The First Son
Axanar-type Trade Station Port Georgiou
Druckenwell System
Port Georgiou was a veritable beehive of alien activity in the Druckenwell system. While the Confederacy was very accepting of all cultures and species, it was still dominated largely by human leadership. Then there was the droid-heavy military. Long story short, any sentient could feel relatively safe and welcome within the confines of the Confederacy's borders.
In direct contradiction to that entire reality, two uniformed, human military officers sat isolated from the rest of the patrons in one of the bars located within Section Usk of Tier 1. "Dude. I'm exhausted. That's why I requested the transfer to research and development. This government is just rolling across territory damn near four systems a month."
The other solider laughed softly. "I think you meant to say literally four systems a month. Still, I'll take that any day over trying to figure out how to optimize engine efficiency or...what was it you said your new assignment was? Some exploration thing?"
The taller solider took a long sip of his drink before setting the mug back on top of the table. "Hyperlane. The new Minister is real adamant about developing a hyperlane to cover the western spine of Confederacy space."
The other solider threw up his hands with a laugh. "I mean. Who even knows how to do that?"
