Contract What's mine is yours | Diarchy/Corporate Interests Guild (N & Z Umbrella Corporation)

Location: Taspir III
Tag: Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath
Open to any Diarchy/CIG player wanting to negotiate the use of Taspir's mines

Coming off the heels of a successful business agreement for the commissioning of the Heavy Battle Cruiser Dominus, Darth Reign had reached out to the N & Z Umbrella Corporation to gauge interest in further dealings. The Dark Lord knew woefully little of mining operations, yet, had come into control of a mineral rich planet. Knowing that there was untapped wealth here, he had decided to reach out to a business he was familiar with.

He had sent a personal envoy to engage with the staff of the director of N & Z, one Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath and had given the envoy the coordinates to the Obsidian Redoubt, the Diarchy's fortress on the planet, with word that Reign would make himself available at the Director's earliest convenience.

While Reign awaited word, he continued drafting his plans for the negotiations that would take place on Bastion within the following weeks. As well as finalizing blueprints for his own Sith Academy, however, many of these negotiations hinged upon these mines. Reign needed the finances to be able to sway planetary governments and to be able to have some bargaining power.

A relatively large, yet surprisingly sleek and ultramodern looking military vessel bearing the insignia of not just the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, but bearing also the personal emblem of the Head of House Nargath; the Marquis of Valkan, arrived in orbit of Taspir III, with a smaller troop transport ship leaving the ship's hangar and descending into orbit, bearing the same insignias and emblems to differentiate itself from any of the usual ships the N&Z Employed.

As the Troop ship landed near the Obsidian Redoubt, the main fortress of the faction the N&Z had agreed to meet with, the vessel's bay door lowered, with a whole detachment of men clad in heavy white armor stomping down the door in perfect unison, followed by a single man bearing several golden insignias on his armor and clearly in a commanding position; a Centurion among the Valkan Guards, who quickly motioned the detachment to spread out into two lines with their weapon presented as a man dressed in the most magnificent purple, black and gold descended from the bowels of the ship.

"So...This is the Obsidian Redoubt...it isn't bad, a bit gloomy, but not bad at all," The Marquis of Valkan marveled at the sight of the building in front of him, He had already sent word that he would be arriving, but wondered if perhaps he may have been a bit too hasty to reply. On the other hand though, he had no reason to dawdle. If this was a Sith he was dealing with, the endresult of the negotiations might actually prove to be more favourable than initially thought. If there was one thing the Sith wanted above all it was power and if the N&Z could further provide the Diarchy with the means to display power...it could only end up being a beneficial partnership. There was one other thing this Sith could mean for the Chairman of the N&Z though...a means to figure out what had happened to his grand uncle, who disappeared before the second great hyperspace war.

"Centurion Livicus, have you sent word of my arrival?" The Marquis tilted his head a bit as he looked at the commander of the detachment of guards he had brought with him.

"Yes, my liege...though no response has been given as of yet," The Centurion responded with a respectful nod of his head.

A quick chime on his comm gained the Diarch’s attention “what is it?” he said into the communicator.

“My lord, a shuttle has just landed, bearing the insignia of the N&Z Corporation, as well as what appears to be a personal emblem.”

“Good. I’m on my way” Reign said as he stood, motioning to his praetorian guards, their black armor a stark contrast against the red of their cloaks and battle skirts. The two fell in line behind their leader as he led the way to the landing platform.

Making his way through the bowels of his fortress, Reign gave himself a quick refresher of who he was meeting. The Chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation was a man of immense wealth and influence, as he was also the Marquis of Valkan. Reign made note to not make an enemy of the man.

As he exited the doors to the landing pad, he took note of the impressive display the Marquis and his men made. Reign’s own black robes flowing, the gold accents and ancient Sith symbols shimmering slightly in the light of the lava flow nearby.

Bowing low, he said
“Chairman Nargath, welcome to The Obsidian Redoubt. I am Lord Reign, it is a pleasure to meet in the flesh. Please come with me, we have much to discuss”

It apparently didn't take long for the ones who had contacted the Chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation to come out and greet the Marquis of Valkan, what's more, this was done in person and not by some lowly assistant or deputy. This did somewhat surprise the eriaduan noble, who had seen the arrogance of some planetary leaders throughout his still relatively short career, but had noted that usually they sent out but their stooges to confront or greet the Marquis upon his arrival, despite the fact that in his position as defactor owner and Chairman of one of the more powerful corporations in the galaxy, Tertius was essentially capable of bringing down entire systems with the power he wielded, something he had never used, but considering the history of the N&Z... it was a surprise how few people took note of this.

Noticing the dichotomy between his own and the Diarch's personal contingent, the Marquis couldn't help but smile a bit, the pristine white and gold on his side, countered perfectly by the black and gold on the Diarch's side. "Diarch Reign, or do you prefer Darth or Lord? The pleasure is all mine, I must admit...I am surprised to see you greeting me in person, it shows you are probably better informed than some of your peers."

Nodding with a smile on his face, the Marquis followed the Diarch, calmly motioning his men to keep pace but remain at a suitable distance. Sith or not, this man had invited him on terms of business and Tertius believed in the strength of character the Sith possessed, ruthless, cruel and maybe a bit mad...it were things he had seen just as many times among corporate leaders as well, which affirmed all the more that he had more in common with the Sith than those Jedi who managed to even annoy the Marquis without being in his presence, their ethos alone was already a pain in his behind.

The Diarch was please with the cordial nature of the chairman. Responding to the other man Reign said “Diarch, Darth, or Lord.. any are fine, just Reign works as well if you prefer, Chairman Nargath. And I’m pleased to be able to surprise you, but there in the Diarchy, we respect our friends and honored guests.”

Darth Reign led the way through the bowels of his fortress, passing military patrols and officers studying tactics.
Opening up an impromptu tour Reign said to the man beside him
“We here at the Diarchy are a small movement as of now, but we have ambition. As you can see, we are a disciplined force, but have needs mine and my brothers personal finances can no longer support. We are growing, rapidly, thanks in part to your support”

The passed through the military wing and on to the command spire, where Reigns command quarters were, as well as his meeting rooms.

He would wait to speak again so that he may answer any of the chairman’s questions.

"Hmm, I guess it's a boon that neither of us are too caught up in our titles," The Marquis of Valkan calmly regarded, nodding to the Diarch as a show of understanding in this case. "You have indeed managed to surprise me, though I reckon it is moreso the nature of yourself rather than that of your organization or faction. The sith...if I might be so bold, tend to be among the few who wish to see anything firsthand, have the advantage of being able to discern what and who they are dealing with up close and in person."

Perhaps it betrayed a certain choice for the Chairman, but it was quite clear that he did not mind his client being a Sith at all, in fact, perhaps due to the Noble House's background it might have been more clear as to why this was the case. After all, the Nargath noble house had brought forth a multitude of Sith; some greater and more powerful than others, some devious, some brilliant, some...monstrous.

"For me it matters little as to whether you are a small or large faction," The Chairman of the N&Z smiled gently, tilting his head a bit to the left. "But indeed, if I were to be able to support you through providing you with the means to grow and prosper, in turn it would also benefit myself."

Remaining quiet for a moment, as they passed through a multitude of corridors and seemingly also the military wing, the Marquis suddenly stopped and turned his attention towards the space behind them. "Those were the military quarters, where they not? While I know we have an appointment for the rights of your local mines, might I have a look at the equipment your soldiers are utilizing?"

Reign stopped as the chairman had, he had not expected there to be multiple avenues to this meeting. Turning slowly to look back at the military wing he said “Indeed they are, the wing we just walked through serve as both barracks, training center, and tac command for our military operations. You are more than welcome to look. The mines will still be there”

He smiled at the chairman as he turned around. Stopping first at a tac command center as the officers viewed holomaps “as you can see, our equipment is far from state of the art, while we do have access to considerable resources, top of the line equipment has been somewhat outside of our capabilities at this time.”

Moving onward, he stopped at a shooting range, black armored storm troopers utilizing E11 Blaster Rifles. “As you may have figured from our prior dealings in regards to our fleet, we are in need of rapid modernization.”

“Much of our equipment has been gained through alliances such as with the Lilaste Order for some of our tanks, and purchases of outdated ships from the Empire of the Lost. Modernization and a supplier for the Diarchy’s forces has been a priority for us, but, without the proper trade and resources has been out of reach” he said solemnly. Watching the Chairman apprais their forces, arms, and ammunition.

Tilting his head a bit to the side, the Marquis listened to what the Dirach had to say with quite some interest. Surely if they had the funds or the ability to grow their funds, they could very well increase the quality of their armors, their equipment and their general state of self. It was becoming quite obvious that while the Diarch was at the very least capable of procuring some materials and products, his wealth was limited and not suited to carry the organization that was being built around the vision he carried.

"I see... am I to glean from this little tidbit of information that you might be more inclined to turn this mining contract of yours into a substitute for other contracts?" Tertius calmly motioned towards the military wing they had passed, clearlygiving away the intention of his words. If the Diarch wished for it, contracts for goods rather than plain, cold hard credits could be arranged as long as the original mining contract remained...profitable enough to warrant further cooperation. "You should reach out to Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss if you wish to update some of your wares and equipment. On behalf of the N&Z he might be the right person to pull some strings within the Empire of the Lost for a lend lease program... the Empire is in need of allies and you are in need of the means to stabilize your organization...it would be a win win, if you ask me."

Straightening his back, the Marquis smiled ever so faintly, nodding a bit as he wondered how much further they had to go before they would finally get to the crux of it all. The N&Z would absolutely love a contract in regards to mining minerals, but he had yet been told what there would be to mine, let alone if this was going to be a lease or a perpetual contract. So many factor were still an unknown to Tertius in regards to the Diarchy, but there was some serious potential and to beat the Trade Federation, he needed to gamble on that potential.
