OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
X14-A Scylla-series Aquatic Battle Droids are heavily altered X14 Stryders modified for aquatic environments. Within water, they move with the ease and agility of an aquatic predator, bobbing to and fro to evade enemy fire while making full use of their own weaponry.
They are most commonly equipped with a pair of sonic weapons modified to function underwater - they emit fast-moving 'bubbles' of sonic energy that burst on contact with a solid object, releasing a shockwave of sonic force into the nearby environment. Broken bones and heavy bruising are a common sight among survivors; a centre-of-mass hit is most likely to lead to death by ruptured organs unless the target is heavily armoured.
As with other sonic weapons, they have a major advantage - most armours are made primarily to protect from run-of-the-mill blasters.
One of the more distinctive features of the Scylla-series is their photoreceptors, which typically glow a baleful red.

- Scylla-series droids are compatible with Myrmidon Combat AI; droids programmed thusly are unusually vicious and behave almost shark-like.
- Aquatic Predator: Scyllas are startlingly agile in the water, allowing them to swim circles around humanoids in diving gear with ease. Their weapons systems and aggressive combat protocols make them well-suited for hit-and-run tactics, flanking attacks, and pursuits.
- Electronic Systems: Above-average resistance notwithstanding, even low-yield EMP/Ion weapons are able to weaken Scyllas.
- Aquatic Specialist: Scyllas are decently mobile on land, but they won't win any awards; they are best used in the water.
