Private What Will You Do?

"What will you do when they take everything away?"

The words rang through the consciousness of the Lupine. In her own mind and in her own voice yet it seemed so odd, so strange. The voice came on the eve of yet more in what became a regular string of horrific, mind rending nightmares. It elicited such trauma enough to wake anyone up with an adrenaline pumping, heart throbbing, gut wrenching panic dripped in a thick sweat. Pain. The pain came swiftly after the sights and sounds of her chamber returned and it came with a deafening ringing noise, the pressure on her mind, on her head was so profound. It built and built until she felt as if it would crack the hard bone of the lupine's skull and spray brain matter across the walls. Even for a battle hardened warrior the sights, and sounds witnessed in the endless nightmare were profoundly disturbing sights. It came with vaguely visible figures. The horrific acts afflicted on them were only vaguely visible. It was the sounds of cutting, ripping, tearing flesh. The sound of snapping bone that was torn out through muscle and delicate sinew. The spatter of blood and hot breath like a heated fog blasted into her face, it was so thick she could smell it through the air. The voices were familiar enough to elicit panic deep inside yet foreign enough that it remained just out of reach.
Until it got worse, much worse.
The nightmares got worse as the screen of obscurity began to lift to reveal bit by bit her predicament. Sometimes she was being held down while other times she was shackled. How it happened was a mystery yet it was quite clear amidst the nightmare through the sense of failure that it was her own fault that caused it all. It quickly became clear with the voices that she began to recognize. Gerwald. Brother, Mentor. Hastaal. Lover. They were beaten senseless the sounds of horrific screams when jaws were shattered and teeth cast in a spattering of blood. The lupine in his canine form fierce and savage only to be held down and skinned alive and fully conscious, feeling the knife rend flesh while they drenched Hastaal in a thick, black, shiny liquid and boiled him in oil. The forms of torture shifted in other horrific acts of violence. When she woke the migraines got worse and lasted longer. But that was when the next round of torture started.
"What will you do when they take everything away?"
Footsteps just outside of the door. Knocking on her quarters only for her ears. It escalated until she could hear the demonic howling and the sounds of rending flesh amidst a symphony of screams while she was awake, torturing the only semblance of peace during her days. It might've brought a lingering sense of helplessness to see her family destroyed, everything she knew turned into ash on a fall wind. The only words ever spoken were in her own voice spoken to her each and every dream, as clear as if they were spoken in the conscious world challenging her with a question she never had a voice to answer. Clarity was never something that Redd was afforded in such a time, it was an elusive thing ever out of grasp. Once again the images came and this time it changed. This time it was different. This time was different when she transformed. This time she saw her darkened fur, the rippling muscle beneath the hulking wolfs form, the surge of rage beneath her flesh so great she visible shook. This time it was different. After all the times in which she crashed helplessly against a cage wall, the different looking Redd tore through it and this time it gave way beneath her might and shredded the attackers into pieces. A sanguine bath amidst the thrown pieces of torn cadavers, souls cast into oblivion at the might of the feral beast.
"Only alone can you stand before it. Only alone can you withstand them when they come."
Images flashed through her mind. Images that poured from iconic locations through the districts, from wherever she was staying to paint a location outward, that showed her where a wraith stood surrounded by sun bleached red stone.

The nightmares had plagued her. Night after night she seemed to writhe in the bed that she shared with her mate, Haastal. It wasn’t like that of the nightmare that she had had before she had bitten her mate. No, but it had seemed as if it was a catalyst, one that had started the butterfly effect so then the dominos would continue to fall out of her control. It was as if her mind was against her with every waking moment; for she heard her own voice repeating the same words within her mind during the day, even though she was wide awake. What will you do when they take everything away?

Such words made it seem impossible to quell the encroaching fear that threatened to strangle her with every breath taken. It made her skin crawl as if she wanted nothing more than to shift and fight the elusive nightmares with teeth and claws. Something which was impossible to do and made her feel helpless, much like when she had been on Mustafar. It was a feeling that played upon every nerve ending that she had. How could she fight a nightmare that threatened to kill those that she loved and cared for? Her mate, her brother. She witnessed their deaths on a continuous basis and so she had found herself going through the movement of physical hand to hand combat with a dummy, in order to control the snarling anger that was building up within and directed at herself.

Yet still, the nightmares continued, as if her own mind was working against her and it was getting so bad, that she had finally woken up again with a scream. A scream that seemed to still be reverberating around in her skull as she stood upon familiar ground. She had seen it in her dream, after she had heard words that she didn’t think was true. They were puzzling and although she felt jumpier than normal, the lupine had decided to travel to Geonosis without Haastal. Redd didn’t want her mate to think that she was losing it. Hell, she didn’t want to admit that she was losing it herself and if she truly was beginning to succumb to mental illness, then she didn’t want anyone that she loved to be near when she did. For she knew of the history of what happened when some wolves had lost their grip upon reality, about how they would attack those closest to them because they no longer recognized them.

Redd had already bitten Haastal by accident, she didn’t want it to happen again.

So why was she on Geonosis? Well, the lupine had hoped that she would find answers to the nightmares that had been plaguing her, for it was slowly driving her mental. Sometimes she thought that she would hear footsteps when there was no trace of a scent. The lupine would even hear doors closing or the occasional whisper of words upon the wind. Once, she had thought that she had even seen someone standing in the doorway, only for her to look and find nothing. Which then led her to believe that perhaps the key to all of this, was somehow upon a planet that she had once spent all of her recovery time on, till the capital had been moved. Perhaps, there was something on Geonosis that would explain it all and her booted feet carried her right to the spot that she had seen in her dreams.

The area that had been seen after the wolf had broken from the cage, a cage which she thought that she had already escaped. Was she still living in a dream? A dream that she had conjured up in order to escape the reality of still being in the cage and forced to fight? Such a thought only made her shiver, but yet if that was true then why did the sun that was slowly beginning to dip, feel so real upon her pale skin? Had she already lost track of what was real and what wasn’t? Was her grip upon reality already beyond her grasp? No, she had to fight, she had to find a way to stay and yet even as she looked upon the spot, there didn’t seem to be anything that would give her what she was seeking.

A low growl rumbled from the redheaded woman as she turned as if to head back. She had to know if anything that was happening right now was real. She had to reach out to her brother, Gerwald. For she had to find out if she was truly going mad from her lupine genetics.

All roads inevitably lead her back to him.

Outside the climate controlled bubbles of Geonosis waiting in a desolate ravine stood the Dark Lord of the Sith. Robes of form fitted spidersilk in black and red covered his person from head to toe, there were no visible weapons on his person. The giant stood with absolute confidence even on a world beneath the sea of purple. The world bent and contorted around him as the oppressive tyrant exerted his will on the very environment, bearing down on every rock and particle of soil. The entire ravine hummed with his presence, the power of the dark side flowed like a storm from him passively. The sun beat down mercilessly over his statuesque form and yet he stood unmoved, not even beads of sweat formed on the skin hidden beneath the robes folds. A commanding baritone boomed once the woman neared the ravines edge and crossed the boundary by but a single step.
"I've been waiting for you."
The solar winds howled through the ravine as the wolf would delve deeper. All the while the booming voice of the dark figure rang out.
"I have been every voice inside your head."
"I can feel your fear, your anger. What will you do when they come?"
"I see you, the real you, Redd."
What she found was the Lord of Lies himself casting his shadow over the new arrival to the location.

Redd smelled a scent that she recognised, but it also confused her and the red headed woman turned upon her heels as a snarl was released from the feral wolf. Golden eyes moved to follow the direction that the scent originally came from and her chin lifted as his shadow provided her eyes a shield to protect them from the harsh rays of the sun above. Her nostrils flared at the male’s scent and confusion settled over the wolf in a way that she did not understand. Why? Well, she recognised him from Dantooine, but he was in effect from The Sith Empire. Why would he be here when Geonosis was firmly planted within the Confederacy’s influence cloud?

Such a question was answered by the man himself soon after and the woman lifted her arms, only to cross them over her chest. Although, the wolf wasn’t sure as to why she cross her arms. Perhaps because she felt the need to be on guard around this man. Perhaps because she had been surprised by his presence? Or maybe there was something more to it? Perhaps it was because of the dark power that seemed to radiate out from him. The Lupo had met him before and at that time, Gerwald seemed to be of the mind to attack him; even though her brother had first told her that they were there to help TSE. Such an event had caused her confusion back then as well, so it made no sense for the man to be here on Geonosis. If her brother didn’t like Prazutis, then theoretically, she shouldn’t like him either.

It was his words though, that pinned her to the ground where she stood and sometimes, the howl of the solar winds threatened to drown the man out, but she was a wolf after all; so his words almost sounded as if he was whispering them into her ear. He has been waiting for her? He had been the voice inside her head? Even as he continued to speak, the words that really stuck was that he boldly claimed to see the real her. No one saw the real her. No one saw the beast that wanted out to do nothing more than to kill; to satiate the bloodlust that plagued her at every turn. The beast within wanted blood and such a thing had been instilled within her when her mind had been shattered at the loss of a pack; only to be reborn in an arena filled with nothing but blood and death.

The pressure of such a bloodlust seemed to pound at her head and she angled her head down and to the right, just as the solar winds picked up once again to tug at her red locks. ”No one sees the real me.” Redd finally said as she closed her golden eyes and unfolded her arms so then her right hand could rise and massage her temple. No, she doubted that even her mate understood the beast that lingered within and Gerwald always seemed to want to smother that beast by enforcing humanity upon her. In fact, her transition from wolf to human had been a long road and even now she despised being human. Except now, she had a mate that grounded her in a sense, within her human form, but that still didn’t mean that she didn’t long to run on all fours and kill her opponents.

After a moment of silence, the woman slid a foot back and her body began to turn away from the massive hulking frame that seemed to dominate the land around her. ”No one can see, so stop with the voices in my head.” She growled almost as if to dismiss the man and walk away. After all, the red wolf didn’t have any issue with The Mountain; Gerwald was the one with the issue and she still didn’t understand that, because he never bothered to explain. ”Leave me be,” The woman finally said in a low growl of warning and turned away from him.
