DARK EMPIRE
KAMPE, DEEP CORE

qXu9Rp6.png
Since the very inception of the Galactic Alliance nearly five decades ago, Marlon Sularen had been tirelessly working to bring forth their destruction, using all sorts of methods in an attempt to overthrow what he had long viewed as a nation guided by corrupt senators and corrosive idealism. In order to achieve such a goal Sularen had aligned himself with whoever could give him an avenue towards achieving such a goal which included a Confederate Sith Lord, the New Imperial Order and even an attempt to infiltrate the Alliance and destroy them from within, before eventually settling with the Maw and later the Dark Empire. Now the Dark Empire stood at the gates of Coruscant poised to conquer the galactic capital, however even then the Grand Admiral knew well that the fall of Coruscant wouldn't be the end of the Galactic Alliance and that there was still a lot of work to do if their light was to be extinguished from the galaxy permanently.

As such, the Grand Admiral had begun devising a strategy aimed at further weakening the Galactic Alliance in-between major offensives, by mainly using the very same tactics they had used to undermine both the Brotherhood of the Maw and the Empire during the Second Great Hyperspace and further refining them to make it compatible with Imperial doctrine so that it could become even more effective then when the Alliance utilized them. Given his extensive animosity towards the Alliance, Sularen was well-versed in their history, especially in regards to every conflict they had been involved from the largest wars to the smallest planetary civil wars. It was through this knowledge that Sularen had managed to come to a singular conclusion : that the Galactic Alliance just like the Dark Empire had multiple cracks beneath it's surface. Cracks that once targeted and exploited would enable the Empire to slowly chip away the strength of the Alliance and thus secure it's ultimate victory over the Alliance.

"Sir, Director L'lerim and Agent Blackwood have arrived." a voice said through his commlink

"Very well then, Colonel" Sularen answered through the comms. "Bring them in." he ordered. Despite the early the major failures of the Empire's growing intelligence apparatus at Empress Teta and Ord Mantell, the Grand Admiral still held a lot of faith in the ISB and OIT and the potential they both held for the Empire, given the resources they already had at their disposal. . If the Grand Admiral was to successfully carry out his plan to weaken the Galactic Alliance and bring the Empire one step closer towards victory, once Coruscant had been secured, he would need their full cooperation and support. Thus seated in his office within his fortress on Kampe, the Imperial Grand Admiral patiently awaited for the two intelligence officers he had summoned, ready to begin Project Parasite.

The beating sun of the desert world had just risen as my shuttle slipped into the pressurized hanger, a sign of a long day ahead of me. The journey from Coruscant had been short and smooth, eased by the web of Imperial intelligence spreading across the Core and the naval dominance between here and Empress Teta. It was my own thoughts on which I dwelled that had ultimately soured my trip, nerves as it were. The Empire's attack was to begin in just days, and I'd been embedded in loyalist cells in the lower levels, readying partisans for when the time arrived to overthrow the Galactic Alliance. The invitation from the Warlord of the Empire's office had changed plans. I'd had half a mind to attend in hologram, but if there were ever a time to send a message to my superiors of my seriousness, it was now, and it was by showing up to salute the Warlord where he could see the whites of my eyes.

On Coruscant I was just a lower city smuggler, rough and unassuming, but when I'd arrived back on Teta I'd quickly readopted the black military fatigues that were standard issue of the ISB. By the time we'd reached Kampe, I'd suited myself in my Bureau officer's dress. It was one of those rare occasions.

As soon as I stepped from the shuttle, an attendant ushered me forth to Sularen's office. Again I wondered what this business could be about. The fact the head of Imperial military had recognized me at all suggested something good. The thought of working with MILINT was promising, especially because my briefing for Coruscant had thus far been pretty thin.

As we reached Sularen's office, the attendant opened the door and urged me inside, with a tone suggesting something between a fierce respect and utter fear for the Warlord. I knew not what to expect, but in I went...

My earlier meeting with Shannic Wulf Shannic Wulf , the Grand Vizier, was still absolutely incredible; now I had to meet another person of nearly equal rank. I knew from family chronicles that the man was someone my family had dealt with before, as Marlon Sularen was the Senator or Moff of Byss when the Eternal Empire attacked that planet. I wondered why the man wanted to see me. Maybe that was the background, or was it entirely a Dark Empire thing? I think I over thought the possibilities again and it all came down to my paranoia.

When I arrived on the ship that took me to the planet, I met a now old acquaintance there, Kazian. I didn't mind him coming; he was one of the few people I wanted to work with if I had to. Still, if there was an opportunity, I worked alone, but if I had to choose a partner or associate to work with, it would certainly have been Kaz. After nearly two months of being totally dependent on each other on Ord Mantell, you could tell that I was beginning to trust him; beyond the battlefield, that is. I know that for many, such an experience would have formed an everlasting bond between the two. But for me, trust was a difficult question.

"Good day to you, Kaz! Do you know why we were invited here?" I asked him as we landed in the fort.

I didn't know much about why I had to come here either, exactly nothing. I was even surprised to see Kaz when I arrived on the ship. Before I stepped out of the shuttle, I adjusted my uniform so that there were no wrinkles; so that my appearance was perfect. As the attendants arrived, I followed them, and when we got to where we were going, seeing how eager Kaz was, I let him go ahead. I wasn't quite sure about his enthusiasm, maybe he was just nervous, I wasn't observing him that much now. More the environment and the local soldiers and personnel.

So I only entered the room after my partner, where Marlon Sularen was probably. If the man was indeed there, I took a soldier's stance and saluted him in the usual Dark Empire manner, paying my respects to the higher-ranking warlord.

"Grand Admiral! How may we be of service to you?" I asked the man in my cold voice, but respectfully.
