It does not happen every day with the Eternal Empire that someone voluntarily indicates that they would join her because of the Eternal Empire’s principles and views. Lanteeb did this. They invited the Empire and their allies to know the Lanteeb and their people, under their festivals and holidays. That was the first time in a long time when Lanteeb opened relationships with others. Their people basically were xenophobic, but the empire is inhabited mainly by humans, and the Lanteebians heard what the Empire did at Bursoll, how they stopped the Melding Plague and saved the Unknown Regions, and maybe the entire galaxy. And they liked it.

The Lanteebian National Day was approaching. Once a year, this is when they celebrated the new year, which brought them renewal, new opportunities and new life. This year, they want to share this with the Eternal Empire and their allies. This time they want to celebrate their joining too. They invited everyone who wants to celebrate with them. As for the Lanteebian festivities, they held all of this in several ways.

The festivals coincide with the flowering of the beautiful local trees, so you can take part in outdoor events in the rain of petals, or just huge noble balls. On the streets many dress in costumes, hold fairs, dance, sing, have fun. They hold free plays/dramas, musical entertainments, parades, local food and drink specialties can be sampled. They celebrate for a whole week.

For those who are not interested in festivals, they are also hunting for a number of points on the planet. On the hunt everyone can prove their skills, talents and resilience. Who go hunting can also fight each other or chase local animals, possibly creatures brought from the outside world in the terrain of their choice. The locals hope everyone will find here what they are looking for during the holiday, and they will be welcomed in the Eternal Empire.

Like the nobility of the empire, Ingrid was also invited to this ball, this time she arrived alone, without her husband, who was sitting on the other side of the galaxy. This ball, this festival was not a rest, holiday or something like that, but work. The Lanteeb wants to join the Eternal Empire, so they have to prove they are worthy of it all. She hopes the rebels will not show up on Lanteeb, and they do not cross out the Eternal Empire’s calculations. The Lanteeb has many ores, what the Empire could utilize. It would have been nice if they really joined.

That is why she herself represented the imperial court tonight; she hoped the Emperor or the Empress would come today too. So far no one has told her anything about it. She took a drink from one of the waiters. She looked around to see if she had seen any acquaintances, but no one here yet. After the last few months she really needed a little relaxation, she just regretted not being able to do all this with Tubrok. She toyed with the thought of whether this evening would be like the wedding, with the OPA spy? For sure, she would look forward to a very funny evening if yes.

But until now everything seems to be normal, and a bit boring. She listened to the music; she noticed cheese balls on one of the waiter's trays, and smiled. She thought of Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter thanks to this. She loved these snacks. Maybe she will come here too today. If she remembers well, her friend loved parties. For now, she stared alone and strolled, but she hoped to find some company for herself soon…

First time in the Eternal Empire - or what was soon to be the Eternal Empire, depending on who you asked - and first time representing the Sith Empire abroad. It was vaguely interesting, he supposed, though he had to admit that he wouldn't have chosen such a backwater for a ball.

Having succeeded in attracting more than a few looks due to his rather unique mask - a shroud of living shadow woven around his facial features through some rather creative applications of Sith Sorcery - he smiled smugly, though the expression went obscured like so much else. It always amused him to show the provincial elite how little they truly knew about the world and its mysteries.

Eyes flickering to a redhead in a much less concealing mask, his smile only broadened. Ah, someone worthy of his attention - an intelligencer, given her interactions with the Sith, but a subtle one... a good one, then.

"Ah, my lady, I dare say we've never been introduced..." For a moment, the living shadows peeled back, revealing a flash of pearly-white teeth and a pair of cold blue eyes. "... Adrian Vandiir, Dark Councilor of Scientific Advancement."

She didn’t wait too much until someone did not find her and did not go to her. The man was familiar to her, but she met so many people recently, she wasn't sure where she saw him. She assisted the Sith Empire in the hostage case, and then she went to war alongside them. And of course she went to Scintilla and helped them in the war too against the Confederacy. Beside these, she also did her job in the Eternal Empire too. Too much work and too little less rest. Fortunately the man introduces himself. Ingrid returned the smile, and kept eye contact with Adrian.

”You're right my Lord, we really weren't. It's an honor you come my Lord.” she replied with a smile. ”Baroness Ingrid L’lerim of Vengard, the Emperor’s hand, and the Director of Blackwatch.”

As a matter of fact, Adrian’s mask choosing was far from ordinary, at least she thought so. Maybe not special among the siths, but here it was, not as if it bothered her. She had already learned that in the Sith Empire the Siths were very different from what she had learned from her master. But she thought it was all perfectly fine, may she be wrong, but she didn’t care this time. She had a feeling perhaps she was already drinking too much and the evening had just started. She had fun for the last time too long.

”Did you found already something you like tonight here?” she asked.”Is there news from the Sith Empire?”

A shadow cast itself over the landscape below, its ominous darkness prophetically embracing the sunlit estate below, as if to symbolize Lanteeb's union with the Empire. The massive, five kilometers long hull of the Invictus, the Emperor's old, infamous flagship, hung in orbit above the planet, so large that it was visible from the ground below, even in broad daylight, its dagger-like shape signalling the beginning of a new age for Lanteeb, an age of order and militarism, for a safe, secure society.

A single dropship emerged from the belly of the massive battlecruiser and descended from the skies, surrounded by the four menacing black triangles that were its escorts, gliding gently down towards the ground and coming to a halt with a metallic thump, the starfighters accompanying it breaking off and beginning their climb back into space.

There were no distinguishing markings on the dropship's gray hull, other than the standard military identifiers that were present on every other dropship like it, along with the triskellion crest of the Eternal Empire. Its interior was similarly devoid of any unique distinguishing markings, or trappings of comfort or luxury, only the utilitarian furnishings of a military dropship, because this was just a regular military dropship. To outsiders, it may have seemed odd that such a lowly vessel would be used to transport the totalitarian ruler of the Eternal Empire, a man who held absolute authority over his countless subjects and had vast resources at his disposal that few could even fathom, but the Eternal Emperor didn't put much stock in unnecessary luxuries and indulgent comforts, choosing instead to embrace utilitarianism, discipline and duty, the three core Imperial values, as represented by the three arrows which made up the triskellion emblem of his nation.

The bodyguards which emerged from the dropship, forming two lines of five on each side of the small vessel's door, were similarly dressed in utilitarian-looking armor, built for purpose, not for ceremony and pomp and were it not for the cloaks they wore, things of leather and fur, with wolf's-head hoods, they would not have stood out from any of the Empire's regular soldiers. But these were no regular soldiers, they were Wolfguards. Infamous throughout the galaxy for their prowess in combat, they were the most disciplined, loyal and fanatical amongst an entire nation which prided itself as having the most disciplined military force in the history of the galaxy.

The Emperor himself, was dressed in a white military uniform, Chains of Office draped over his shoulder and pinned over his heart by a a metallic badge. He wore no crown, for in the Eternal Empire, the Emperor was as much bound by his duty to the State, as every one of his subjects, but he carried a sword, hanging from his belt, as was customary for Imperial officials. He was a hard man, a veteran of a thousand battles waged all over the galaxy, a soldier at heart, even with all the power he wielded.

Pausing only to ask his wife to exchange the customary niceties with the local governor while he greeted the guests from the Sith Empire, he stepped forward, accompanied by five of his Wolfguards while the other five remained behind with the Empress.

"<Hail Tacitus! Eternal Emperor of Kalidan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Autarch of the Unknown Regions!>" an announcer barked, as all the soldiers and officers present snapped to attention and saluted in Imperial fashion, fist-over-heart.

"<Greetings to you, loyal citizens of the Empire, officials of Lanteeb. To our guests, who have traveled so far to join us here today, I bid you welcome,>" the Emperor spoke in a voice that was like gravel. Cat-like eyes glowing with Darkside gold, scanned the expressions of those assembled, a hand resting casually on the hilt of his longsword, each finger ending in a sharp and deadly talon.

Muscle, and back up, these were all the Azazel was meant for at this moment. The frontliner had no experience being anything else, but a soldier, but this request to be present had caused him to sweat some. He wanted to bring glory to his empire, but wasn't sure this could provide him with an opportunity to do such a thing. Regardless, this was his duty, and doing his best was all he could do for the moment. He stood attentive, alert to anything that seemed out of place of a...ball. A proper royal party of sorts he assumed was what his was. People would walk by him, attempt to talk to him, and he would stay silent, and let his presence speak for him. They would twitch and shuffle some before leaving awkwardly.

He had been standing outside of the building, waiting to be called in for a new position to take, but he doubted that would happen. No, he had to make his own decisions here because while he was on duty, he was expected to think for himself on how to best serve his empire at this party. Azazel sighed inside his mind, bored of this political movement, and peaceful way.

But our Emperor knows what he is doing, he preserves us, protects us.

The people of Lanteeb were wise, as far as Taozi was concerned.

Such a beautiful planet did not deserve to be destroyed at the hands of cruel, ruthless, broken conquerors. People, with such lively traditions did not deserve to live in fear, and giving in to the Empire saved them from such gripping fear.

Hidden among the many petals of a fairly large blossoming tree, Taozi sipped the floral tea she had procured from one of the vendors as she watched people socialize below. A gentle smile graced her face, one of the first, genuine, smiles she had shown in a long, long time. It was quite amusing to the doctor that no one could seem to find her among the pink blossoms, but when one is pink from head to toe...

Well, it would be quite a fun game to see how long it'd take for her to be found. It had been almost half an hour already...

That was it, a name to the face and details to the name - promptly memorised, as always.

Shadows swirling in intricate patterns, he chuckled softly at her questions, unable to help himself. "Oh, I would say so."

Neatly transitioning to the second, more weighty, question, he nodded towards the guards subtly positioned around the ballroom. "Oh, what passes as the usual, these days. Rebellious gnats being a bother - I'm sure you can relate. Nothing the Saaraishash cannot handle, of course."

Producing a softly glowing gem from somewhere within his jacket, the shadows retracted long enough for him to wink. "Personally, I find my experiments much more interesting. There's so much we don't know about the galaxy... and ourselves." As quickly as it had appeared, he pocketed it, but not before the presence of something else, something dark, had made itself known, as if from within the crystal itself.

Turning in acknowledgement of the Eternal Emperor's entrance, he bowed shallowly but respectfully, polite guest that he was. It certainly did not hurt that the man had very visibly altered himself through the Dark Side - that sort of thing was always a fast route to earning Adrian's respect.

______________________________________________

Lanteeb was, by all accounts, a beautiful planet with a rich culture and history. The Floral Festival that they put on each year to celebrate their new year was something to behold, and was often featured all across the holonet as one of the "One Hundred Wonders" found across the galaxy. Vance and his family were often invited to attend due to their Naval Yards' affiliation with the Lanteebian people. It wasn't until the Eternal Empire had fixed their sights upon the planet that Vance's father, Athen, had requested him to attend on the family's behalf. For some reason, the Caydence clan seemed to find themselves at the crux of galactic politics, usually siding against anyone who flew Imperial banners. They, of course, feigned neutrality quite well; but in the end, matters tended to draw them into direct conflict with those who decided that an "iron fist" was the manner by which to rule. For the longest time, Vance had been involved with one group or another that incited rebellion against these "empires" in favor of democracy and freedom from militant rule. His own stand against the Eternal Empire would prove nothing different.

This festival was a wondrous reprieve from being shoulder-deep in a greasy engine bay, trying to get yet another fighter working just long enough to do some damage in the field. As the pink and red petals from the Lanteebian flora fluttered and flew around him, he could almost forget that there was a battle raging across this sector of the galaxy and just enjoy the scenery. He had already been sampling some of the local cuisine, and was currently walking around with a jug filled with plum wine. Not much caring that he was imbibing quite generously, he soon found himself sitting on a bench near one of the flowering trees, gazing up into its branches. Imagine his surprise when he happened to see a young
woman sitting above him in its boughs, sipping some sort of drink and smiling all the while. He squinted, blinking more than a few times, attempting to be certain that he was seeing what he was seeing. When the woman did not disappear, he looked down at the jug of wine that he was holding with a confused expression.

"Last time that I get the wine from around here..."

”Lucky you!” she teased.

She smiled at the man's response without the slightest appearance of confusion. After this she nodded Adrian’s answer. The rebels... these rebel scums were apparently everywhere, they started to get very boring, and they always had to be chased. They had such troubles themselves, so she understood perfectly what the man was thinking. However, it was always easy to deal with them; they were only annoying just like the mosquitoes.

”I’m sure of that!” she replied.

Experiments? It sounds interesting, but she prefers the battle grounds. Ingrid may have been a sorcerer, but she was also a soldier. But that did not mean that she would not have heard anything with pleasure on this subject. That is why he intended to mention this, hoping the man had heard of it:

”After the Bursoll II incident, I began to take an interest in Sith alchemy” she said.”Maybe you could give me some tips on where to start all this”

They found there something ancient artefact, which caused the Melding Plague. She didn’t like not knowing everything about something, so that’s why she turned to alchemy now. Maybe she will find answers there. They can handle the plague, but they never know when it will happen again somewhere else. And that was the moment when her Emperor and master arrived. She nodded respectfully and curtsy to the man.

Watching over the proceedings with keen eyes that rarely missed anything, the Eternal Emperor easily spotted the Sith Imperial representative, someone he hadn't met before, but whom he recognized from his dossiers, despite of his mask. The Eternal Empire held detailed records about foreign officials, including things such as voice samples and files about their known common known mannerisms, Imperial bureaucracy keeping tabs on such things from public appearances and holonet materials.

He surmised that the Dark Councilor of Scientific Advancement was likely a curious and inquisitive individual, given his job title, one who likely knew quite a bit about sorcery and Sith alchemy, being as he was, at the forefront of the neverending research into the mysteries of the Darkside of the Force. And while many Sith cast aside mystical research in favor of focusing on more direct, physical skills such as Force Lightning and lightsaber techniques, the Eternal Emperor understood the true potential of the Darkside's more esoteric arts, himself a skilled alchemist and an accomplished sorcerer, though his true area of expertise lay in necromancy, his level of knowledge about this somewhat rare art being well known throughout the galaxy, though very, very few were aware of the true extent of his accomplishments in the field, having managed to piece together and pull off rituals only described in the legendary feats of the most ancient and powerful of Sith Lords, often combining them with alchemy to produce remarkable and incredibly useful results.

Coincidentally, he was currently working on such a project, to produce Force-sensitive creatures that could act as scouts, communicating telepathically to bypass electronic jamming techniques and that could serve as disposable assassins or shock forces on the battlefield. He was waiting for the arrival of one of the leading scientists of the Vran'ti, Krae Krae , to discuss that very project, as he had yet to pick a suitable species to serve as a basis and the Vran'ti were the Empire's leading experts on xenobiology.

Wearing:
Black and silver robes. The mask of a dragons face.
shruuk (across back)

As usual, it was not hard to miss the Vran'Ti Vo Ni. His attire was robes of black with silver trims. Like last time he wore the mask of the face of a Shgurak. It was after-all one of the more memorable things if someone had been to the planet but not journeyed into the wilderness. And it was something well respected by the Vran'Ti people, though, it was still just a beast. Today it was more beasts that he was here to discuss, though of a different kind considerably.

Nexus walked swiftly, he had no interest in most of the crowds. He was here for a particular purpose and he would get it done. He had no joy in being a member of the Eternal Empire. However, he had chosen to maintain his position in turn for having to take the planet under that of the Eternal Empire peacefully. He knew full well that in all out war they stood no chance, and while they might be able to continually sabotage things, that would mean Nexus would lose his power. And he had no interest in that. If his people had to suffer as underlings in order for him to maintain his rule, then so be it.

He would ultimately make his way to Kainan Wolfe Kainan Wolfe . The man who he was meant to discuss with. He would cooperate, there was no real reason not to. If the Empire ever did turn against his planet they might as well know what they were up to. Though, if it came down to that. Nexus did consider that he might just ensure his planet could do a lot of damage, and then proceed to scatter so he didn't risk his life in the process. "Greetings." he said very simply, there was no head bow or reaching for the shake of a hand. He would aid them, but Nexus was a prideful and arrogant man. When he became the Vran'Ti Vo Ni he lots any interest in showing physical submission to another. But more than that it would just be strange for him to do so for his people, not that they were watching. He spoke for the planet itself, in their eyes, so showing in any way that he was an equal or below someone would make him seem inferior to his position.

As intriguing as he found the woman before him - and as fond as he was of flirting with force sensitive women - it was the mention of the Bursoll II incident that truly captured his interest. "Ah, yes, quite the little situation, that. I would ask if you were able to recover anything worthy of further study... but something tells me it would be kept under lock and key."

Smiling to make sure that he would take no offence if that was the case - goodness knew the Sith had plenty of such secrets - he nodded, seemingly quite content with where the conversation was going. "I would imagine we're both rather busy people, but it would be my pleasure to teach you a thing or two before I'm needed elsewhere."

Directing his attention to Tacitus, he took a moment to let his shrouded eyes glide over the wolfish man's altered features in a very different manner from how he had previously observed his conversation partner. "Your Emperor is clearly no stranger to such arts... but what of the Empire at large?"

Tacitus could not care less that the proud Vran'ti would not bow. The Kalidani never bowed, either, although they did salute in the Imperial fashion, like proper soldiers. But the Vran'ti leader was not a soldier, just a scientist, albeit a really good one. As long as he and his planet kept producing the results the Empire needed them to, he had no reasons to care about petty, inconsequential things such as this minor breach in etiquette. "<Greetings as well, master Krae,>" he replied in High Nelvaanian, the official language of the Empire.

"<Glad you arrived on such short notice,>" the Sith Lord said, as if the Vran'ti would have refused an official summons from the Emperor. "<The reason I invited you here is because I have something I wish to discuss with you. There is a certain project Strategic Command would like to commission the services of the Vran'ti for. We need the very best for this task, as you surely understand.>"

"<You see, the Imperial military requires the creation of semi-autonomous scouting units and droids have been deemed unsuitable for this task, due to their vulnerability to slicing, or ion-based weaponry. Therefore, a biological solution is required. We need some kind of creature, one capable of communicating telepathically, therefore it needs to be Force Sensitive as well. I was thinking your people could perhaps identify a suitable candidate species for genetic modification,>"
the Emperor explained, betting on the Vran'ti pride to stoke Krae's enthusiasm for such a project.

"<It needs to be suitably small, no larger than a Kath Hound if possible, omnivorous, so it could live off the land, have a decently high level of intelligence and rate of breeding and must also be completely obedient to its imprinted master. We plan to deploy these creatures as scouting units in a variety of environments, so they should be able to handle a wide variety of climate conditions as well.>"

Well, it was a very pleasant surprise for Ingrid that Adrian did not continue to flirt, but became more interested in the Bursoll II incident. She remembered when she easily seduced the OPA spy at the wedding before. It seems to her, the rumors are true, and sometimes the power of the dark side it makes one less susceptible to the other sex. Power and the desire for knowledge will be greater than other desires, that what she heard before. Of course, she couldn't be sure at the moment, she was just guessing. Back to the Bursoll incident…

”Well, almost everything has been encrypted, but I'll see what I can do for you” she replied.

This time she didn’t use her flirtatious voice, she spoke quite seriously. Although the Sith Empire was the Eternal Empire’s ally, Ingrid did not know how much her Emperor wanted to share with them, although the man in front of him might have been the best to help them. She didn’t want to act behind the Emperor’s back.

”I’ll send you everything I can, records, data, maybe samples, after I returned to Kalidan” she said.

She didn't expect a return for this; it was more of a friendly gesture, because she hoped the other would find new information. After Adrian’s words she smiled again. He was right again, she was a very busy woman, and she can imagine the man is busy too. That was the fate of the high rank people.

”You honor me, my Lord!” she said coolly but respectfully.

After Adrian mentioned the Emperor, she followed the man’s gaze, and her gaze also rested on the man for a few seconds until she turned back to Adrian. Suddenly she did not know how well known this fact was in the Sith Empire. Ingrid knows that her Emperor is “friend” with Emperor Carnifex. Maybe this is a well-known fact, but the man recognized what the other was, so she could not deny it. So she just nodded to the answer.

”Yes he is. Unfortunately my training is not there yet, but I like to learn in advance” she replied honestly.”With the Empire? You know we are fighting with our own rebels, with undeads, we are thriving. Nothing the Utranauts cannot handle, of course.”

She said the last sentence directly with the same emphasis as Adrian had done before.

Displaying the colors of the empire proudly, Azazel stepped in between the large doors that created the intrance of the estate. Inside was a different beauty of it's own, but not nearly as beauitful as the empire's own estate designs.

We'll have to bring in some painters, and designers to spruce this up once this it all done. No ally of the empire can be considered loyal without displaying something repsenstive of us. It would be heresy otherwise to leave it as is.

Azazel though to himself.

Many people dressed in attires much finer than his own mingled and stood in cliques, each one a possible threat to the Emperor, each one a possible target. In his mind, the Ultranaut was a sword and shield of the empire, his strike blocked by nothing when the order given. Heritage or wealth would not prevent him from putting down any of these rats like the exterminator he could be. Azazel's eyes swept slowly between each noble, watching, and waiting for signs of irregular activity for such an occasion. His captain had briefed him on what to look for, body language and movement that most would not do in a innocent party. While this was all good and useful, there was something the captain had forgotten to tell the guards. The eyes. Windows to the soul, could tell any person a million things about the owner. Far across from where the man stood was the emperor, Azazel felt his heart leap from his chest. Glory and honor was felt just standin this far in the same room as the great man.

As a child, the Ultranaut remembered calling his own father Daddy Bear, a sign of affection for his father, and respect. That was until he realized later on that his parents were weak, and holding back the empire. The only thing his father taught him was the love and loyalty to hold for the Enternal Throne and it's seated body. Tacitus. A man who Azazel saw more of a father figure than any other male in his life. Even his superiors held no match compared to his emperor, and the love he felt for the man was tremendious. Had his emperor told him the enemy was at the bottom of a cliff, Azazel would jump off, firing into the horde of bodies deemed enemies to the empire without thought of his own well being. Father figure, dad, role model. Inside Azazel's twisted conept of reality, this was what Tacitus was, and the emperor had no idea who the Ultranaut even was, but that was fine.

Azazel went back to focusing on the crowds, calming his emotions and applying both his training and instinct.

Each member was below his empire, below his emperor, below him. Each noble of this planet was better off a slave, giving in without a fight. This was weakness, but his emperor had his reasons for peaceful resolutions, and Azazel would follow the example to heart , soul, and mind.

Something, however, did catch his attention, a singular man, shorter than himself, and round like a ball. He was still, too still and his eyes kept glancing at Azazel's emperor while his conversational partner spoke. Was the noble fat man simply nervous of the power he stood in the same room with? Or was this something more sinister? Azazel moved himself into the shadows of the crowd, falling into the unnoticeable movement that was shifting to the foods and drinks laid out for all to partake. The Ultranaut wathed closely, prepared to pounce on this fat man before any harm could be done to his emperor.

The emperor preserves us, protects us.

Smile briefly poking through his shadowy mask, his satisfaction was evident. "Excellent... and I will, of course, share anything I discover with you."

In turn, he would provide some assistance in expanding her understanding of the occult - his more scientific method of utilising it, anyway - though like her he did not see it as an exchange but as a gesture; he was here representing the Sith Empire, after all, and while he doubted the alliance between their empires was much more than mutual pragmatism, goodwill never hurt...

... and besides, he had always had a soft spot for attractive women, doubly so Force Sensitive ones.

Amused by the similarity of her response to his - truly, the curse of disorder was ever a burden upon the organised state - he nodded ever so slightly. "I am sure, though I would imagine your own Blackwatch is better suited to keeping track of skittering rebels... unless they have amassed the capabilities to face you in open battle?"

Like the Sith Empire's own had, in a way, though he seriously doubted the New Imperials could have bolstered their forces so quickly without significant external assistance. Someone with very deep pockets, certainly, and the boldness to so blatantly defy the Sith.

Broka sat in a private booth in the common festival grounds. He knew the Lanteeb would not welcome a being of his status in the gathering of their nobles. Thus, he would be a noble among the people. All much better for business as long as he was concerned. He and a few lesser Hutt Lords were with him. Broka came here to show his status among the lords that might choose him for their leader. A great gathering of Hutts would take place across the galaxy, and Broka was stacking the deck in his favor. These minor Hutt Lords would not be enough to truly guarantee his success, but it allows him to gain some more support before the final decision for a leader of the Hutts would be made.

(In his usual Huttese) "<You see my lords! This is what we Hutts deserve. My plans for our kind can only guarantee such festivities and prosperity for all the clans. We should not worry about politics and the usual business. We are here to relax, and recline. Enjoy the food and drinks the Imperials provide. They will be good allies to us. They will also be good to us if you choose me to lead our people.>"

The other Hutts were impressed. The prestige he had in these parts far flung from their home impressed the other Hutts. These Hutts were slightly older than the young Broka. They were murmuring among themselves in awe of Broka's grand influence among the Imperials. Many ordered drinks and a large platter of the local food was provided. A giant banquet for all the Hutts in the booth. A very ostentatious display of wealth and power was going on in this booth, and Broka was at the center of it. The commoners of Lanteeb looked at the booth with mix of awe and disgust. The Imperials that were witnessing the affair were indifferent to their Hutt associates living large.

Indeed, there was little chance Nexus would have denied the request. His position relied on keeping both his people and the Empire considering him to be good for the position. Though they required almost opposite attitudes, that was something that was quite frustrating. But, more manageable than having to recreate his power on some other planet.

They were looking to enlist Vran'Ti in a project, fortunately not one requiring military warfare of many of their people. While his people were very dedicated, they would be even more irritated to lose lives to an Empire they didn't believe in. And their faith in him would risk wavering. The empire wanted scouts, ones not made of metal and circuits so prone to failure. It needed to be living, that brought a smile to the sith lords face, that was after-all one of their greater feats. And of course, Nexus was perfectly happy to demonstrate that.

He stroked his chin thoughtfully as Tacitus further explained the specifics of the creature he desired. Vran'Ti had it's own...irregular creatures. However, telepathic ones, not so much. At least available to his knowledge. But they had altered species for almost their entire existence on the planet. A new creation would hardly be a surprise. This might require the manipulation of more than one species however, "That is...managable. The telepathic matter is one which would require the most study, our ancestors toyed with the creation of force sensitive organs. But telepathy is far more complex of a result. But we have some options, I'm sure you are aware of something called a Boar-wolf. They live within your worlds I believe, a bit large. Not sure the exact size, or that of a Kath, but it would be no issue to adjust that to something somewhat smaller. Breeding rate can be made not a problem. Nor is social dependency, though that may require additional effort after biological manipulation to create the instinct. And they'd be made good for multiple terrains, though I imagine you would prefer not adding additional organs for making them semi-aquatic. It sometimes compromises overall effectiveness."

He removed his hand from his face instead clasping them together, and glancing past Tacitus as he considered the necessities, "Intelligence is something we've done before, a few times actually. When you say decent intelligence, do you mean basic puzzle solving and social ability. Like most pack canines. Or do you mean semi-sentience. Keep in mind that semi-sentience risks additional advantages and side-effects, our 'Screamers' as they're called for instance can die from being separated. Whereas the Shguraks are notoriously independent until they are forced into submission Now, as for telepathy, I'd like to see if we could obtain something that is telepathic for study. Not someone who learned the skill, a creature who has it by instinct. Things like the Anzat, or Iktotchi. Both would be sufficient subjects, from there we could likely figure out the replication process into the altered Boar Wolf. It'd just be a matter of reducing the telepathic abilities to something more understandable to the creature of lower intelligence."

At least it was easy to make Adrian happy. After all, what else could a woman want? Ingrid threw that insulting thought out of her mind. In any case, she tried to be the most optimistic, even though she knew the saying never to trust a sith. Last but not least, she couldn’t trust almost anyone anyway. So she preferred to focus on her "faith" in relations between the empires. And that no one could have wanted the melding plague to spread throughout the galaxy.

”You oblige me, my Lord! That epidemic is too dangerous for everyone; it would be good if it could be eradicated once and for all.” she said.

She really could only hope that they did not want to use it as a directed weapon, because she doubted that it would be possible. The Force was too unpredictable, just like the melding plague. She began to think hard and get confused about it all. Or just simply she didn’t want to talk, or think to work, not today. Exceptionally, the “Ice Queen” just wanted to feel good, nothing more. Sometimes she thought that was a too big request.

”No, they are hiding like rats!” she rolled her eyes.”But this evening is about fun, not work, let’s be a little less formal, provided you don’t mind it all.” she waited the man’s response, if he didn’t mind, she continues. ”What do you usually do when you're not working?” she diverted the subject to more direct waters.

Ingrid hoped that the other would not be disturbed by the change of topic, but if so, the formal conversation would remain…
