Winter Fete Approaches!

ATTENTION OLD PEOPLE OF THE COALITION:

Winter Fete is neigh! And the younglings have been good ... er.... not endangered the Coalition ...uhh... didn't kill anybody ...no... Well, we avoided felony prosecution in a court of interstellar law anyway.

And that can mean only one thing: PRESENTS!

Ask yourself: It is not what your Coalition can do for you, but what YOU can do for your younglings. So, please take a moment to review these toy catalogs, which we've conveniently prepared to assist you in making your shopping decision for this Winter Fete season.

Speaking for myself, the Adventures of Jono Jawa: Temple of Ba-Da-Boom set would be at the top of my list.

And, breaking the fourth wall for a moment, should we have a Winter Fete social with presents for the kids? Because I feel like this should be a thing. And if we wait too long, people are going to get rolled up into holiday vacations, etc.

Loot, good sir. Who'll miss a few high-denomination credit chips? Or a couple more than a few, given these lists we're hearing about.

Besides, I think I can incorporate another facet of Audren's plans into this thread better than what I was thinking of initially.

This is probably an excellent time to remind all Younglings that:

1) Your teachers give you the gift of education, every day!

and

2) Jedi should not allow themselves to get unduly attached to worldly objects.

In other words, here, have a lump of shapeless fossil fuel to help you through the Winter :)

First of all, what kind of gift is education? Do you have ANY IDEA how boring that is?

As for the coal...

*hands [member="Théodred Heavenshield"] a roll of toilet paper*

You take the left side. I'll take the right.

[member="Zak Dymo"] Yeah? So using a lightsaber or moving objects around with your mind or any of the other stuff we teach you to do...that's not cool? Being able to survive the onslaught of a Sith Lord and hold your own in high-level negotiations...that's not cool?

Seems our students are getting more and more jaded if you're turning your nose up at that...

On the upside, should the Academy find itself somehow assaulted by hygiene products, we at least know where we can find a few willing volunteers to help clean up the mess.

And, by willing, I mean assuming you want to *ever* learn anything beyond how to properly scrub floors and peel spuds. We've got a large Temple to keep shiny and lots of people to feed. Capische? ;)

To correct a few of your false beliefs, lightsaber velocities are more like a sport. Therefore, they don't count as education.

Plus, do you even lightsaber?

And all that Force Sense, float-y stuff? None of that makes any sense anyway! I mean, how much educational value are we supposed to get out of being told 'trust your feelings' all the time? Because, let me tell you... NOT HELPFUL!

[member="Zak Dymo"] So nobody taught you those lightsaber velocities? And you're not planning to learn more? I'll be sure to keep that in mind when we look at your next few class assignments...

And, yes, I do have a lightsaber. I just prefer to think before anything else. Makes for fewer deaths and injuries, and therefore less work for a Healer.

You seem to trust your feelings when it comes to self-indulgent behaviour, though! If only you'd learn to trust the others, too, and focus them with rational and appropriate judgment... ;)

There is no THINKING in lightsaber! It's like do or do not. You smash the Sith in the face, or you go play HoloStation.

This thinking... reading... meditating...

Distractions these are. You must avoid them.

Really?Really?!

What?!?

*quickly changes the subject*

Why does Knight Jeralyr has a strong fear of inanimate objects? seems a funny thing to have a fear about. Does she not know fear is an attachment in inself?

An attachment does not just ..err .. attach, with love alone.
