Really depends on what you are trying to do. Are you the type of pirate that likes to hijack by your lonesome or you grabbing a crew? Are you going after large or small targets. Heavily defended or not.

You want a well rounded ship that doesn't sacrifice on speed. Yeah you want to take a hit or two, but your a pirate, not a naval war hero..... so you shouldn't be slugging it out with the big boys. Hit and run and if they hit harder, you run faster.

[member="Eliza Raxis"] As a Corellian smuggler at heart, I'd have to go with any sort of freighter. I can't give you any specific suggestions, but if you've got a smaller group then definitely go with a (light/medium/heavy) freighter. If you plan on having larger operations then probably frigates or something. Obviously I can't tell you what kind of ship is best, that's up to you and whatever you think is best.

Biggest you can run without a faction is 400m, but if it is solely you I wouldn't go over 80m. Anything more is too much and just plain hard to solo fly. The Millennium Falcon was 114m and required a two person crew.

Really what you want is something that looks like any other transport ship. Decently fast, and not to well armed. If a ship is overarmed you'll get some interested looks. Also being able to board other vessels is important. I recommend this since it's well armed, have room for cargo or prisoners, has alright speed, has decent maneuverability, looks like any other cargo ship, and is modular. Plus a ship that looks like a freighter can do fake distress calls and lure in other ships.
