- Need for Speed: Wolf Lead is equipped with technologies from the venerable A-wing and TIE Defender lines of fighters. Taking the best technologies from two of the fastest interceptors of the era, there truly are few spacecraft that can match its death-defying speed.
- Excellent Maneuverability : Equipped with an advanced array of maneuvering thrusters, a pair of gimbaled propulsion thrusters, advanced inertial dampening systems, and excellent flight control systems, this fighter is capable of pulling off very quick and high-g turns, making it an almost perfect dogfighter
- Flexible Payload: Using a multi-purpose warhead launcher allows for the use of a variety of missiles, rockets and bombs, including proton torpedoes and advanced cluster missiles.
- Ace Custom: Ari modified, equipped and fine-tuned this fighter to exact specifications that fit her personal abilities and flying style. When her hands are at the joystick of this fighter, both she and the fighter complement each other perfectly, allowing her to use the fighter and herself to their absolute limits.
- One of a Kind: the unique choices in equipment, weaponry, and avionics make this fighter a particularly difficult one to maintain. Ari's always having to scour multiple sources no matter where in the galaxy she is, just to find the right parts and pieces to fit such a unique fighter
- Fly on a windshield: The downside of the breakneck speed and death-defying maneuverability that this manned-missile is that pesky thing called inertia. Even with inertial dampeners, a collision against a large object like a capital ship or planetoid at the speeds Wolf Lead is capable of will make sure the only thing left is a crumpled up ball of steel and flesh.
- Ace Custom: This truly is Ari's personal, custom fighter. Another pilot could fly it, and might be able to do somewhat decent, but with the controls, inertial dampeners, and pretty much every other system tailor-made and fine-tuned to fit her purposes, only Ari is going to be able to get the absolute most out of this fighter.
- No Help Whatsoever: There is absolutely no room whatsoever on this fighter for an astromech, Weapons Systems Officer, or droid brain, and so it inherits the A-wing's disadvantage of requiring the pilot to manage weapons systems, propulsion, targeting, inertial dampeners, and other systems all at the same time.
After acquiring Wolfs Den and being one of the founding membres of Wolf Squadron, Ari Naldax decided that, using her own income, she would modify and design her own A-wing as the squadron's leader and ace-in-the-hole. As such, over the next few ports of call between missions, she began to upgrade the systems, replace different parts, and fine-tune her fighter to serve as the perfect starfighter for her purposes. Over time, through research, trial and error, and the suggestion of her maintenance crew, Ari began to develop specifications for a complete top-to-bottom rebuild incorporating design elements and equipment from one of the most advanced and iconic fighters of its era - the TIE Defender.
Wolf Lead was the final product of this endeavor, combining the unmatched speed and maneuverability of the venerable Defender with the recognizable airframe and superior hyperdrive of the RZ-1 A-wing. Equipped with advanced flight control and avionics systems and controlled with a HOTAS Layout as opposed to the center-stick of the A-wing or yoke of a Defender, this custom starfighter is designed explicitly and extensively to the personal preferences of its owner, and is well-equipped for any mission it's called to take on.
