Where Am I?

Rael walked through the Jedi Academy, and rather puzzled look on his face. Well, there would've been if it wasn't covered by a tribal bone mask. The Kaleesh had finally found an outfit that fit his strange figure. Rather plain robes with a brown cloak. He had the hood pulled over his pointed ears as he stumbled around the academy. Rael had absolutely no clue where he was. He looked around at the various hallways and doors. He walked around outside, looking up at the sky. He'd left his room with the intent of of finding some food. That hadn't worked out.

Assuming outside wasn't the place the find a meal, he headed back inside. As he entered through a doorway, he felt something catch on his ankles. Extremely ungracefully, the tall being tripped in a tangly pile of limbs. He slowly pushed himself onto his hands and knees, and looked behind him. Barely perceptible, a thin tripwire was stretched across the doorway. He grunted, and sat up, legs crossed. He looked around, rather clueless.

The Jedi Knight with a name of Maria Natalja just stepped into the corridor when a kaleesh stopped looking around (probably cluelessly). It looked like the young Padawan had had some kind of an accident, probably having fallen down. As the woman had nothing to do, she ran to the one and asked, "Is everything okay?" It might have hurt a bit, she guessed. Trying to understand what had happened, she looked around and barely noticed some kind of a wire across the doorway. Yeah, somebody had fooled around.

She would have to go and talk to some higher ranking people -- academy's headmaster or somebody. These things shouldn't happen in the Jedi Order, the sanctuary of discipline and peace. Making people have such horrible graceless accidents is not only rude, but also showed the lack of discipline one had.

Rael looked up at the Jedi Knight who'd walked over to him. "Ah, do things like this usually happen...?" He stood up, brushing himself. The Kaleesh held out his hand for the Jedi. "I'm Padawan Rael sul B'an. Nice to meet you." He flashed her the creepy, awkward smile of his people. "Now, let me see if I can fix this..." He walked over to the doorway where the tripwire was, looking for it. Unable to see it, tripped again. "Oof-" This time, he lay in a crumpled pile halfway inside, halfway out side of the building.

"I swear....I'm really not that stupid..." He picked himself up, and reached down, ripping the tripwire out of the door way. "Usually."

"I'm Maria," the Jedi Knight replied to the Kaleesh -- Rael. She had to note the smile of the Padawan was rather creepy and disturbing, but she didn't let it show out. A Jedi had to be tolerant. She couldn't do much before he already started looking for the wire Maria had noticed. Somehow, he didn't seem to find it at first, even stumbled upon it. Maybe her eyes were a lot better? Or her skills in Force Sense made it easier for her to see these things?

"That's okay. These things happen, even though they shouldn't," Maria continued. "Things like this have happened to me, too. These young Jedi don't know what discipline is nowadays." She smiled to the Padawan. "So what were you doing here, after all?"

Rael nodded at Maria. "Nice to meet you. And it certainly doesn't seem like they do." He bundle the tripwire up into a ball, and stuffed it in one of his pockets. "Oh....ahhhh...I was looking for something to eat. You wouldn't happen to know where that would be, would you?" As he said it, the kaleesh's stomach growled. His eyes looked a little embarrassed, and his two long mandibles twitched. Rael looked around, trying to find out exactly where he was. The poor Jedi Padawan had absolutely no sense of direction.

"Eat?" Maria asked. She heard the man's stomach growl, then thought a bit. "Yeah, we could go somewhere. Though you seem to be completely lost because these hallways don't take you anywhere where you could eat." The Jedi Knight giggled a bit, then stopped. "I'll show you where to fill your stomach a bit." She remembered how she herself had been only a Padawan and searched these hallways. She had had a few masters pass her at the room and they had directed her to the right place.

Now it was her time to do that.

While they walked away from the hallways, Maria asked, "What do you think about Jedi life so far?"

"Yeah, I don't really have a sense of direction." Rael frowned a bit at Maria's giggle, not sure whether to feel insulted, or laugh with her. His kaleesh instinct told him to be offended, but his training with the Jedi told him to laugh with her. Confused, he decided to remain neutral. Rael followed the Jedi Knight through the academy. "So far, I have enjoyed my time here. Everything I've learned here is amazing. Not to mention, everyone here seems to be rather nice." As he followed Maria, he made sure to note where they were going. No doubt he would still forget it later.

"Being nice is the Jedi way, after all. I am glad you're enjoying it. Dark times are upon us; people are easily falling into the darkness and Sith have become far more repressive than they have ever been. Getting control over Coruscant is a serious thing, and one who holds the galactic capital is dominant in the whole galaxy," Maria talked to the boy. "Jedi are needed."

She looked at the young Kaleesh and smiled. "But what are you trying to achieve? All Jedi I know want something -- as an example, I myself would like to be a needed healer. One who is successful in what I do."

"I want to use the Force to defend. I understand that the Force shouldn't be used for destruction, but..." Rael shrugged, and looked at Maria. "I was raised to be a warrior, and, it's hard to lose that nature. But, rather then push down that warrior part of me, I want to control it. To let it show when it's needed, because I know it is." Rael looked around the hall, and sighed. Truth be told, he was still struggling with how he would accomplish that. He'd seen other Jedi be what he wanted, and admired them for it, but had no idea how to get there. "It's hard, sometimes. The Force is a hard thing for me to master, to be honest."

"Many people have a difficult time at mastering the powerful art. It is something beyond our understanding, and getting a full knowledge and control over it is impossible. We, Jedi, seek to get to know as much as possible, but not going too far. Our species often tells us how far we should go, and I don't believe we should cross the point. I myself am pathetic at everything other than Sense powers, and I think I should focus on what the Force has given to me," Maria said.

Her Force philosophy was something she often shared with other people, no matter whether they agreed with her or not. More often than not, she found herself to be very wrong in what she believed, and then she thought of only one thing. Force is everywhere around them, and it makes people who they are. There were supposed to be different understandings of the mystical energy due to that one reason.

"I think one has to find what they are naturally talented at, and if it's being a fighter for you, you should give your best at mastering lightsaber dueling. Being a warrior is not too bad or wrong, but it has to be done the right way. But I think your master could give you more information of that than I could ever tell you."

I just tagged this account even if it is a different character now, didn't know what to do...

Rael chuckled at her last words. "You have no idea how much my master has already taught me. Knight Vael. Maybe you know him?" Rael kept walking down the hallways with Maria, and folded his arms in front of him. Finally, they reached the mess hall. Rael's stomach once again growled as he smelled the food. "Ah, finally." He said to Maria, shooting her a smile. He rushed over to the line, and started grabbing food. Once he had a plate piled rather high, he walked over to a small table, and started munching down. He glanced over at Maria again, to see what she was doing, and then shrugged.

He grabbed what looked to be a nice sauce to add to his food, and started pouring some on his place. He'd had it before, and usually, it was a pretty mild, sweeter sauce. Real honestly had no idea what it was called, but it was good. This time, however, his was in for a shock. He ate a small chunk of nerf that had a good collection of the sauce on it. To put it lightly, it felt like his mandibles were on fire. He spit out the mean, as his yellow eyes, widened. Two times in one day, and he'd been pranked.
