Dominion Where is the Lamb Sauce: Silver Jedi Concord Dominion of Wann Tsir

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
aCKaftq.png

Wann Tsir was a world of beauty and grace... and a whole lot of other stuff. IN a new idea for a cultural exchange... a battle of the culinarry giants. The world itself was chosen as the neutral ground for the ultimate battle between Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor a master of the force... powerhouse in comabt and late night cooking show sensation. vs the petite powerhouse, the Jin ambassador bringing her worlds food to the galaxy.... Wu Yeoh-Mei Wu Yeoh-Mei served in the jedi order. Both were considered chefs and Wu had been in the temple before... many of them leaving as she had returned to TIantang to try and restore it. Matsu though had found it a rather fun idea to take minds off of what happened... in an event like Kashyyyk there was a few ways to do things... first was hope that they would rebuild which they had... second was justice at bringing the ones who did it to trial and rule of law... another motivation was hatred but they were jedi and would be working to avoid that aspect.

The jedi grandmaster had pushed for something liek this.. to develop a better relationship that would see the world hosting it and it bringing to them attention as their local attractions and businesses brought the commercials and ingredients. MOre things were being worked on the kitchens themselves were designed as mirrors with the best in terms of equipment... stoves, ovens, heaters, ice cream machines, fryers, mixers and just about anything that could be thought or needed to make food including a smoker. There waas also pantries for them... massive and filled with anything you could imagine from the corners of the galaxy... rare ingredients from the depths of Dac, Hapen delicacies and even sweet mandalorian Uj cakes that could be used for anything. There was audience seating, judges, and most important commentators who could explain the dishes and what was going on or who was who... all of it carefully curated to be an impressive display.

Matsu was overseeing several things on Kashyyyk now that they had cleared much of it but she was there via hologram observing and answering questions if needed. THis was a way for the jedi under her new leadership to well this wasn't meant to be stressful beyond the normal stresss with cooking the perfect dishes. She wanted them to enjoy themselves.

Objective 1: Team Caltin
Join the powerhouse jedi master in the kitchen, help him prep and cook the ultimate dish.

Objective 2: Team Wu
Join the Jin Jedi master in her quesst to cook in a normal size persons kitchen. Step stools are required.

Objective 3: Panel of Judges
Join the judging team, comment on the actions of the ones making your food.

Bring Your Own Objective:
Join the audience, join the commentary, explore the world and uncover secret sith plots that are using this as a means to to sithy things.

Exactly which side do you think that I would be on?

Chrysa was sitting there in the audience watching, and offering a wave, a wink, or a simple smile. She was more than willing to join in, but had meetings to attend as well as call, so she was going to be in and out. That was no problem as far as Caltin was concerned as he was going over in his head what he was going to make. Was there going to be some ridiculous secret ingredient that would have to be incorporated in? Was it going to be one dish or a multi-course meal?

No issue, No pressure.

Yeah right.

Sitting with his wife, Caltin could clearly see two advertising sponsors sitting with her. That meant to him that they seemed to “have skin in the game” and this little “fun jaunt” overseen by “Skippy” was going to be potentially problematic. It is not a matter of sponsors, or advertisers to get, he had a long wait list, but a curious wonder of what exactly this was supposed to entail? Who was this other person? Was she known to people and if not, what woul…

“Adventure, Excitement… a Jedi craves not these things…”

Laying his knives out and walking through the coolers, and the dry storage the big man knew what he wanted to make. What he would do was showcase what makes this planet great and add some of the spices and additives of the galaxy to improve it further, a metaphor in food. Starting with spicy buttery breadsticks and a freshly tossed salad made of locally grown vegetables. The dressing would be a mixture of oils and spices from all across the SJC domain. The soup served with this would be a melange of spices, pasta and cured meats from neighboring planets in a broth made from the bone marrow of a long cooked local bird.

That was just to start..

Objective 2: Team Wu

The time had come... the universe watched and everything hinged on this moment.... or at least it would as Wu snored for a moment. She had taken a small power nap in the break room.. her team assembled and ready as she meditated at the time.. meditation they learned meant slept and slept meaning drooled in her sleep while snoring with her white coat on. It was brand new... like she had come here in her kimono and it had been here waiting with these pants... they were kind of stiff and stretchy compared to her kimono but it did have less sleeve hazards. The fine line of drool was sucked up into her mouth again as she woke up with the announcements that they were going to begin soon.

Wu rose up and stood there as she had some words prepared. THe small Jin jedi master remained ready for anything and she was checking herself on it. "THank you for helping me in this endeavor, you are all truly the best of the best." She offered a smile to them though and looked up... she rarely stood taller then the others but her long hair was over her shoulders as she secured it into a top knot and let it drop down in a ponytail. She had dishes planned from Jin dishes to Atrisian and some others that were a surprise and designed to hopefully knock someones socks off... or at least not make her look like a total lame duck in this case.

SHe bowed her head to them and walked towards the doors that led out into the grand kitchen arena... the lights.. the smells and the sounds were all there and a mountain of a man.. well to be fair... most of the females were mountains to her. Jin were notoriously more like homunculas coimpared to the rest of the galaxy and she walked over to look at him rising up on a step stool to lay out her knives as well as check the coat for the last time. Wu looked at Caltin and crossed her arms giving her best look of confidence. "I wish you good fortune."

Exactly which side do you think that I would be on?

Slowly, one by one the rest of his team began to walk in. He did not know Wu at all, so he did not know what she might have done or who she had with her. However he had his “Cooking with Caltin” livespot crew and they were “his kitchen.” Everyone had their own station, everyone knew what their responsibilities were and most importantly, everyone immediately went to work setting up their stations to their liking without checking in or saying “hi.” Caltin did not hire Jedi, or Padawans for any of this, they were all pros and were more than happy to be there, especially with how well they were paid and what this was for.

To Caltin, this was no kind of contest, especially with the holo-cameras being set up. It was a live spot and that meant that there would be more than enough for everyone, and that meant that anything left over was going to food-banks. This was a “not for profit” spot for them and it was a noble effort on “the bosses dime” (not to mention, free trip to Wann Tsir!).

It was when the big man was coming up with the main course, three dishes in one, a creamy cheesy pasta “side”. This was paired with a different style pasta dish layered with a tangy fruity/vegetable style sauce, sausage and nerf meat (they’re everywhere!)and more cheese. The final piece to this puzzle was the seared breast of a local bird farm raised for eggs and meat with spices, and a different sauce on top. Nothing was “over-sauced” (at least that was the hope) it was all to show a style of cooking, or at least it would be. Anyway, he was coming up with this idea when both “chefs” were called to the center area.

The… wait where was she? Oh wow… she really IS a “shorty.”

”Be nice…”

Woke mother f… where’s Mel Brooks when you need him?

”Who?”

Nevermind. Anyway the REALLY BIG man was surprised at no offer of a handshake, but that was alright, he nodded her way.

This is not a competition for me. I am here to feed people and whatever happens… happens.

Then what looked to be a Production Assistant frantically came running up to him.

“We go live in ten minutes, Boss!”

A reassuring hand came up and a couple of nods. He knew this already. Which is why he let the man speak and leave without saying a word. Caltin was not in a good mood right now. The more he looked around, the more he thought that this all looked to be some kind of joke to others. It was not to him, sure, it started as one, but “Cooking with Caltin” has developed into something. He did not concern himself with a “brand” or a “following”, but this little competition was either an underhanded way to take it away from him, or Skippy’s way of showing off her associations.

Ironic really, she once told Caltin that he was the one with an “ego,” yet has repeatedly flaunted what she has. They would need to have a talk after this, because as far as he was concerned, Caltin was doing what the Jedi were meant to, and cooking competitions were not them. This was a mockery of it and embarrassing to be a Jedi.

A conversation for later though.

Alright, come grab your menus, this is what we’re making.

Objective 2: Team Wu

Wu looked at Caltin and was prepared for a lot of things... they each had their own kitchens.. she had a plan... maybe... there was the danger of what they might have to cook with or if there was going to be a sort of challenge for them to do. Time limits and all of that. She was prepared for just about anything that she would be able to face... Caltin was a mountain and he seemed prepared but she was A jin and they had a habit of being resourceful... more then that Jyoti while a strange master had taught her how to improvise and train herself.. allof those years cooking and well she did get to practice with Kurenai Yumi Kurenai Yumi whom she enjoyed making meals for. Maybe she would show up and join her team... or be in the audience with Akari... her padawan... and the sugar fiend of the order. The lights came as the time was now... her eyes went towards the small stage that had been set up for the announcements.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Matsu continued to observe, she had the hologram move to the platform as the time was now... the universe would be able to see it all come down to this. Caltin vs Wu... mountain vs short stack, master vs master.... blady blady blah... she wanted to get it on. "Welcome to the first ever Silver Jedi Cook off brought to you by the government of Wann Tsir and our sponsors Corellian Digital and Sasori." THe jedi master said it and her voice was made to go around the arena.. to give all of the ones here a better idea of what was going to be seen. "We will start by introducing our challengers. The Jedi Master Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor from the Cooking with Caltin show and Wu Yeoh-Mei Wu Yeoh-Mei ambassador of the Jin and chef for the princess of the Jin." She said it and allowing them to be able to see.

iron-chef.gif

"We have gathered the finest ingredients from across the galaxy, everything that you could think of plus some things you might not have been able to think about." She said it with a smile as they had scoured the galaxy for it... searching high and low as well as visiting the likes of the vong and even some of the purebloods on Tarantos. The jedi master was looking at it and from the floor a large box appeared... seamless metal and her hologram touched it before she spoke. "The challenge is simple a five course meal starting with an appetizer and moving to a soup or salad, main dish, dessert and palate cleanser." SHe said it to lay it out as her hand rose up to raise the covering. The gleaming white and golden orbs on display with leaves that were large. "Endor Food pearls"

“Exactly which side do you think that I would be on?”

This little addition was an annoyance, but oddly expected on the part of the big man. Truth be told he did not know it would be those little spheres from Endor that tasted like something was rubbed in a way that it should not have been but he could work with it, they could work with it. As his cooking show staff began grabbing mostly red pearls and some blue pearls, he did as well. There was no power play here, there was plenty to go around, but it was time to get to work. The cooking show staff would work in the background, they were going to cook in bulk so that everyone had something to eat, not just the judges, Caltin and whoever decided to volunteer would be in the foreground and working on the main dishes that would be presented.

The first was the appetizer. Sticking with the breadsticks as originally thought of, the host of the cooking show “Cooking with Caltin” was talking to the camera. Telling those watching at home about how he came across an interesting “Spinach” type of leaf on the planet of Belasco, as he was cutting some up and adding it to a saute pan. Moments later some Blue Pearls were mashed and made into a type of creamy sauce as combined with fruits from Mnemosyne and the “spinach” all into an interesting concoction and put that to simmer.

Immediately he went on to beginning to make the salad, putting together more “spinach” and other plants, herbs and vegetables from planets all over the Silver Jedi Concord, the dressing here was the key. Combining more blue pearls with oils, and spices along with citrus from the very planet they were on at the moment, he did something truly cheesy.

He went for a cheap pop.

This dressing is a metaphor for us all coming together. We can make something grand.

Planning to do it was good enough, bringing it up on holo-tv was a little cheesy. Oh well, he was annoyed that this was what his legacy was boiling down to.

The soup was already simmering, he had begun it an hour ago and only added sliced red pearls in rather than the sausages, also taking some of the extract and adding it to the broth itself. This would be a “vegetarian” style soup for those who do not enjoy meat. This was not a game to him, or any kind of competition, but it was easy and took little more than adjusting a few things to make it happen and fit in with the chosen twist.

This is not dignified.

When everything was ready, he personally began plating the appetizer. “Belascan spinach dip in a Blue Pearl sauce with bread sticks.”

The next course would be plated while this was being consumed and once everyone had something to eat. Again, Caltin did not operate just to please any “judges” win or lose, he was here to cook.

Jasper sat in a mid-row seat, amid the other fresh Padawans. This was literally his first outing as an official Padawan, he was green, fresh. He found what he had seen of Wann Tsir was beautiful. Jasper himself knew absolutely nothing about cooking, but he did know that there was going to be free food. He watched very intently as multiple camera crews set themselves up for the live broadcast. Jasper noticed the symbol of the Courscant Live Media Corporation.

Suddenly, a man with a blonde mohawk noticed Jasper out of the edge of his eye and smiled widely. "Jasper, is that you?", it took him a moment but Jasper recognized the man, someone that he used to work with regularly on Coruscant, Helix. Jasper jumped up, and smiled widely back "What are you doing here?" "I'm working with the Media Corp, come down with me, you'll be able to get a closer look." Jasper eagerly followed his friend down the stairs. As they approached the camera crew a man with a clipboard and an earpiece was ready to open his mouth, but Helix held up his hand. "It's okay, he's with me."

Jasper stood on his toes behind the cameras as the two main contestants entered their respective kitchens. A massive mountain of a man. Jasper had sparsely viewed his late-night cooking show. A short, Jin woman, who needed stools to be able to use the kitchen. They greeted each other and the teams started their work. Jasper and Helix traded comments on the aromas that were starting to waft into the area from the kitchens.

As both of the contestants were announced, Jasper peered at both of their kitchens. He already respected these people because they were Jedi Masters, but he knew that he was about to respect them for their culinary prowess too. Then the surprise ingredient was announced: Endor Food Pearls. "Have you ever tried a food pearl?" Helix asked Jasper, Jasper shook his head, "they taste like poodoo". It was going to be interesting to see what these experienced chefs could come up with.

The first appetizer was served up from the kitchen of the mountain of a man, Catlin Vanagor. Belascan spinach dip in a Blue Pearl sauce with bread sticks. A droid brought over plates to the crew, and Jasper picked one up eagerly. It looked and smelled really good, better than anything that he had ever had. Jasper ate the entire plateful and finished off Helix's, who was making sure he didn't eat too much too early. It was better than anything Jasper had ever had. He wasn't sure if the man would notice, because he was focused on his cooking, but Jasper gave him an obvious smile and a thumbs up.

This was going to be a good day, and this first plate had proved to him that he was going to eat better than he had ever eaten in his life.

Objective IV: BYOO - Lightsaber Practice (Open to anyone interested in a practice duel or just observing)

Travot took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled, letting the warm air rush out of his lungs and into the cool morning air.

His eyes fluttered open to the woodlands of northern Wann Tsir. Scrawny pines jutted out from the frost-glazed land. The autumn air gently rustled through the needles while the local dartwings fluttered between the branches as they foraged for food. He could smell the sweet, almost sickly scent of the dainty Tsirian Alpine Flowers that grew on the nearby hillside.

"You seem refreshed," said a Resk'la'fey, a recently promoted bothan knight.

A smile flickered across Travot's face, "Well, it is good to get out of a starship after a while. You ready for some practice?"

"Against a veteran like yourself?" smirked the bothan, "no, but I'm going to get some good instruction out of it. I've only just started to learn Ataru, go easy on me."

"Let's start out with some basic velocities - I'll just defend - show me what you got."

Travot whipped out his training lightsaber and flicked a button on it. A bright green blade jutted out of it, which briefly distracted the man. It was a good weapon - but it wasn't his weapon. He experimentally waved the weapon around before offering an abbreviated salute to Resk'la'fey and assuming a classic Soresu guard.

Resk'la'fey seemed to hesitate - if for a moment - before suddenly becoming a blur.

The bothan quickly accelerated forward before jumping forward and somersaulting towards the large man. The bothan's blade flashed from the left in a downward slash before abruptly turning about in a reverse slash to the right. Travot backpedalled even as he whipped the training blade around him in the characteristically tight arcs of Soresu - a form which had dominated most of his own lightsaber experience for many years. After resisting a good half dozen strikes, the jedi master side stepped and began to irregularly resist his opponent's attacks - sometimes gently deflecting the attacks away, sometimes violently batting the other blade away - testing the bothan's techniques.

"I must say master," said the bothan between breaths and jumps, "I'm beginning to think that you're just trying to give me a good workout."

"Well, that's a problem with the form, itself, isn't it?" said the large man with a grin, "Ataru requires almost constant, heavy physical exertion. Soresu conserves energy. By rights, I should probably just try to talk you to death while we do this in order for me to 'win'. "

That brought a hearty laugh from the bothan before the knight abruptly deactivated his blade, "Terrible. How did I do?"

"You have a good grasp of the fundamentals - many learners have trouble adapting to someone who suddenly becomes more forceful in their defense - a lot of times they hold the grip so loosely in order to get those whipping strikes that they can be easily disarmed."

"But..."

"But you lost some confidence, and thus drive when I varied up my defense. That's going to give more confidence to your opponent, and you're going to lose the initiative. And that's deadly to someone who relies on Ataru, because Ataru isn't great on the defense."

Objective 2: Team Wu

Hearing the goals and the ingredient that was to be used had the jedi master thinking about it and what they might be able to do. THe pearls were aquatic and generally salty... everything from the seas could have such a taste so it would be a question of cutting out some of that saltiness with flavor. She waited and then went to work gathering her team and they were making a plan. "You two I want to work on the broth.... use the red pearls for color and to season the meats." She pointed it out and had a grin on her face as they were setting it while two others were there. "You two, work on meats... I want thin slivers of everything... the more texture the better."

Wu was setting it up and as she directed them the soup would be something to do. She could look over and see that Caltin was developing a salad so something to counter it in style... a hearty soup more then anything and they would work on the starter dish. The secret was in what they had aas a vahla was there being brought in on a repulsor table. Lying still as needed and she spoke to one of the cameras. taipei naori has become a valued Atrisian style and for a starter. We will use a combination of Jin, Atrisian and Kiribian rices." She was working on it and getting the three types of rice just right was important but so was the delicate slices needed for the pearls themselves.

She sliced it thinkly, using different sauces under the rice to adhere it and giving it three colorss... golden, blue and red in alternating colors. TO look more like jewels on the abdomen of the woman. Cheking it all over when she was given some fo the soup to taste and nodded with it. The small red pearls dissolving to give it a red color. The different meats tender and adding to the mixture. "Some veggies for color." She got nods before going over some more of the information. Her attention went towards Caltin who was plating and playing to the crowd with his words... she was uncertain about how to play to the crowd but letting the food speak as they laid it out.

“Exactly which side do you think that I would be on?”

Next was not soup.

Next was not salad.

Next was soup and salad.

There was a small problem though, the dressing for the salad was not coming out right and no amount of tinkering or seasoning was going to change it. At this point there was no time to remake from the beginning, but he was not going to just go with a dry salad. Caltin had to think of something. It was when he looked at the two together that there was something that the big man noticed. There was not much to the “broth”, it was almost a sauce in itself. It was naturally meant to be served “warm” but not “hot” and the greens that were in the salad were not that kind that quickly or easily wilted. So he came up with the easy solution that he was looking for.

Pour the soup over the salad, combine them.

A quick taste? A dab of pepper and another taste? It was not going to win galactic awards but considering it was a last minute decision it was fracking good.

If asked, he would simply call it the “Salad soup”, maybe a simplistic name, but it was a simple meal and could stand on its own. Each person that would receive the dish would receive a large plate with two bowls. One being a soup bowl with a handle that could be grasped to pour, and the other, full of salad. They would make the combination if they wished, as much or as little as they liked and if they did not? Well that was their choice too. Either way, everyone got what they wanted out of this one.

Checking on the bird breasts, it was almost time to pull the noodles off the fire, but not before adding a little more cheese to them, not much though, no sense in taking away from the star of the dish,,, those blasted pearls.

Resk'la'fey's fur rippled, "Defense in ataru is based on evasion, is it not?"

Travot blinked, "Depending on the individual's interpretation of the style - they're own personal take on it yes. But many Ataru practicioners would probably say it's more of a 'the best defense is a good offense'. If your opponent is too busy defending to attack, you are safe. But you are only safe in that regard if you can keep that overwhelming offense going in a sustained manner. That's easier said than done in some cases...especially against someone like myself who prefers Soresu to wear down someone's strength."

Resk'la'fey wryly shook his head, "And this is why you are a guardian, and I am not."

The jedi master smiled, "We all have our own paths to walk."

"Care to reverse the scenario and show me your own take on Ataru, master, while I defend?"

"Certainly."

Travot slight tilted his body so that he wasn't entirely facing the bothan head-on. His eyes briefly scanned the environment - looking for objects which he could jump to or own. Most fhte native pines were too small to consider jumping onto seriously, though they could be of assistance in some aerial maneuvers. He noticed that a cluster of more mature pines several dozen meters away had greater height differences between the levels of branches than most of the smaller trees and saplings directly around him. I need to get over there...don't I?

He abruptly bull-rushed the bothan, whipping his lightsaber around in a horizontal slash that quickly met the bothan's own blade thrown up in a hasty party. Their blades barely sizzled before he leapt to the side and brought down a light hacking blow. Yet again, the bothan managed to throw up a quick defense against his almost whimsical and seemingly random series of strikes. In truth, the master was barely paying attention to the execution of his attacks. Instead, he was focusing on obtaining the necessary ground footwork and controlling the movement of the fight more than anything else. Attack upon attack of his failed against the bothan's parries, yet the large man had managed to drive the fight into that grove of larger pine trees. He leapt to the side once more, started a slashing attack, but abruptly backflipped onto a stout branch of one of the trees.

The bothan mock groaned as he briefly lowered his blade from a guard position.

"Don't tell me that you've got the high ground now..."'

Travot smirked, "I don't. I have the high branch."

"You're terrible..."

Objective IV: BYOO- I hear Sabers/Lightsaber Practice

Current Participant(s): Travot Ravenna Travot Ravenna

Gear: Bupkis (who needs it anyhow?)

Draven was peacefully meditating upon a branch within a cluster of pine trees. Why had he found himself on Wann Tsir? Heck, if he knew that answer. The teenager had been sort of floating along. Ever since escaping from a weird state of stasis which had found his consciousness in a time loop. Since that point Draven had been to work on a few various things to help kill time and try to refamiliarize himself with the workings of the galaxy while he tried his best to avoid reflecting too much about what had happened within the crystal cavern on the world in the unknown regions of the galaxy which had once harbored some sort of ancient civilization prior to an extinction event brought about by a combination of genocide, and dark ancient magic.

Meditation was one of Draven's go to forms of trying to avoid slipping into memories. As he preferred to allow his consciousness to join with the force and reach out towards his environment. Interacting with it on a deeper level than his senses normally could achieve. At the start Draven had been observing some sort of fauna tending to its young. It was a short-lived admiration however due to the fact his attention was drawn suddenly to the sound of lightsabers clashing. While he focused upon the foot working flowing along the ground and the shifts in air the sabers and participants caused. Recognizing the swiftness and movements of the one on offense as the basic workings of Ataru.

It wasn't however until a familiar voice spoke did Draven crack a smile. This was someone whom he recognized from a time before he disappeared in search of the crystal which would eventually be used to craft his own lightsaber. Draven focused further upon the interactions the jedi master had with his newfound trainee. While the teacher shifted from the defender to the attacker. Upon the student's request.

Draven observed the movement as the master made a few quick strikes in a method of misdirection. In order to obtain an opening. Though how the master used the opening startled Draven just a bit. As the next thing he knew the air was shifting, and the distance between the fighting, and where Draven was meditating at was quickly getting closed. Resulting in him shooting his eyes open to view what the jedi master was doing. Draven watched the student made a cheesy jest about the high ground, and the smart remark Master Ravenna responded with.

Draven rolled his shoulders and contemplated making the training a smidge more interesting. Though decided it was too amusing for the time being that he'd prefer to remain as a passive observer. If something changed Draven would consider either participating by joining as an unarmed combatant, or simply conversing with the two duelists. As Draven proceeded to take a seat, and watch.

As a Jedi Knight, Finley certainly wasn't green when it came to lightsaber combat, but now he felt like he had been knocked back to square one.

Following the attacks on the Silver Rest, Finley was one of many Jedi who sustained grievous injuries as result of the fire and explosions. Now he stood with nearly half his body replaced by prosthetics, from head to foot. It wasn't immediately obvious thanks to sheaths of synthskin and big aviator glasses, but even a casual scan would reveal the truth. There was a slight but noticeable jankiness to his step as real and synthetic parts did not operate in sync.

Even while standing still in observance of the pair of dueling Jedi, he felt itchy all over from the patchwork of metal and ceramic melded to flesh.

He needed to move, even if he looked like a fool doing it.

The culinary contest between Jedi was certainly a... curious form of outreach to their neighbors, but for the Concord diplomat, the contest was a refreshing change of pace considering recent events. The terrorists of House Io would have the Silver Jedi cower in fear and fold, but the best revenge was pushing forward and expanding the project of the Concord.

Initial attention had been paid to the two cooks as they began to prep their dishes, but now focus shifted to the panel of judges before they were to sample the courses. The show's host went down the line*, beginning with an introduction of Rosalyne. Born a princess from the Core World of Andrini, she had since married into a noble house of the Hapes Consortium. Since then, she had been a stalwart ally of the Silver Jedi, functioning as a diplomat within the Silver Service Corps for many years. While not a professional culinary critic, her refined royal upbringing and diplomatic travels had provided her a wealth of experience.

"Thank you for being with us today, Princess Rozalyne! So, your highness, what do you think of special ingredient today?"

She smiled and nodded. "The 'pearls' as they are called are actually quite fleshy, with a flavor profile I'll compare to a scallop. Mild, with slightly sweet and buttery notes. When cooked properly they should just melt in your mouth. This is a versatile ingredient, so I'm hoping our two chefs will wow us with a wide variety of dishes displaying the pearl's utility throughout the various courses tonight."

While displaying poise, she was no less gleeful than her counterparts as the appetizers were being plated and served.

Objective 2: Team Wu

Wu looked at the moment. Taking towards the judges the first dish... the naori pearls as she spoke bowing her head. "THank you. Caltin would be able to present his dish to the judges She stood there with a moment as the repulsor was put before them. The vahla laying there with the assortment of rice and pearl slivers. "To start we have three types of rice with rainbow pearl assortments. Atrisian royal rice, Jin sticky rice and Kiribian forbidden rice. Assorted with three sauces. A sweet and tangy sauce between three of them, aa mildly spicey sauce and sharp pepper sauce. All to compliment the rainbow of pearls cut thin enough to eat raw for you. Blue, Red and golden." She moved down the line and motioned ot the repulsor. "All served Atrisian Naori style.... I hope you enjoy."

“We go through our careers and things happen to us. Those experiences made me what I am.” – Thomas Keller
“Exactly which side do you think that I would be on?”

Clearly the service staff he was promised was not delivered upon as his submission for appetizers was never brought up. So he took a moment and recombined some sauce together with some leftover spinach to “freshen up” the dip, and a quick minute under the warmer would be fine for the breadsticks. The soup and salad was fine and ready to go. He would personally eat his own submission as they were tasting his appetizer. This was not going to deter him from doing his thing as, as was already mentioned, Caltin was not here to compete, he was here to feed. If everyone went home full then he was happy. There was no point to events like this when only a few get to enjoy it, at least in the big man's eyes.

Right, thank you for your time everyone. I like to cook with a theme in mind, and that is “We’re good on our own but better together.” My appetizer for you is a Belascan Spinach dip made in a Golden pearl, cheese and cream combination which comes from a farm right down the road. The recipe was reduced to thickening heat. The bread is made from locally grown grains and Nerf milk for the butter. When you are ready for it, my staff will bring you the next course, which is a salad made from leafy greens and vegetables from all over this fine planet and a soup made up of Red pearls combined with seasonings from Mnenosyme and spices from Sev Tok all in a broth made from the stock of the marrow of a (“bird we see all across the SJC domain”).

He didn’t really thank them for their time, but politely backed up and took a few bites of the very kind of salad he was serving, pouring a little more soup on top like it were dressing.

She was a bit out of practice frankly. Mi'la Undari had not used her sabers in....was it years at this point? At least months. There was no one to fight in meditation, even few to talk to, but much time to think. A pair of jedi seemed intent of dueling now it seemed, and while there were a great many antics in the midst, she decided that now she needed to try and get her bonds going once again. At least, try and get back to being a jedi. Perhaps in time, she could bring herself before Sakadi and the others, surrender to her judgement. Accept her failings.

Sighing, she continued forward, seeing a young man seemingly twitching in anticipation. Or was she imaging it? The marks of metal meshed with a scared form, and she felt a ping of sympathy. She came to a stop beside him, managing a weak smile, her hands resting on the belt from which her sabers dangled. "Need someone to pair up with?" She asked, a hint of humor in her voice. "I'll spar with you, bit rusty myself."

Least she could do was try and help others right now.

Another Jedi approached Finley, offering to duel. Beneath his shades, his crimson photoreceptors spied a female Twi'lek, but in the Force he felt something peculiar about her. It wasn't the Dark Side per se, but more like a void that ran through her being. It was at once cold, but also familiar as he had felt a similar hollowness within himself since his hospitalization.

Kindred spirits of trauma? What were the odds?

Finley smirked as she admitted she was out of practice. "Well, you're just in luck, as I'm in the process of rehab myself."

He gave his outer thigh several hard knocks with a gloved fist, which answered back with audible clanks. "Some baddies left me with a few mementos during their last visit to the Rest."

Not everyone could make light of the loss of their legs and other appendages, but the Corellian had never been one to shy away from a little dark humor. It helped him cope with the inherent chaos of their galaxy.

He raised the hand from his thigh toward her. "I'm Finley, by the way."

She nodded kindly. Her own rehab had been....difficult. She had no access to the Force, it had left her, and nearly gotten her killed on Voss. She watched his motions, hearing the dull ringing of metal under the touch, and gave a sad nod. Her cybernetic Lekku twitched, and she motioned with her left arm, letting the graphic of her arm give way to show the synthetic skin underneath. "Same here." She muttered softly,

It seemed she had missed out on more pain in her lost days. Another thing to mull over, but not here, not now. She could reflect on her failings in later times. "Mi'la, Mi'la Undari." She met his handshake with one of her own, and a faint smile with it. "Now, some ground rules, don't get cute. You start doing any dirty fighting, and it won't end well. I was trained by Master Sakadi herself, so you've been warned." She had to wonder if Master Sakadi would have taken offense to what she had said, openly announcing her master like that. She doubted Sakadi informed others who she trained. Again, something she would have to think about later.
