Whether You Like It Or Not

Marona Rayheart

"I'll take these broken wings and learn to fly"
Marona wasn't particularly fond of this situation. Well.... that wasn't entirely true she supposed, she didn't mind enforcing republic will or 'law'. Her home gone the republic army was able to give her purpose again. It was because of this she was willing to serve as a pawn, tool, enforcer whatever they chose.

What she loathed was having to work with a Jedi on this mission, they had a great use in battle for sure but this did nothing to halt her hate and distrust. It was Jedi that struck down her family-whether she was told they were dark or not did little to halt that hate, they were jedi-and that's all that mattered.

But still, she was a tool here-her loyalty sworn to the republic. So if they wished to put her with one of them than she would simply bear the situation in its entirety.

The young Echani warrior stood in the waiting room provided for her and said jedi, in wait of the force user took off the light coat she had worne here, placing her weapons to the side with it. leaving her to bear in the rather light armor of her people. She then began going through the forms she practiced every day, continuing to hone her fighting style.

OOC Note:The style she's practicing, though its probably obvious is the Echani martial arts style.

A troop? Rael thought as he walked towards the waiting room he'd been informed about. He'd never worked personally with a trooper before. Well, you could never learn too much. He'd kept himself in civilian clothes for this mission, only knowing a little about what they would come across on Anaxes. Plain, cloth and leather, and a nice cloak to pull over his head. No point in not trying to fit in with the criminals.

The Kaleesh walked into the the waiting room, and stopped just inside the door way. He saw the girl he was supposed to be working with running through some sort of exercise. Looked like Echani. Rael leaned up against the doorway, one hand resting on his saberstaff. He watched her practice for a few seconds, before speaking up. "Nice moves."

Her attention was deterred from her practice with the arrival of her 'ally'. She halted her movements in favor of looking the being over, he was a kaleesh. To be honest she hadn't seen much of their kind during her few years with the republic. So this is the Jedi she was put with?

"A warrior has to be versatile with their attack pattern, I'd imagine its the same with your use of the force right Jedi?"

The words were followed with a a cold chuckle. she continued to eye the Jedi for a moment, before taking a seat in the room.

"So did you get any specifics on the gang in question?"

She didn't really wish small talk with the force user, she'd rather get this alliance over as soon as she could-better that way.

Rael nodded at her question. "Never use the same attack twice in a fight. Makes you predictable. But, I didn't get that one from the Jedi." He walked into the room, and started walking around. He kept his eyes on her, trying to study her. He could feel her more strongly in the Force than he could a normal Republic Soldier. Rael, not being trained in finding Force Sensitives, really didn't know what it meant. He thought she may just have a stronger mind.

He stopped walking, and crossed his arms. "All I know is that they're dealing spice, and causing havoc. I was told you'd know the rest." He just shrugged at her. Even if he had been told more, he probably wouldn't understand it. Rael was still a novice at the Republic Army lingo. Let alone, remembering the complex information of an op.

"Indeed? Guess ya gotta be something before a Jedi"

She gave a light chuckle at her statement, however untrue it was to some.... she supposed they could come from all walks of life-and that was fine, just didn't matter to Marona particuarlly

"Rancor gang, well that's their name anyway. They've been harrasing the nearby store and causing Chaos, we are to stop them"

Shaking her head she did a quick stretch as she went through her explanation.

"They seem more cocky little theifs to me... I mean a name like Rancor their trying to get noticed"

She retrived her vibroblades, placing them in the sheaths on her back, never hurt to be prepared.

"Criminals are criminals in my book. Shall we get going?" Rael pulled out a small datapad from underneath his robes. He tapped it a few times, grunting as his claws had trouble controlling the screen. He pulled up a map of the area the gang was usually trolling around int. Rael showed it to Marona, gesturing to the center of the highlighted area. "I was thinking we would start here. It's somewhat in the center of their territory, so there might be some groups of them hanging out around here. What do you think?"

"Ha, well said"

Hmmm he seemed a bit different than a number if the Jedi she encountered.... criminals were criminals to him.

And Jedi were Jedi to her.

She let her gaze fall on the holopad he showed her, His idea did seem a rational. If nothing else at least she had that oversized glow stick go help stay them off should they get in s bind, joy for small victories.

"Sounds like a plan"

She steeped towards the door, her intent to exit, and begin their mission.

Ooc:I know it sucks x.x was in the middle of a school day but wanted to get something out for you.

"Let's do it." Rael followed Marona out the door. He gestured to a speeder near by, and walked over to it. He jumped into the driver's seat, pressing a few quick buttons. The engine rumbled to life, and lifted off the ground. Rael looked over at Marona. "Ready?" Once she got in, Rael would gun it, heading for the gang's territory,

He stopped at the perimeter the gang was stomping around in. He turned off the speeder, and got out. "We don't wanna draw too much attention to ourselves. You ready for this?"

Marona gave a firm nod as her answer to Jedi, he was rather... straghtfoward. Not that she minded that-not at all.

As they sped towards their site Marona took in the world around her. She despised such lowland thugs affecting the place... but it would likely give her a chance to practice her skill at the least. Gangs rarely responded to Diplomacy.

(Sorry I couldn't really think if much to say about a ride lol)

As Rael stopped, he got out. He started walking for their destination, hoping Marona would follow. He kept a sharp eye, looking around for any 'Rancors.' The gang usually showcased their loyalties in someway or another. Whether it be logos, tattoos, or certain pieces of clothing that mattered to the group. As he rounded a corner, he saw two gang members about 10 meters ahead. Each was facing each other, talking. They were both armed with long, blackmarket blaster rifles. Rael stopped instantly, and slid back behind the corner. He held out an arm, hoping Marona would stop behind him.

The gang was nearby, two of them... but where their was two their was bound to be others nearby, funny how that worked actually. Gangs were like armies in that regard she supposed, they drew to them like minded people, similer in thought patterns and actions.

Well, mostly.

A hand held out by the Jedi told her to slow, and so she stopped-at least for the time being.

"doubt their gonna peacefully disperse or anything"

She said quietly, she inched for a fight, but such action would not prove well in this situation if their were more they could be surrounded, outgunned.

Striking the head off something, however was a far more effective tactic.

"But if we got rid if the leader one way or the other... moral would be lost, that's basic warfare ya?"

"You're right, they won't. I don't really want to hurt them, however. At least not yet..." Rael reached out to their minds with the Force. He could feel their presence, and began probing around for any weaknesses in their heads. Thankfully, there were quite a few. He took a few deep breathes, and felt a rush of energy through his body. Rael sent that power out to the two thugs, letting it grasp their minds. The Kaleesh had a unnatural ability for telepathy, but he was about to try something he never had before. He grasped onto their minds, and sent his thoughts to them. The two thugs collapsed to the ground, their eyes rolling back into their head. Rael glanced at Marona, smiling.
