Wise Ways and Foolishness (Moridin)

The setting: A room like any other, on a world of the Sith Empire.

The host: Ashin Cardé Varanin, a nice girl in over her head. Alternatively, one of the most powerful Darksiders alive.

The guest: Moridin -- Emperor Moridin to his friends.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, Your Majesty," said Ashin, leaning across the low table with her elbows on her knees. "By now I think you'll have been briefed on me -- my history, my abilities. You'll almost certainly know where I would be most effective within your organization. I've spent the last few years whipping discipline and teamwork into a government-affiliated Dark Side cult. I believe in accountability to law, and I believe you need someone who can bring your Sith to heel while simultaneously training them. I also believe that you need to keep me where you can see me."

Moridin looked a the woman across the table from him and he couldn't help but smirking at her. She was forward and straight to the point, he rather liked that. Now a days he hardly had time to waste, being Emperor had taken more out of him than he would like to admit. He intertwined his fingers on the table, and then look across at Ashin with another grin.

“Correct on all counts.” The Emperor said with his smirk giving no sign of disappearing. If he could recruit Ashin into the Empire...well it would be a massive step forward. New Sith would be trained better, the law would be more strictly enforced and most of all The Emperor would gain a powerful new...well ally was the right word for it. “Though we are hardly an organization. We are an Empire, true to the word.”

Moridin's Empire was currently the largest faction unified within the galaxy, he was quite proud of that fact.

"I'm aware of how many star systems you control," she said with a nod. "But territory isn't everything. I hear the Mandalorians have been giving you grief that is, shall we say, inversely proportional to the experience of your Sith forces.

"What I have in mind -- what's worked for me in the past -- is a balance of incentive and discipline. If I come to work for you, I expect no honorifics, no assets. That's not how I operate. What I require is carte blanche to fix what needs to be fixed. No oversight, from you or anyone else. In return, I will whip your forces into some degree of shape.

"That's my proposal. Do you have a counteroffer? Concerns, perhaps?"

Moridin smirked slightly at the mention of the Mandalorians. So far the Sith had been winning against the mercenary's, although it was true that the Sith Soldiers were nothing compared to the Mandalorians. His troops were winning through sheer number, and nothing else. The Dreadlord looked at Ashin, studying her and her words. This was a risk, she could completely and utterly betray him but on the other hand she could strengthen his Empire to untold lengths.

Besides, if she betrayed him he could always kill her. Such was Moridin, confidence and pride to the very max. “I accept. I am not one to argue with things that make sense.”

“Though of course I must state the obvious. If you betray me it will be your life.” The Emperor spoke quite coldly. He of course expected that Sith and Jedi alike were constantly plotting to overthrow and kill him so adding another to the mix wasn't the worst thing in the galaxy...but he had to make sure that she understood he would not take kindly to betrayal.

"That's the way of things, isn't it. If it helps, let me offer an assurance to you: Stay sane, and I'll stay on your side. If you'll forgive a sort of backwards insult...you are the lesser of two evils."

Ashin folded her arms.

"Tell me about your people. Who has the proper sort of...law and order mindset...to work well with me? I'll need a lieutenant."

Moridin chuckled slightly, the lesser of two evils. He didn't know exactly what she meant of course, but in his opinion she regarded chaos and disorder as the greater evil than him. The Emperor thought for a few seconds about her second question, one name immediately came to mind.

“My Vizier. Kaine Zambrano.” The man could be trusted, that much The Emperor knew and he was rather intelligent as well perfectly suited to aid Ashin, though he was often otherwise occupied. Another name came to mind however, Anaya. “He is an Intelligent man...Though rather busy. A person that may be more well suited, my Former apprentice, Anaya Fen. She is intelligent, as well as a strict adherent to my laws.”

"Anaya Fen...I'll make a note of that. You mentoin your laws, specifically. I'm familiar with some -- no ascension through assassination of one's Master, for example -- but which others do you consider special priorities?"

“That law above else must be enforced of course. As i'm sure you know Sith love to kill one another.” Moridin spoke as though he was referring to the Sith as children. “There are many laws within the Empire. The ones that I have had trouble enforcing however are quite simple. My Sith have a habit of taking jaunts across space and commencing random acts of slaughter. They kill without realizing who they kill and what the consequences are. Murder of slaves is also quite common, and of course there is always the problem of mistreatment of the Civilians within our Empire.”

"I've tried execution for that very problem, but that has, historically, failed as a deterrent. I think you and I are of one mind on this." She leaned back and steepled her fingers. "I intend to find the motivators that work for our particular people, and the discipline to match. Now that you've given me carte blanche, I intend to be creative. Something as simple as withholding training of some specialized skill...and I have a couple of those, things they might find valuable...yes, I'll start immediately."

OOC/ Off for the night, cheers.
