Who let the lawyer out

Sabrina was starting to make more and more contracts, and realized she need some one else to deal with the legal stuff. She had heard of someone who was capable of that job. She sent a message to him, asking him to come over his name was [member="Lucien Cordel"]. He was by all means one of the best lawyers in the galaxy, and she had a lot work to do. As well as making sure people did not know what she was doing. This is where he came in, as faceless solicitor people might not guess as easy what she was upto.

Lucien didn't normally practice law. He was good of course, graduated top of his class in fact it was just that politics and investment were far more lucrative so he had devoted himself to them for a number of years. He still handled his own legal needs and it seemed word of his ability had spread to the vitae.

The message from [member="Sabrina Kotass"] came as a surprise. He had never done business with her before and usually that would qualify an automated message and an express ticket to the archive but he was intrigued by this message so he had made time to visit her. His car pulled up outside the arranged place, his driver opened his door and lucien stepped out, This meeting was about power. No one wants a lawyer with no gravitas "Tell Lady Kotass I have arrived ..." He told his driver a communicator "I'm going to have a cigar". This was a game and the way Sabrina acted next would be very telling of her character. Lucien still had to decide if he would do what she wanted.

[member="Lucien Cordel"]

She got word that her solicitor had arrived, she told her secretary to Send him up straight away please, and give him a cigar on the way up. She sat down in her chair, and waited for him t come up in the elevator. She studied him using the security camera, whilst he came up. He looked confident, and had an air about him, other than he was fellow force sensitive she got nothing else.

She then saw her secretary give him a unlit cigar, and she stood up to greet him as was showed the way in to her office. Mr Cordel I believe? Her eyes then blinked over to her assistant, as if to say you may leave know. Would you like a refreshment? She asked as she moved over to drinks area, she had soft drinks and tea as well they obligatory spirits.

Lucien was ushered into the offices of [member="Sabrina Kotass"], his driver was about to hand him a cigar when the secretary handed him one "Too slow it seems" he chuckled and gestured for the driver to light his cigar "You can wait in the car" he added before taking a drag. It seemed sabrina had read his mind or more likely overheard him via security cameras.

He was led into Sabrina's office, he was pleased to see she stood to greet him. Good manners such as that were so rare, it was good Sabrina possessed them. He Inclined his head and smiled " Indeed, You must be Lady Kotass a Pleasure" He offered his hand for her to shake then sat down in front of her desk "Just tea for me please" He replied at the offer of drinks "Now how can I help you , My lady?"

Good she thought a man who likes to think, without alcohol in there system. She began making the tea, and asked him Milk and sugar? She waited for his reply as she finished hers off, and then his. She then gave him his tea, and said I hope it is too your liking. She then sat down in her chair, and put the tea down to wait for it to cool down. Okay I guess I should tell you why I need a lawyer. Well I need some my business interest to be protected inside the vitae alliance, when I leave. I also need to make sure my daughter is well cared for, as where I am going will be dangerous to begin with. That what she was telling herself, that's why she had to leave her behind. She could not bare being part of light, it was hurting her and she knew she had to make her own empire, then bring her daughter back to her. Hopefully [member="Rexus Drath"] would come too, as she did love him, but he was Jedi and she was not.

Lucien nodded "Just a touch" Lucien had a secret sweet tooth, just one of his many dark secrets. As for the alcohol it wasn't that he liked to think sober, it was that he wanted people to think he made important discussions sober. Such matters were trivial however. She placed the tea down in front of him and returned to her seat, not before expressing a hope that his tea was right yet another example of good manners. Lucien gave an appreciative nod. He listened quietly as [member="Sabrina Kotass"] described her needs, so she was leaving the Vitae, that was interesting "I can handle that I think, I'll need some more details but that can wait ... we need to discuss my terms and the small matter of payment " He lent forward "You see I have a rather good deal in the techno union and I can't have this jeopardizing that so you can't be involved in or perpetrate an attack against us, You must follow any and all advice I give you or I will cease giving you advice after all there is no point in me advising you if your going to ignore me and I will need you to waive confidentiality the minute I cease employment with you, As for my fee it is ... unconventional I want you to give me a stake in your holdings a stake big enough to afford me voting rights on any and all company boards I also want you to feed me information on any faction you become involved in" He sat back tea in hand "These things are non-negotiable ... I know they are steep but I assure you I'm worth it"

[member="Lucien Cordel"]

She shook her head, I am sorry but I am the sole proprietor of my company, there is no board no shares no votes, it is just me. As for your fee, I can afford to pay you well. Though that is your choice, and as for Intel I can assure you my business contact privacy is important to me. As I hope your client confidentiality is. She was not going to tell him, that she was gathering a host to create her knew empire. As to do so would make her plan incapable of working, as people would soon stop a rouge sith lord and her plan, if they new about it before it was ready. The risk was t great, so she gave option take the wages or walk. Though he may sensed in her that she was hiding something, he was also a master of the dark arts.

"That complicates matters somewhat " He frowned "I can't force you to take on a board but it will make things easier ... however I will find another way" He shrugged " I don't want Money Lady [member="Sabrina Kotass"], I have quite enough of that you can pay me in other ways If not information connections get me invites to your factions parties introduce me to people ... that will suffice " He sipped some more of his tea "As for my confidentiality you have nothing to fear in that regard so long as you remain good to me ... " He made eye contact with her "so Long as you don't hide things from me" It wasn't that he knew what she was hiding but he knew she was hiding something "If you can't respect that I have the integrity not to sell you out then I can't help you, but I doubt that will create issue will it? "

He let the silence hang for a moment or so put his tea cup down and smiled "Now tell me more about the situation, firstly why you are leaving the Vitae and how they will likely react and secondly tell me about your daughter, how old is she? What does she like to do ? What are her 'secrets'?" He needed the whole story to do his job he couldn't protect against what he couldn't see and he couldn't protect someone he didn't understand.

[member="Lucien Cordel"]

I will happily introduce you to people, but please remember we are both sith. So that means neither of us are naive, we know how galaxy works. Information is power, as helps guide armies and fleets to victory. I need to keep certain cards close for know, but when I do know you better I will trust you with them. Can we agree to that? It was said friendly tone and respectful one, after all she did his help on base matters. He may prove use full in building her empire at some point. Though only when she knew if he could be trusted fully or not, and sith where usually untrustworthy unless it was in their advantage to be so. So she need to work him out on that, and that would take time, not just in the first meeting. She sipped her tea know it had cooled down, and waited for his reply.

"We can " Lucien nodded, He could work with that and it was what he had wanted, after all one always started with absurdly high demands then it looked like compromise when they behaved rationally. He sat back "Now we have that unpleasantness out of the way tell me about the situation, everything you think I'll need to know to protect your daughter and your business " He sat back anticipating a rather extensive tale. Sabrina was astute not to trust, he was a sith and sith were dangerous, he didn't trust her, that's why he wanted something more than money,shared connections bound them meaning betrayal on either side would have consequences.

(Sorry for the wait I thought I would have wifi on holiday and I didn't.)

Well I do not feel at ease in the company of the vitae alliance any more, so I have retreated to building up my company. This was partial lie, she was also know training as many acolytes up as possible, and gathering forces together so she could declare war if need be. Though in doing this, means I am dealing with less than wholesome people. She was talking about the psychotic killers, she was training up to fight for her. She did not trust these people with her knowledge of her daughter, as unlike the sith in front of her. They where stupid enough to try something, he would not be. As he would know what would happen next, and hatred it would bring to his own door. As such I had decide not to bring her with me for know, as she is far safer and better off with her father [member="Rexus Drath"]. He is capable of looking after her, and making sure she is safe, after all she little daddy girl. She smiled at how she always ran to him, when ever she saw him. Though he not really capable with financial affairs, as such I want them to get a lump sum every month. So she will want for nothing, I also hope he finds some else, so she does want for me. Reality she knew she could be poison to child, and wanted her protected form that as well. Overall she was not sure how to be good mother, and crave conflict as she did.

ooc no worries, oh @mention me in the maraman dom, just turned up to protect my mine there.

"That explains the secrecy" He smiled. Lucien understood well the perils of cutting ties with a faction that still had it's teeth, he also knew the bond one builds with a child and it was this in conjunction with a standard of decency which would prevent him making a move against [member="Sabrina Kotass"] 's family. At heart he thought of himself as a gentleman and gentlemen didn't attack little girls ... there were better ways to take out a vendetta. Of Course Lucien also had no intent of building an animosity. Having listened to sabrina's description he smiled a little as Sabrina recalled what was obviously a fond memory "Am I to understand then that you would be willing to divorce [member="Rexus Drath"] ... It will make it easier to see to your daughters severance from you for the time being and with no noise to speak of, money could then be given over in 'child maintenance and spousal support payments and not draw attention" He drummed on the arm of his chair "There would also be no reason you couldn't rekindle things later on should you wish " Lucien had also done his share of bad parenting, he was just glad he had been given a second chance through the science of age reversal ... the prices parents will pay, it seemed to him logic fled when ones children were concerned.

[member="Lucien Cordel"] I never married him, but we thought of each other as man and wife, and yes I do love him. Though he would never follow me, he is way to honorable man for that. She wonder why opposite attract, then again if he did follow her would she love him the same. As she thought about it a slight tear, rolled down her eye. She had weakness she was leaving them behind, she had to, didn't she.

Lucien ignored her tear. He did this primarily because he didn't really know what to say to her ... crying tended to render him speechless and her plight was not something he he had experienced himself. he also didn't want to embarrass you "In that case we have two options we can go cloak and dagger and arrange for him to sue so so we can make a confidential 'settlement' where upon you give him custody of your child and pay im a large sum in instalments" that option was for if [member="Sabrina Kotass"] wanted to hide her daughter's location.

"alternatively you can just allow Mr. Drath to adopt your child and pay him a stipend monthly either can be easily done, it depends upon your wants"

[member="Lucien Cordel"]

She wiped her tear away, Well I would rather make sure money gets to him and her, and deal with his actions as they come up. She took a sip of her tea, and wonder if [member="Rexus Drath"] would ever come over to the right side of the force. That of course was the dark side right?

She then handed him a dossier, this had all her assets in the techno union in it. Also things she was planning near there space, she wanted him to make sure everything remained hers. Even if the tu took over that region of space, as she had put a lot credits into these things. She did not want a repeat of maraman, as she went of half cocked on that one.

Lucien nodded "Very well I will draw up adoption papers, I need you to get me in contact with Mr. Drath so he can sign a few things and I can arrange the stipend" Lucien didn't really have any opinion on what the 'right side' of the force. to him the force was but a means to an end it was no more than a tool.

He took the dossier "I can deal with this" He replied. He had recently been appointed director of finance and was therefor in a prime position to secure [member="Sabrina Kotass"] 's business holdings "You will have to make some contributions to the union but it will be very little and this tax will entitle you to the standard protections afforded to union members, I will get back to you on that" In truth the union was like an exclusive business club where conections could be made behind closed doors but like all good clubs it demanded a certain cost.

[member="Lucien Cordel"]

Very well, I will hopefully see you soon. On the matter of my daughter you power of tourney, but she must want for nothing. She smiled as she said that, she probably just got rid biggest evil in daughter life, her mother. She new what she was, and she just protected her form her. Though she would probably smoke a giggle stick once the lawyer had gone, one of her many weakness.
