Where I'm Going (Aiden's introduction)

The Outer Atmosphere, Bastion

Aiden Nebularis had no clue where he was going. He had picked this cargo ship to stow away in on whim, allowing his gut to choose. He sat tucked away in the cargo hold, hoping that he would go somewhere nice, preferably not Hoth. But then, who would deliver stuff to Hoth?
Soon enough, he'd felt the ship lurch, a sign that they were inside the atmosphere, wherever the atmosphere was. A box would have hit him in the head if he hadn't used his quick reflexes to his advantage.
"Let's see where the winds have taken us." he said to himself. He opened a small hatch that opened directly outside, a large city sprawled beneath him.
"Oh wonderful." he thought. "Another city."
He quickly closed it back until they were closer to the ground. Then, he would open it again and hop out like he'd never been there. He wasn't doing any harm. He wasn't taking anything after all. And he had no one else to transport him anywhere, and he had no credits, so he'd be stuck if he didn't do this every now and then.
Once in the city, he went out to stretch his legs after that long trip.

Ravelin City on Bastion was once the capital of the Imperial Remnant and held itself high as an imperial city. Many structures of various designs reflected off of that which could clearly resemble the styles of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War days.

Now that it was under the administration of The Primeval, things have changed. At almost every corner there was a guard or soldier keeping watch over the denizens who had curfews. Cantinas were shut down left and right and marketplaces were filled with long queues as people tried to buy their daily goods such as food or clothing. The few who were able to keep some kind of wealth enjoyed themselves in gardens and entertainment venues that were as rare as good people on this world.

Deep within the center and atop a large hill was a massive palace that eclipsed anything else.

Aiden soon found out that though this city was large like many others he'd been to, it was definitely more militarized. Armed guards were everywhere, so he tried to keep a low profile. Why were there so many of them? It certainly didn't look like a war stricken planet.
"You know what?" Aiden thought as he looked around at this place. "I'm going to get to the bottom of this."
Standing out from any of the other large buildings anywhere around here was a huge palace looking building toward the center of town up on a hill. It was as good of a place as any to start looking around, so he headed off in its direction.

As one would head deeper into Ravelin they would begin to notice that the opposite transition was true. Instead of becoming 'wealthier', it seemed that surrounding the palace was effectively the slums where crime reigned as odd as it was. A smart individual might be able to guess that whoever ruled the world effectively pushed all the dissidents towards the center and surrounded them with soldiers. The palace grew larger as one entered the center of the city. It was quite unreal to consider that such a structure even existed, let alone was built. Measuring almost 20,000km across the massive superstructure housed more than just the home of a ruler; it was the headquarters for a galactic empire.

Anja herself was somewhere within the walls and a keen observer in the force could pinpoint her strange aura as a wild, untamed signature in the force. A guard patrol made its route across the palace entrance and following them an assortment of troopers rushed to break up a small protest that formed with the recent closing of a popular cantina.

It was strange, this place. Usually in a large city such as this, the rich lived near te center, and the poor on the outskirts. But, it seemed that here, the opposite was true.
"So strange." Aiden thought as he made his way closer to the large building at the center. His intuition, if that's what it was called, told him he probably shouldn't, but Aiden didn't care at this point. He was on the case, and nothing stopped Aiden once he was 'on the case'.

The Palace was teeming with guards... It seemed more like a fortress rather than a home for royalty, yet no imperial rulers made their home here. Bastion was previously under the rule of the Mandalorians and before that the Fel Imperium, under The Primeval it was the capital of Anja's Primeval and until they expanded further to the point where they would need a capital closer to their front, it would remain her capital.

Making up the core of her troops were soldiers of the Golden Banner clad in black coloured armour from head to toe. They patrolled the ramparts that defended the courtyard which was the only pathway to the palace entrance. Other than the main entrance there were only two other ways inside. One was through a service entrance on the far side which was restricted due to its small size and the other was the landing pad located along the side and on the third story.

The rest of the personnel who found themselves outside were courtiers of sort, residents of Bastion or elite of The Primeval hoping to seek an audience with the Host Lord.

Why there were so many guards was beyond Aiden, but they were everywhere. He wanted to know more, but who could he ask in this place about matters that he had a feeling were probably sensitive? He couldn't just walk up to someone. That was a good way to get yourself beaten up. He'd found that out the hard way several times now.

Anja remained inside the palace -- specifically she was taking a walk through the rather large gardens that surround the complex. Through the force she was able to sense something, not who nor what, but something afoot. The future had a way of vaguely imprinting itself in the present through the force allowing witches like herself, sometimes Jedi or Sith Lords, to sense things before they happen. Beyond that details were missing, only the greatest force users alive were ever able to determine more than that; save for a the unique few who naturally have such an ability.

She continued her walk, unaware of the events that were going to come into play but suspicious towards the possibility of near-future encounters.
