What to do when the world's against you

'I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
And everything left’s a waste of time...'
Outside of his headphones, Akon could hear nothing but the sound of music and his own heartbeat. He cringed slightly as a feeling of emptiness rushed inside him, but it was okay because it was only natural. His eyes closed, he silently nodded his head to the lyrics, lost in his own fantasy world.

'Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me
Told you everything loud and clear'
The words soothed his soul in a way nobody could possibly understand. They gave him a way out when there seemed to be none, a shining pathway on a road of darkness.

'But nobody's list-'
A soft tap on his shoulder woke him up from his daze. Looking to his left, he saw a man on the seat next to him. That's when he realized he was on a bus. When had he got on? The question phased him for a few seconds before he shook it off. Finally getting out of the man's way, he walked to the exit as well and stepped off the bus. Looking around, he seemed to be in the upper-class part of Coruscant. Strange.

Walking through upper Coruscant was so different. Everywhere Kayvaan looked there were only politicians, nobles, diplomats, etc.. Many were discussing business while eating expensive meals in restaurants or cafes. Others were buying expensive things which were completely useless. It was as if he had entered a different world. He had been to the lower city just a couple of minutes ago and down there no one had expensive things. Everyone was dirty and poor. No one cared for one another. Everyone was just trying to survive to see the next day. Mostly because of the many gangs and syndicates that ruled the streets of lower Coruscant. They were killing whoever they wanted and robbing whoever they wanted. And the worst part about it was ... No one did anything to stop them. It was terrible in the lower parts of Coruscant and no one here minded that, but his thoughts were interrupted when he accidentally bumped into someone. The man he had bumped into was a bit shorter than he was and he had headphones on. The music he was listening to was loud. ''I'm sorry.'' The young man said. The man with the headphones probably wouldn't hear him, but Kayvaan still apologized.

I'm gonna call it a day. I'll reply tomorrow. Just so you won't wonder why I won't reply sooner.

Yet another interruption came, but this time Akon wasn't so nice as to simply disregard it. Pulling a bud out of his left ear, he turned to face the man who had bumped into him. "You wanna explain to me just what that was all about?" His teeth gritted as he let his anger show, his eyes pulsating red for a brief moment. The imposer of peace was a little taller than him, and he had... ears? The fact washed over him like water as he maintained his unrelenting glare. "I asked you a question, punk."

The man turned to Kayvaan and asked why he had bumped into him. He seemed pretty angry and for a moment Kayvaan could swear the man's eyes glared red. He asked again, He seemed like he wouldn't let Kayvaan get out of this situation that easily. ''I'm really sorry, it was an accident. I didn't mean to cause any harm, I was just lost in thoughts and didn't notice where I was walking.'' He said. He hoped the man would accept his apology or at least calm down a bit. Kayvaan didn't want to fight anyone.

As the fox-man apologized, Akon let his glare die down a little. He seemed to be a fairly timid man, and wasn't really interested in fighting him. Still staring at him for a few more seconds, Akon placed the bud back in his ear. "Watch your back." He shoved past him and continued walking.

''Again, I'm sorry.'' Kayvaan said when the man pushed past him. Thankful that the situation hadn't escalated into a fight he walked on, but stopped when he realized that the other man was Force sensitive. He looked back to the man to see if he was too far away already, luckily he wasn't. So Kayvaan walked back up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. He hoped the man wouldn't get too angry about it, after all he seemed like he didn't like to be bothered.

Akon hadn't gotten too far away before he was disturbed again, by the same man. Sighing frustratedly, he once more removed the ear bud and looked him in the eyes, the annoyance showing. "Can i help you? Or maybe you're just asking to be found in an alley. What do you want?"

''I just noticed that you are Force sensitive, so I wanted to know if you, by chance, are a Jedi. I've been looking for one for almost a day now.'' He said. Although Kayvaan doubted that the man was a Jedi, maybe he was lucky and the man really was one. And if not he hoped it was a Dark Jedi, since maybe then he could ask him about some things that he had learned recently.

"Force... sensitive?" Akon looked perplexed by the idea, as if he had never heard the term. "Look, I don't know what you're getting at, and I really don't want to know. And I'm not a Jedi. Those guys with their weird powers like pushing people around... like... like invisible hands...." He faltered as realization struck him. He had used similar powers before. They were beyond his control, but often followed from pain. Is that what they called people like that? Force sensitive? He shook his head. Too much thinking. "You should go to their temple, there should be one there. I'm not a Jedi."

''Wait maybe I just ... no, I couldn't have made a mistake, you are Force sensitive. I'm sure of it, but maybe you're just unaware of it'' Kayvaan said with a friendly expression. After all the man didn't seem to like the Jedi much. So he continued ''And about the the Jedi Temple, let's just say I'm not on good terms with most of the Jedi. They would probably either not listen to me or try to punish me for a thing I did in the past as soon as I get near the temple. So I was just wondering if you were one, since I haven't seen you at the temple during my time as a Padawan.'' 'Damn it' He thought and then hit his forehead with his palm. He had revealed his past associations to a complete stranger which, in most cases, wasn't such a good idea.

Akon shook his head this time, starting to walk away. "I'm not a teacher by any means. I can't even control why I can do. you-" He stopped as he heard screaming behind him. Turning around, he saw a man holding a woman hostage, with a small blaster pointed at his head. Akon's eyes turned to slits as he weighed his options. It wasn't really his business, but he figured he'd might as well help this once. Sighing, he looked at the other man. "Punch me. As hard as you can. And please do it before this lady dies."

A scream could be heard behind Kayvaan. I was a woman and when he turned around he saw she was being held hostage by a man with a blaster. He wanted to run in and hit the man, but that was too risky. The man would probably notice if Kayvaan drew his weapon and then he would shoot the woman. But before he could think about something else the man he had just talked to asked Kayvaan to punch him. It was an unusual request, to say the least, but the man looked sure, as if he knew what he was doing. ''Sorry'' he said before he punched the man as hard as he could.

The pain registered immediately, and Akon's eyes flashed red, beginning to glow. "I suggest you close your eyes, unless you want to have nightmares tonight." He sent amental message to the woman to do the same before his power took full effect. Once it did, he stared directly into the eyes of the man. Whatever he had seen as a result of the glare had made him immediately drop his blaster and begin screaming. As soon as he did, the woman ran away, but not before kicking the blaster away. When this happened, Akon closed his eyes tightly so nobody else would experience the effects. It took another minute for the pain to die down, and in effect the power, but he eventually opened his eyes again.

Doing as the man had advised, Kayvaan closed his eyes. He could only hear something falling to the ground and a scream. The scream came from a man so the woman had probably already escaped. Then after everything was almost completely quiet and the speeders that flew by were the only thing that could be heard, Kayvaan opened his eyes again. He looked around and then at the man he had to punch just a couple of seconds ago. Then he asked ''How ... what ... how did you do that?''

@[member="Akon Devoda"]

Blinking a few times, Akon finally gazed back at the fox-man. "I have powers... But they're most easily brought out with pain. That is something I learned when I was young. Looking into my eyes at that point causes extreme suffering. People see visions. Bad ones. Then that happens." He motioned to th still sobbing man on his knees.

''I see. I think those powers you're talking about are Force powers. Force Fear to be specific. I remember reading about that in a book, it was said to be a power used by Dark Siders. Seems like you have a talent for that.'' He said and chuckled. ''I kind of am a Dark Sider myself. Maybe we could train together someday?'' Kayvaan said. True, he was not very advanced in the Dark Arts of the Force, but he was learning them. He also may be a pacifist, but that doesn't mean he can't be a Master of the Dark Side. He would just not be as strong as many others were and he was fine with that. After all, his goal in live wasn't power, it was knowledge.

Sorry for making you wait.

(OOC: Don't worry about it man)

Akon thought about the prospect for a few seconds before shaking his head. "No can do. Never was a team player." He figured the man might want a more elaborate explanation, so he gave one. "I just don't like people. No friends, no family. It's just me, and that's how its always been." His ear twitched as he noticed a new song come on through his headphones. Both of them dangled across his neck now, but the music was loud enough.

'Iiiiiii'mm tearing away...'
A pretty appropriate song for him, he reasoned. "Look, the only advice I can give you is to not follow me. For your sake. Where i'm going, you would stand out like a sore thumb. And to be honest, I don't want to be having to save your ass if some gang decides to pick on you."

Kayvaan could kind of relate to the man. He had been isolated for the most part of his life and was only able to get to learn new things for the last twelve years of his life, which was about a tenth of his lifetime. So he was used to going alone as well, but he didn't like it that way. He knew how lonely it was sometimes, so he decided that it would be better for both of them to have some company for a change. ''I've been alone for most of my life as well and I know it's sometimes better that way, but it's still better to have some people you can rely on. Oh and don't think I can't defend myself just because I am against violence. I have been to the lower city of Coruscant many times and I have been in a fair share of fights already.'' Kayvaan paused for a moment, realizing that he didn't know the other man's name. So he decided to ask, hoping that would make him a bit more friendly towards Kayvaan. ''By the way, what's your name?''

@[member="Akon Devoda"]

"My name's Akon." Okay, the stranger had gotten his name out of him. He still wasn't to keen on having a fox following him around like a lost puppy. "You really aren't getting it, are you? I'm not a social butterfly. I don't hang out with anyone. And I'll be damned if I wind up ruining the image of respect I have by traveling around with you. Get the picture?"

''Akon, I see. I'm Kayvaan.'' He said with a smile. He extended his hand and pretended to not notice the very last part of @[member="Akon Devoda"]'s sentence. ''Oh and don't worry, I'm not a big fan of socializing either. I just thought it would be fun going to the lower city and taking on a couple of bandits and gangsters. And if it's about my appearance, well, you'll just have to get used to it'' He said. He probably wouldn't stop bugging Akon until he would accept his offer. He was like that sometimes. One moment Kayvaan is completely silent and focused on observing, the other he's talking to everyone and asking them about everything.
