Popo
I'm Sexy and I Know It
Name: Wheel Security
Intent: To create the elite unit in charge of guarding The Wheel under Popo's command.
Affiliation: Popo, The Wheel
Availability: Unique
Type: Infantry/Marines
Strength: ~500-600 + command, supply, communication, training, and support staff
Description:
Wheel Security is the standing force tasked with defending and protecting The Wheel. When Popo took control of the installation he massively reorganized the force.
Once the ink was dried on the ownership papers, Popo raised the bar on Security troop standards sky-high. Most of the current security forces washed out immediately, leaving very, very few. Of those, he founded the core of the new Wheel Security. Barely numbering two dozen, these men and women formed the training core of the force and got to work immediately. Popo hand picked his security troops with the help of his new trainer corps. The Hutt picked only those who had numerous years of service in combat fields. Soldiers, bounty hunters, mercenaries, and the like applied and only the very top and elite applicants were selected. These applicants were then sent through hellish training and indoctrination programs. Chief among these was the main and primary requirement: They had to buy Wheel stock.
The reasoning for this was simple and profound. Few beings fought for no reason and the hardest fighting soldiers and mercenaries were those that defended something they held dear. Such things like homes, families, friends, and properties were easily fought the hardest for. Tenloss couldn't grant families and friends as payment and homes were more or less a barracks or a room of their own, those options were more or less out of the equation. What Tenloss could do, however, was offer property. By requiring Wheel Security members to purchase stock in The Wheel, they became invested in the space station. They earned profit from the stock and, when they left or retired from the force, could make a large sum in the process. With their partial ownership of the Wheel and their credits at stake, Wheel Security personnel became personally invested in the well being and security of the station, driving them to take their professions and their tasks with heightened awareness and purpose.
The troops were then outfitted with the best Tenloss had to offer in weapons, armor, and gear to complete their tasks. Each is a highly trained and highly motivated individual and each is already a veteran before becoming Wheel Security. The unit as a whole is known for its professionalism and strict authority upon the space station, taking all measures to maintain the station's security and safety. While this sometimes pushes their actions into brutal and potentially illegal areas, Popo maintains that such actions are essential to the well-being of the station as a whole.
Should any wish to cause trouble or, even worse, attempt to take the Wheel from Popo's grasp, they'll find themselves up against some of the most elite and hardbitten troops in the galaxy who have no qualms with shooting first and asking questions far later.
