| Biography |
Being born as the second child to the Winslows’ of Barossa Valley, meant that Montu Olegovich-Brutus Winslow was as per family tradition bound to serve in the Alexandrian Royal Navy or Army, while the first-born, his sister Julia, would inherit the family farm and serve briefly later in life.
Olegovich enrolled at the royal academies at the age of five, hardened by the finest education that the Kingdom of Alexandria had to offer. Due to his status as a noble, he enjoyed a smooth transition through school, the faculty generously handing out grades that would ensure a place at the best universities of the kingdom. Despite the apparent ease of these years, he was pressured tirelessly by his kin to deliver results that could live up to and honor the family name, their expectations of him only rising with every achievement of knowledge attained.
Once commissioned into the military as per tradition, Olegovich quickly rose through the Navy ranks, his status as a noble making sure he was promoted long before those without ties to royal blood, even if they were just as capable as he was. Despite the favoritism garnered within the Navy, he excelled at his craft, his astounding bravery and sly manipulation of the battlefield eventually earning him the rank of Captain aboard the Secret Handshake. During his time in the Navy, he was known as one of the most hated Captains around due to the poor treatment of his subordinates. He expected iron discipline and absolute unwavering loyalty from his crew, severe punishment being the answer to failure to adhere to his command.
By the time of the Commonwealth uprising, CNI tactfully recruited Olegovich, having had their eyes on him for quite some time. His years in the CNI during the civil war were scarcely documented, most information having disappeared after the rise of the Commonwealth. However, something that is said to have influenced him gravely during this time period, was the murder of his sister; killed while serving in the Army. This left him with the full inheritance of his family.
Nearing the end of the war and the surrender of the CNI as the last loyalists to the monarchy, Olegovich had climbed to the rank of Admiral within the CNI. Soon the newly born Commonwealth attempted to rise from the ashes of war and plague, but in an unfortunate turn of events, the Netherworld event hit the Alexandrians harder than possibly imaginable, removing their Security Council members, with the exception of Lord of Admirals Horus Nelson, from the face of existence. Being the most suitable candidate, Olegovich was soon after elected Director of Intelligence, tasked with protecting the Commonwealth and its people despite his past.
