Public Wolves among sheep (Royal Naboo Republic)

Location: Theed, Naboo

Eerie Omera was a few things. Granddaughter of her peoples Matriarch, warrior and leader in training, and now loser of expensive gifts for affluent leaders. Probably not the best title to add to the list, but there it was. How did she earn this new title? Well....

Heterochromatic eyes stared at the overturned crate. Then to her Kubrae, Thonir, who in turned watched her. That gaze turned to the three unconscious would be thieves. Then....to the police droid who was staring her down like a disappointed parent. Which was kinda unnerving really.

"I'm just going to repeat this for clarification." Came the droids mechanical voice. "A group of thieves, dressed as hangar crew members, attempted to steal from those crates. Then you stunned several of them with this?" The droid held up a small blaster carbine that was set to stun.

Eerie stood at ease and tried to not show any emotion when speaking to the droid. Her eyes flickered to the blaster then back to the droid. Yeah, turns out blaster fire draws in law enforcement around here. "Yes, that's exactly what happened. They broke into one of the crates. That's when I got the drop on them and.."

"Got the drop on them? As in an ambush? How do you know that they weren't a more substantial threat?"

"They were clumsy and disorganized. When the first person fell, so did their resolve. Few responded immediately or stood out in the open trying to find the threat. Most ran at the first sign of trouble. I did station myself near the door controls just in case things got bad. Then I could just lock down the ship."

The droid stared at her for a moment, its eyes flickered for a few seconds. "You're from a military planet, aren't you. That explains a few things. You're also the daughter of a dignitary. So that means I can turn this case over to someone at the embassy. And...there, file transferred." At that moment Eerie was sure that the droid sighed in relief.

The droid left Eerie to her own devices as he went to oversee the arrest of the would be thieves. Letting out her own sigh, Eerie began to perform a small patrol along a line as she waited. All the while wondering how upset her mom might be.

Lorn ambled into the Theed Spaceport, the familiar hum of activity washing over him. He wasn't there for any reason, not really. He disliked flying, the enclosed spaces and the strange feeling of lift-off always unsettling him. But in the lulls between Vanguard duties, the energetic chaos of the spaceport was a balm. It was a stage where lives played out, fleeting connections made and broken, stories of journeys just beginning or reaching their end, all playing out around him. It kept the silence at bay. The silence that always seemed to echo within him, a reminder of the friends he'd lost. He wasn't ready to replace those memories just yet, so the spaceport was a good enough stand-in.

Lost in the rhythm of the spaceport, something caught Lorn's eye: a young girl, standing near an overturned crate, with a massive canine by her side, talking to an imposing police droid. Lorn's curiosity piqued. The girl seemed to have single-handedly subdued a group of would-be thieves? He found himself drawn closer, his light footsteps barely audible amidst the din of the hangar. He caught the tail end of the conversation, the droid mentioning something about her being from a military planet, and being the daughter of a dignitary. He could relate to the military aspect, having spent the majority of his life on a planet that was very much the same.

As the droid departed in what seemed a sigh of relief, Lorn moved toward the girl, a casual stroll masking the curiosity that burned within him. The large canine, with its shaggy fur and watchful eyes, immediately moved to intercept him. Lorn stopped, holding out his hand, palm up, towards the dog. He smiled, letting the Force flow through him, a gentle tendril of calm and friendship reaching out to the creature. He carefully made contact with the dog's fur, grounding himself in its presence, a small connection made.

"What's his name?" Lorn asked, his voice a soft, directed at the girl. He hoped it was enough to get her attention.

He turned his gaze, pausing for a moment, and looked to the still being rounded up thieves, then back to the girl. "What kind of trouble are you starting today?" Lorn's tone was light, teasing, a playful edge to his words that belied the quiet admiration he held for her calm handling of the situation.

Eerie watched the droid move away and began to weigh her options. Her mom would find out about this, that was a given, but how to lessen the punishment.

Movement from her Kubrae drew her from her thoughts. Glancing to the side, she watched Thonir step between her and an approaching figure. She watched as he raised his hand to Thonir, then a tug in the force. So a force user. A Jedi perhaps?

She turned to face the man, while still maintaining an at ease stance. "His name is Thonir. Named after one of the moons on my home planet. He's a Kubrae." Her gaze took in every inch of the man, taking in every detail. From what he looked like, the gear he held and what manner he held himself in. From what she could tell, he had an air of military background to him. Much like herself.

The young teen gaze a quick sideways glance at the thieves being restrained and hauled away. "Just defending what is mine. Local authority believes I should have just called them first. I believe that would have given them more time to escape with a larger reward for their efforts."

Lorn's fingers continued to gently scratch behind Thonir's ear, the thick fur surprisingly soft beneath his touch. "Thonir..." he repeated, the name rolling off his tongue with a quiet appreciation. He could feel the powerful canine leaning into his touch, a low rumble vibrating in its chest. It was a creature of loyalty, Lorn could sense that, and fiercely protective of the girl at his side. He straightened, offering a final scratch before turning his full attention to the girl.

He closed the distance between them with a few measured strides, extending his hand in a gesture that felt almost formal, yet somehow appropriate given the gravity he sensed beneath her composed exterior. "Lorn Reingard." he offered, his voice calm and steady. He knew it might seem strange, offering a handshake to a teenager, but there was a maturity in her gaze, a quiet strength that belied her age. It was a level of self-assurance he found himself drawn to, a commonality he sensed between them.

His arm dropped back to his side, before he crossed his arms, his gaze sweeping across the scene. The evidence of the earlier scuffle was still present - the overturned crate, a few scattered belongings, and the muffled shouts of the restrained thieves as they were being herded away.

The security droids seemed to be finishing their work, and the chaos had begun to settle back into the steady hum of the spaceport. Lorn let out a breath, taking the situation in, he was coming to a quick conclusion of what had happened.

"I'd say you handled the situation perfectly. I would have done the same." he said, offering her a respectful nod. He understood the instinct to act, to protect what was yours, and he admired the straightforwardness of her actions. He allowed a slight grin to appear, a simple showing of approval. His eyes came back to her, "What were they trying to steal?"

Eerie watched as the stranger scratched Thonir's thick fur for a few moments longer. The Kubrae was normally protective, but he seemed content with the man. If he was a Jedi, the he would be more welcome then previous company.

She kept her guard up as he approached, bit shook his hand out of a matter of formality. "Eerie Omera." Her gaze followed his as he surveyed the hangar and would be thieves. Lorn's praise of the situation quickly brought her attention back to him. Odds are he most likely approved of her actions based on his, what she assumed, was a military background. "At least someone here understands." She said quietly.

The question then turned to what was stolen. Right, that was still an issue. "Those crates had gifts for several politicians and more...affluent memebers of society. Mainly too show that my people have things worth trading, in an attempt to draw more trade to our planets."

Lorn listened intently as Eerie explained the significance of the stolen crates. Gifts for politicians and affluent members of society, a demonstration of her people's worth, all in the pursuit of trade – it was a delicate balancing act, a subtle dance of diplomacy and commerce. He understood the stakes, the potential impact on her people. He moved then, his movements fluid and purposeful, towards the scattered crates. He began to right the tipped ones, his strength easily managing the heavy containers, his mind whirring as he processed the information she'd offered.

"So, a diplomatic package." He mused, setting the last crate upright and turning to face Eerie. "That adds another layer of complexity to it. Theft is one thing, but theft with potential political ramifications, that's a different game entirely." He ran a hand through his hair, eyes focused on the crates as if looking for answers within the metal panels.

"Where are you from?" He asked the question that had already been playing in his mind, his tone casual and yet still laced with a keen interest. "Maybe," he added, his gaze meeting hers and he offered a small smile, "I can help you deliver these? I have some free time." It was a practical offer, not born out of any desire to be a hero or insert himself into a situation that wasn't his. Instead, it was a genuine attempt to be of assistance.

As Lorn watched her, a representative from the embassy approached, the police droid at its side directing the newcomer towards Eerie. Lorn stepped back slightly, giving them room to speak. He was curious about what she'd say to the diplomat. He folded his arms over his chest, his eyes shifting between the diplomat approaching and Eerie, waiting to see what came next.

Eerie was somewhat surprised at Lorn's sudden move to right all the crates. She didn't ask for the help, but she wasn't one to turn it down. Not wanting to stand idly by, she moved to help him in his work. Moving what she could and gathering small things that had been scattered.

The teen gave a nod of affirmation to his question about the crates. "Yes. They also seemed to know what ship to look for, but not which crates to look in. Kinda seems like they were looking for something specific, or someone specific. Maybe there was someone they didn't want receiving their gift."

She turned to face Lorn when she asked where she was from. "My people are from Arsenae, but I was born on Bretia. A colony planet of ours. Right now though, I'm on Arsenae going to the military academy there." Her eyes never left his as she judged his reaction. "Do you live on Naboo?"

"I'm not exactly who all these crates are for. My mother has that answer."
Her gaze turned to the crates as she observed them. She didn't like the fact that someone knew that this were diplomatic crates. Or maybe they just thought hitting a diplomatic ship would be profitable. "Although, there's probably a datapad around here somewhere with the names."

Her attention was drawn to the newcomer with the police droid. Great, this must be the embassy rep the droid mentioned earlier. More people to explain this to, and probably some politics involved. Not something she throughly enjoyed.
