- Energy no more: In a similar manner to the Soteria Robes he’d designed for Gianna Aegis, the Wyvern's Shaddow that John designed for his fellow Exarch Srina Talon had a similar energy manipulation effect. Although, unlike the Soteria Robes, the Wyvern's Shadow the robes did have a passive effect, the tutaminis imbued into the fabric that could absorb energy thrown at them. The energy was then shunted into the threads of refined Pyronium used to provide the ornamentation of the robes and woven through the fabric. The Pyronium stored the energy collected in this way until Srina feels the need to call on it to fuel the robe's other powers.
- A little bit of this and a little bit of that: Alter Environment is one of the core abilities that the armour is built around. Normally used by force users to manipulate the environment, the force power can create clouds of fog, thunderstorms or extreme temperatures. The Wyvern's Shadow uses it differently however, adjusting it to further enhance Srina’s combat style. Every punch, every kick, every movement of the Echani could unleash these additional effects. Heat, cold or even electricity, able to provide Srina with options to enhance her attacks.
- A shell of wind: The Echani’s attacks weren’t the only aspect of combat that the Alter Environment abilities built into the armour would enhance. The ability also allowed it’s user to: “vacate areas of air, or increase the pressure of the air to burst eardrums” (Wookiepedia). This would allow Srina to alter the very pressure of the air around her, decreasing pressure to allow her to move faster, or increasing the pressure to slow an enemy’s attack, weakening and slowing their strike making it easier for the warrior to deal with it.
- Like you’re moving through treacle: Although John had already provided a means for Srina to move faster if needed that wasn’t enough for him. He also had the armour imbued with force speed, that ability that allowed a user to move faster if needed. The ability also had the effect of making it seem as if others were moving slower, allowing the echani Exarch the upper hand when it came to dodging or countering enemies in combat.
- Stealth: The Neithweave the armour is made up of is interwoven with strands of Nightshadow that makes it very hard to get a solid sensor lock/image of the fabric. It is able to shed sensors like a duck sheds water, appearing as little more than a ghost, if even that.
- Force Beacon: Like any alchemized or imbued item the Wyvern's Shadow acts as a beacon in the force, making it very difficult to hide from any other force user.
- Null Field: When exposed to any kind of force nullification field the enhancements imbued into Wyvern's Shadow are negated, leaving it as nothing more than a fancy looking set of armour.
- Light Armour: The armour is made out of a light silk, while the force alchemy involved in the Wyvern's Shadow's creation provides the robes with a level of invulnerability, it doesn’t equate to a suit of full armour. While the armour is proof against penetrating attack it won’t do anything against the physical impact of the attacks. The thin nature of the armour doesn't just allow the physical strike of the any attacks made against it, it lacks the basic protections against the elements and biological threats that you would commonly expect of a protective suit.
- Meltdown: While the Pyronium can store a significant amount of energy, that also makes it vulnerable, any damage to the Pyronium mesh can cause it to lose its ability to store energy, potentially causing a release of the contained energy as well as degrading the armour's ability to store more energy until they're repaired.
- Complete the circuit: While the robes are able to store energy, in order to use the robe's other abilities the energy then needs to be transferred to activate the effect, which requires an active choice on Srina’s part. While this is done through the force, the flow of power is limited by the amount of energy which Srina is capable of utilising herself. The energy stored in the robes is nothing more than a reservoir for her to draw on. This means that no matter how much energy is stored, she is incapable of using more than her ability to manage, preventing her from punching above her weight. Trying to use more energy can result in the user burning out through the force.
The galaxy can be a scary place, full of all sorts of horrors that prey on the innocent, from the monsters of deep space to those that wished ill on their fellow beings. Against all these evils the Confederacy and its agents stood strong, a shield between the innocents who looked to them for protection and the evils of the universe. In this fight, the Confederacy had no greater champion than Srina Talon, the pale-skinned Echani Exarch.
To assist her in her duties John wanted to create her a personalised combat outfit that was designed to supplement her combat style, allowing the Sith to be that much more effective on the battlefield.
He started the creation of the Wyvern's Shadow with Locke and Key’s signature Neithweave, assembling the suit and its pyronium mesh before passing it to be imbued with the required abilities. The Neithweave gave the Wyvern's Shadow its inherent protections which were only enhanced by the imbuement process. The nanobots mixed into the outfit would keep it clean, no matter where Srina fought, no matter how much blood she found herself covered in, she would come out of the fight looking pristine.
The main abilities of the combat suit were based around the ability of Pyronium to store the energy absorbed by the tutaminis allowing Srina to influence the environment around her, turning her into a force of nature in a fight. With this, the pale-haired Echani would be able to continue to defend the Confederacy from its enemies much more effectively than before.
