Why do you stay on Chaos?

Sure, besides the time spent here, but what's the real reason that you're here and not off at TGC or wherever have you?

For me, personally, it's site design and structure.

Chaos has one of the best site layouts, easiest to use, and simple for otherwise complicated procedures. It also has the best factory system, meaning that not everyone is going to be running around with ultrachrome quxoni lightsabers with beskar armor with orbalisk and songsteel fingernails. Or whatever have you. It also has a great system for resolving RP issues, and a level-headed admin staff.

Factions are never easier to find and enjoy, and creating new characters is a breeze.

But that's just me. I also tend to have a good time roleplaying, that's another.

So why do you stay here?

This place is just addicting. I think the sandbox effect and the amount of factions and factory is the real draw. How cool is it to make a unique faction and try and build it up to be a major contender.

Or to make ships and blasters for your personal use. I mean the possibilities are endless.

This place is so addicting, it makes me stay up waaaay too late sometimes and piss my weekends away lol.

I was here near the beginning, and I've stuck around for the stories more or less. I enjoy seeing a map I can influence, and I enjoy not having to get characters approved. The only thing I'm necessarily required to do on this site is Roleplay, and frankly that's what I'm here for.

I'm not required to submit a huge amount of training threads just to learn a new force power.

I'm not required to roll dice for stuff like opening doors (I've seen very popular sites do stuff like this.)

I don't have to track my characters money because it's not essential to understanding the story.

I simply put up a character sheet, find someone to RP with and away I go.

That's what I love.

Part from the stunning design most other sites I've visited doesn't even compare to, this is the only Forum RP site I've ever become a member at. I couldn't quit even if I wanted to. Too many good memories, and too many I consider good friends are here to ever wanna make me leave.

I also made it clear to [member="Tefka"] that if he ever shuts this place down, I'm gonna be that puppydog scratching at the door to be let inside even though there's no-one home. ^_^

Grumpy cat? No no no -- grumpy squid!
I have this weird loyalty complex, where if I join a community I am really reluctant to leave it, particularly if I've befriended people. And seeing as how Chaos is my everyday SWRP site... you won't see me go unless I have to <3

I also don't know what that guy's craftshop is....

Gotta agree with Sarge, you receive a lot of freedom to persue your stories and yeah, I met a lot of great people here (you know who you are). I basically came for the stories, but stayed for the community.

Because I'm a tiny bit sick of craftshops and sub-forums of other mixed-genre RPs.

Although, I still sneak in my steampunk and fantasy crap as often as possible.

To live in a galaxy far, far away with some wonderful people and those yet to come who share my passion for writing and creativity.

Sometimes, it's a welcome escape from the normality of everyday life. Not in a "bad" way, but only a few can truly appreciate the joy we get from doing this...and you're all here, so I know you all understand. :)

Crazy Never Looked this Good
I agree part of it is the layout. Lord knows I wish more rp sites were like this one. But it's also for the fun, and that it helps make the time go by when I have nothing else to do.

Well, honestly - I can't say friends (Not sure who is what or if it matters?) but the people I write with that I would like to say are friends have given ME the PRIVILEGE of writing with them - not the other way around.

Honestly - escapism. Therapeutic in some ways. I love writing, despite the fact that I'm horrible at keeping up with who I owe what to.

New people who I have been honored to write with who I never thought would give me the time of day like [member="Matsu Xiangu"] for example who turned out to be someone really cool.

So I'd say the people and the creativity generated by those people. Like em or not - ya'll make some stories that are wonderful to read when you're next to a fire, on the couch or whatever.

There is a sense of community which is good - that carries forward into the well being of the unit as a whole.

And out of all the places left, this is the only one that seems to give a crap about the stories being told within.

Because REASONS

Come on old man, get the line right.

I stay here for a bunch of reasons. The sites well built, better than any others in form and function.
The factory for tech and stuff that keeps people from running around with ridiculous stuff.

I've RP'd on 3 different sites, each better than the last. 1st was casual 1 thread RP's on a gaming forum. 2nd was a dedicated Avatar TLA. Both had issues with either fizzling out or lack of activity. SW Chaos though, its just so much bigger. You can start a thread to get people to go hang out in a bar or so wreck some pirates whenever you want. Build tech to use or sell. Form nations, fight a war, explore, make friends and enemies on a far larger scale.

The galaxy is just huge, so you don't need to build a location cause its already there. There's just so much here that other sites don't have. And its not like we don't have our problems but we're able to grow and develop without collapsing in on our selves.

And the greatest thing are the people. There's so many doing so many different things, and with the multiple characters per account that makes it bacon. A lot of people are just looking for fun, some want to build an empire, others are just looking to wreck everything. But you can fall back on them if you need something, and in turn give back to the site.

This is hard to express really in detail. The short is its just better but its ohh so more than that. I just love Chaos though, and I'm sure I'll be here for many years more.

This is actually the first site that I've written on and stayed on. Every other site has been a come in, do a little, leave, maybe come back for a bit sort of situation. But every time I've taken a break from here I've ended up coming running back.
Not entirely sure why. I guess the setup is part of it. Easy enough for a youngin' like me to understand.
Then there's the people. I like the people here. I think most of 'em like me too.
So... yeah.

Don't lie bby.

You can't stay away from me for long, and that's why you keep coming back.
