Description:
The Wraith is a high end particle rifle specifically designed to reach across a battlefield and eliminate virtually any target.
With the growing hostilities between the Jedi and Sith organizations throughout the galaxy DeathTech Incorporated has decided a particle rifle was long overdue. The highly volatile energy beam of a particle rifle becomes explosive when it meets almost any form of resistance. From the hardened body armor of the average soldier to the energy field produced by a lightsaber, any sudden alterations in the particle beam results in a violent explosion; an explosion not unlike a smaller thermal detonator, approximately one half meter of searing heat libel to maim anything caught in the conflagration.
The Wraith is fairly short and of a fair weight when compared to other Sniper systems available throughout the galaxy, leaving it unremarkable in that aspect. The complex and multipurpose scope on the other hand is something noteworthy. With multiple magnification settings and two alternative vision filters, the Wraith is dangerous at distances as close as ten meters or more than a kilometer away.
Because of the high energy demand of the Wraith the firing process is slow, about one shot every five seconds. The trigger is a "two stage" trigger. When the trigger is first squeezed it locks into it's stage one, a two second delay as energy is gathered and the shot primed. Once charged the trigger unlocks allowing the shooter to actually fire. Afterwards the barrel vents excess heat via thermal ports at the the top of the rifle, this lasts about one second. A well trained shooter can achieve a shot every four seconds but often there is a momentary delay as they allign on their intended target.
