"Horrors, I believe, should be original--the use of common myths and legends being a weakening influence."
- H.P. Lovecraft -

There are very few planets or regions of the galaxy that possess a frightening ambience that travelers effortless avoid, but none are my terrifying than the mysterious alternate dimension known as Otherspace, where rumors of monstrous creatures such as Charons and the legend of Waru, along with other menacing creatures scattered all across the barren planets of the dimension that have given birth to these space tales. But are these just tales, stories from the mouth of drunken ship captains and crews, or is there a sobering truth to these outspoken words?

There is another rumor, a legend to those that believe the old tales from the Jedi Luke Skywalker, that within Otherspace on some barren and near-lifeless planet resides a mythical energy field simply known as
Anti-Force capable of unknown power. Very little is known about this energy field, or more importantly, what exploitations could be bartered from harnessing such a powerful flow of energy? And how would such energy be contained? If it could be contained, how can it be weaponized? And if it could be weaponized, what would be the catastrophic effects from such ruthless and devastating weapon?

The Dark Empire was always looking for ways to tip the scales of galactic politics in their favor, be it through manipulative political agendas or through more aggressive negotiations, the cogs of the Empire were always spinning. And as such, the ruling body of the Empire had dispatched me and a companion, Onrai Onrai , aboard the Shattering Storm, a Defiance-class Star Destroyer, to seek out such an advantage. Upon hearing this assignment, I was skeptical at first, but after pouring hours of research into this Anti-Force energy field from the little-known documentations on the subject; my skepticism turned to one of curiosity. I wondered if it was actually possible to utilize such an energy for numerous applications, if such a field existed.

But finding ways to harness the energy was only but one of the problems we were tasked with, the first was finding a way into this alternate dimension known as Otherspace. We were able to obtain coordinates to the area where this element rested, but first we needed to find it and gain entrance. If successful, the tedious exploration of Otherspace would begin and our search for this Ati-Force would begin.

Not one for space travel, I paced the mighty warship religiously to stave off boredom. Being undead, the concept of sleep is non-existence to my kind; though I have discovered a form of sleep which is more like a deep meditation I call The Cold Sleep. However, my anticipation and excitement on this outing refused my mind to slow down, and instead it was racing as if it was trying to catch black rainbows. And of my companion, the other chosen for this assignment, had yet to make an appearance. Personally, I didn't know her, never experiencing interactions in any form with her, but I have heard of her. The word unique was quite literally used a lot in the answers given to me after making inquiries about her. And as the ship hurled through the streaking linear blue lights of hyperspace, all I could do was wait.

Onrai was not the biggest fan of welcoming new people into her world.

The domain of Otherspace was, for the most part, her own - the resources she had invested in its discovery and development over the decades had been deliberately expended in order to ensure her a steady stream of followers, as well as the necessary resources to accomplish any more material ambitions within the galaxy as she yet needed. To a degree, given the Imperial infighting of the council, it was the leverage she could exert in one's favor. More recent circumstances, such as the observation of the Imperial Executor being able to travel to her own pocket dimension, had only further made her wary given the potential for an Imperial to attempt to accuse her of treachery for holding such a reserve force together.

Not that it would matter. Vianism would survive past the death of the Dark Empire.

A message would be sent to Moskvin, requesting that she come down to the surface of the planet. Perhaps an odd request, but the message indicated that to travel to Otherspace, she would need to do such. Evidently, Onrai was waiting for her there.
