, ready to attack again.

Deciding to go for a different approach, Jaccer swept his leg out and tied to make it connect with the knee of the young boy. Depending on strength of the stance of his opponent, they would either be knocked of their feet or forced to stumble forward. Either way, the kick would be quickly followed up by a slash aimed at the lower arm of his opponent and would hopefully disarm him. If Jaccer could just get that knife away from his foe, this encounter would be over quickly.

@T'zanith Zebron

When the kick came he was barely ready and his leg had only slightly adjusted when it landed on his knee. With a loud grunt he fell to one knee, the one that had been kicked felt like it was about to come apart at the tendons. "Gah!" He let out as he brought up his knife to counter the slash, but it was thrown out of his hand and his arm was cut.

"It's not deep, it's just pain." He began to repeat over and over in his head as he then burst up and hit the back of the soldiers hand followed by one to his wrist and to his elbow. With a hope he could at least try to disarm him so they would be at the same playing field, but he knew the man was stronger and more experienced than him and all he could hope for was to drag it out until he saw a chance to escape from him.

The brief combo was successful. Jaccer had managed to disarm his opponent. But now was not time for celebration, as he was also disarmed shortly after by a quick three hit move to his lower arm. The knife Jaccer had previously been planning to stick this boy to the wall with had now been dropped to floor and ended up in a similar place to the Sith's knife. Luckily for Jaccer, and unluckily for T'zanith, the soldier was trained in multiple fighting techniques. He knew a wide range of fighting styles, but they all had one thing in common, they were all lethal.

Not allowing the boy to savour his minor victory, Jaccer launched an arm towards him. The punch was aimed towards the abdomen and would hopefully wind him. Following the punch was a right hook, this was aimed at the head of his opponent particularly the temple. He was hoping for a knockout... Or to break the boys skull. As long as it subdued him it didn't matter.

T'zanith's smile was short lived after he had disarmed the soldier as he was punched in the gut. His Breath left his lungs and he was then hit into the temple and he was sent flying in a spiral back, but he managed to exert a single force push at the soldier so that he'd be forced away from him.
Everything was spinning and his eyes were unfocused stumbling up he looked around only to shake his head as he saw two of Jaccer before him.
"Who is this guy?!" He thought as he tried to focus back at the man but the last hit made his head ring out and the throbbing pain in his gut made that a near impossibility for him to achieve.

"Can't you just let me go?" He then asked as he rubbed the side of his temple while the other hand was used to shakily try, and in vain I might add, try and throw a nearby small crate at the man, only to just lightly pull it of the crate it was placed upon.

The force push cause Jaccer to stumble backwards and land on his backside. As someone with no connection to the force, Jaccer found these magicians increasingly annoying in a sustained fight. Luckily, this Sith was weak. If it was a knight or higher it would be likely that this battle would be over by now.

"Why would I let you go now? I already gave you a chance!" Jaccer shouted, beginning a short sprint to close the distance between the two.

Unclipping a pair of AEL TerentAttack Cuffs from his belt. He would be much more of an assistance to the Republic alive. Jaccer couldn't help but think about the possibilities if this boy was brought into custody. The information there was to gain from his could be extremely helpful.

@T'zanith Zebron

'Again he's coming at me? What's wrong with this guy?!' T'zanith thought as he saw the soldier come sprinting towards him and looked around for anything to use against the man. Seeing a pair of wrenches he picked them up and threw one head long at [member="Jaccer Ramirez"] but sprinted towards him after the wrench aiming the other at a two handed uppercut straight into his jaw. 'If the republics forces are like this no wonder we have to potrole the borders.' Was a thought that soon left as it entered T'zanith's mind before he was head to head with the soldier noticing to late that the man had something in his hands but he couldn't make it out since the man himself was a non-force user and thus very blurry in the eyes of the half-miralukan.

Unfortunately for Jaccer, he only noticed the wrench as it neared his face. Throwing his hands up for protection caused the wrench to harmlessly bounce off his forearms and fall to the floor with a clatter of metal on metal. However, as he lowered his arms he was hit. Hit hard. Yet another wrench connected with his body, this time it reached its target of the soldiers jaw. Immense pain travelled throughout Jaccer's body as his jaw was dislodged.

With his jaw dislocated and his head spinning, Jaccer was struggling to regain any knowledge of where he was. Shaking his head, reality suddenly appeared once again. 'How did I get down here?' Jaccer thought as he noticed his new position spread across the floor, the AEL Attack Cuffs he had originally planned on using were know across the corridor, just out of his arms reach. They were useless to him now. Guess he'd have to bring the boy back unconscious... Or not at all.

Rising to his feet, the lieutenant decided he would assume a defensive position as his offensive strategy did not seem to be working against his opponent.

T'zanith couldn't believe it when the second wrench connected with the soldiers jaw, let alone that it would make the man fall down. Taking a few steps back he looked around and saw the way out of the hangar. 'This is my chance' He thought as he dropped the wrench and began to run toward the exit. He wasn't as fast as he could be since the fight had drained him and he wanted nothing more than to get off the ship as soon as possible.

An explosion at the aft of the ship caused a small quake across the ship and T'zanith staggered as he tried to hold his balance. Using a nearby crate he kept his balance but he then began to run again but he looked back to see what his enemy was doing or if he had gotten up after his hit. 'Phodo' He thought as he saw Jaccer standing and already in a stance to fight. in the time it took him to stand up T'zanith had managed to get a 15-20 meter head start from the soldier one which the young man intended to broaden as his legs began to put in even more effort to run while their owner moved his head and focused solely on the exit. 'It's now or never!' Exhoced through his mind as he saw the exit 60 meters away from him.
