Major Locations:
The Broken Earth
-Home to the Ashan Sect, the Broken Stones is a small crater by the original arrival of the Pureblood Sith. The crater itself was created during the initial encounter between the Shasoti and Sith, where the Sith Kissai initiated their attack with the creation of a ‘sinkhole’ in the most concentrated area of the Shasoti onlookers, the planet’s main city.
After the separation of the Shasoti/Sith population into several sects, those lead by Asha erected their homes in the ruins of the old city.
The Sullen Clearing
-The second of the cities on Won Shasoti, this city is occupied by the Haski Sect. Similar in construction to the city at the Broken Earth, a central building houses the Sect Leader and his or her family. The remainder of the city is built around this.
The Howling Hollow
-Home to the Kotsi Sect, the Howling Hollow has a single river cutting down through the valley, emptying into a lake. The city of the Kotsi was constructed around this lake, the Sect Leader’s home placed at the edge of the water, the rest of the city growing around it.
The Iron Steppes
-The Steppes give a home to the Derriphani. The Steppes give a wide clearing before backing into one of the many cliffs. The city itself is hollowed out of the cliffside, the Sect Leader’s home buried deep within. The city is lit by bioluminescent glow worms who like to grow within the damp stone lamps created by those who live within the city confines.
The Weeping Cliffs (Force Nexus)
-Previously home to the Qoritan Sect, there remains now only ruins of the once prosperous city. A nexus of the Dark Side, the blood of the Qoritan, soaked into the ground, the site of a genocide of an entire people.
-Size: Area, destructible
-Intent: Give a solution to discovery of planet through blind hyperspace jumps guided by the Force. Provide an area for Darkside users to neditate and grow their powers.
In terms of location, in relation to each other…
On the central continent of the planet the Weeping Cliffs exist to the far west of the continent. The Sullen Clearing is 36 km North East and the Howling Hollow is 51 km South East. The Broken Earth exists right between the latter three locations while the Iron Steppes exist farther East, nearly 131 km East of the Broken Earth.
Culture:
Although life among the four still existing sects may vary, they all focus on two things. Serving the Sect Leader, and preparing for impending war. Without an actual industrialized manufacturing process, the people create weapons from the scraps they already have. In terms of serving their Sect Leaders, this varies from bowing to every whim to begrudgingly obeying.
For the Sect Leaders, they seem intent on upholding the nearly ten thousand year old feud started by their forefathers. They demand their people to be fit for war, or be in preparation of it. Both men and woman fight their Sect Leaders’ wars.
Technology: Previously capable of interstellar travel, they have since abandoned such expeditions. Still capable of achieving a fragment of modern technology, their ‘advances’ go towards war, often only refurbishing old weapons, or creating ‘scrap-tech’.
History: The planet was first discovered to the native’s own curiosity about the greater galaxy. Having attained technology that allowed interstellar travel shortly after the end of the Great Hyperspace War, the Shasoti set out among the stars in their new vessels. Unfortunately, most of the vessels, still in their infancy encountered mechanical failures causing some to be torn apart in the midst of hyperspace. The few that did survive their virgin voyages dropped out of hyperspace within Sith Space. The superior Pureblood Sith vessels, quickly eliminated the remainder of the Shasoti vessels, leaving one still functioning. The Sith vessels, at the time commanded by some of the Kissai, or Priests, of the Sith sent out their Massassi Warriors to board the Shasoti and seize it. Upon success the Zuguruk, or Engineers, went in and searched the unfamiliar vessel for anything that could be used. Finding only out of date tech, the only thing of true value were obscure co-ordinates, those of which would guide the Priests to the planet the star system from whence the Shasoti hailed.
It was the Sith who named the star system and the planet. Jen System, meaning ‘hidden’ due to the star systems unknown obscurity. The star itself, Chwuq, meaning ‘Ember’, due to the fact that beneath the planet’s stormy ceiling, the sun appeared to be a smoldering ember. The planet, Won Shasot, or ‘To free passion’, the intent with which the Priests came. The moon, Dzu, or leaf, due to the way the moon shifted from green to brown to white much like the spring and fall and winter.
The Sith Purebloods, upon landing on the planet would unleash an assault and conquer the planet, ruling over it for multiple decades, preferring to stay on the planet where they held all the power. However, greed would soon overtake the five priests, Asha, Hask, Kots, Derriphan, and Qoritan. The five would split apart, thus taking followers with them and splitting apart into five sects. After the construction of their cities, the five sects quickly launched into short and bloody war. The war ended when the Qoritan were wiped out by the other four sects, who believed that the Qoritan posed the greatest threat to any one of them. The Qoritan were slaughtered in their own homes, those who fought, pushed back to the cliffs and thrown off.
After the Great War, as it came to be known, no war between all four of the remaining sects ever occurred. Usually two would fight each other before deciding to attack another. And that is how it continued for many millennia, the constant war taking the planet’s focus away from any true technological advancement.
Despite the planet's complete isolation, the Gulag Plague managed to find its way to Won Shasot. The Plague decimated the planet's population. Those who weren't killed in battle were killed in their beds. Then came the 400 Year Darkness. When others could have come to the hidden planet, none did. The ones who could have ended the ceaseless fighting never arrived. War continued to reign. Each sect blamed the other for the spread of disease. When the Plague finally subsided, the battles only grew in intensity. The Netherworld Event didn’t leave the planet unmolested either. A significant portion of all the sects mysteriously disappeared from the planet. Importantly, the leader of the Kotsi was taken on this day as well, leaving his two children to fight for leadership of the sect. While the Kotsi occupied themselves with infighting, the other three sects launched into another Great War, which continues on to this day. This mass disappearance became known as the Betrayal.
