- Right-Out-Of-The-Box: Parts of the corvette that would normally hold extra cargo bays and unnecessary consular facilities have been modified into a pair of hidden hangar bays in which 12 A-wing Pattern starfighters can be ejected. This out of the box tactic allows the Wolf's Den to maintain the visage of being merely a heavily-modified (as all corellian ships are) consular frigate until it's caught its targets unaware, after which it can release Wolf Squadron's
- Where do you think you're going?: The two Heavy Ion Beam dishes at the front provide a capability roughly equivalent to a pair of SPHA-I cannons, easily allowing a sustained beam to, over a minute or so, disable a ship of comparable size and defenses.
- Gas Gas Gas!: The CR-pattern ships weren't used as blockade runners for no reason. Equipped with high-grade Corellian engines, this ship is very fast for its class and can most comparable or larger ships unless they're built explicitly for speed.
- Don't Understeer: This speed comes at a cost as these ships aren't exactly able to turn on a dime, especially at higher speeds. You can expect to get wherever you need fast, but don't expect to be making course corrections on the fly.
- Bring Her Guns to Bear: Her main battery - the aforementioned ion-beam dishes - are bow-mounted, which means that to fire them her crew must bring her around - which can be extremely dangerous in a firefight and nigh-impossible against a smaller and more nimble opponent.
Corusca's Gem had been a smuggler's ship operating out in the outer rim for years, and over those years had picked up several major modifications, including cutting-edge engines and extended cargo bays that could easily eject containers full of illegal or otherwise suspicious goods, and a few other enhancements. After many years of escapades and adventures, its owner eventually found himself in a jail for his countless crimes while his ship was impounded in the junked-up orbit of some backwater graveyard world, lost to history
Gem found itself new life as an intrepid group of military pilots and refugees scattered by the ravages of war went looking for a bucket of bolts and ended up with a diamond in the rough. After a few weeks of cleaning the cooridors, refurbishing the cargo bays and conference room, and redoing most of the state rooms into mercenary bunks, they set off in their new ship, rechristening it the Wolf's Den after the mercenary squadron they were putting together. Eventually equipping it with a pair of ion beam emitters to round out its armament, the pilots and crewmen of Wolf Squadron have made "The Den" the mainstay of their mercenary operations.
