- + Historian: Xos'Nulo has spent the better part of seven centuries conducting research and diving into the lore of numerous Force-wielding sects; namely the Jedi and Sith. Due to his previous affiliation with the Jedi Order, he was given the unique opportunity to study to his heart's content within the archives, and as such possesses a plethora of knowledge on a great deal of historical subjects. To say the least, he has forgotten more than most will learn in their lifetime.
- + Looks Can Be Deceiving: At a glance, Xos'Nulo is an old man just hairs away from turning to dust. However, his Anzati heritage has given him a physical condition that surpasses that expected by one of his age. While he cannot, by any stretch, compete with an adult in his or her prime, he is spry enough to defend himself should the occasion call for it.
- + Sage: While does possess a phenomenal sum of knowledge gleaned from tomes, holocrons, and other historical accounts, Xos'Nulo also has the wisdom required to make avid usage of it. As such, he is a wise individual to approach for council on a number of subjects; and that which he advises is always impartial.
- - Mentor: While many will undoubtedly approach Xos'Nulo with the hopes of learning lost or powerful methods of wielding the Force, they will be turned away disappointed. During his lifetime, his areas of study primarily revolved around the origins of various Force-sects, theories regarding the nature of the Force, philosophies, and general history. In fact, all that he would ever be capable of teaching are techniques that any apprentice worth his or her salt would have already learned.
- - With Knowledge Comes A Price: In exchange for his literal centuries studying the history of the known Galaxy, Xos'Nulo forwent augmenting his skills in both the Force and other areas of study commonly affiliated with a wielder of the Force. While his experience during his youth was great, his present form only has access to skills equivalent to that of an apprentice; no more, no less.
~ Heart of Gold: While rough around the edges and vastly antisocial, Xos'Nulo will gladly stick his neck out for those who manage to forge a relationship with him. He is generally overprotective of those he considers valuable, and is even more so overprotective of those under his charge. As such, simply being a member of the Confederacy or the Templar Order is cause enough for him to go above and beyond the call of duty for some.
~ Hermit: Xos'Nulo tends to gravitate more towards peace and quiet than he does social activities. It is a rare occassion to see him out and about, mingling or engaging in simple chatter. He generally views time as quite a valuable thing indeed and tends to desire to get straight to the point of matters due to his wanting to return to that which he was doing previously.
- Harmony: This was the first lightsaber ever created by Xos'Nulo, wrought by his own hands in the Crystal Caves on Ilum. It houses a Pontite crystal which projects a green blade.
- Shadow: This was the second lightsaber ever constructed by Xos'Nulo and was done so in order to commemorate the creation of the Templar Order. It houses a synthetic crystal which produces a white/silver blade.
- Equilibrium: Xos'Nulo is the proud owner of an A-36 Sleuth, which he has named Equilibrium.
- "The Road to Dawn": At any given time, Xos'Nulo will always have on his person a datapad containing his ongoing autobiography. Within this piece of literature is contained his life story, his personal views on the Force, and a rough recollection of notable pieces of information amassed over the years.
Centuries ago, many long years before the Yuuzan Vong War, Xos'Nulo was but a boy residing on the homeworld of his people. He and his immediate family took up residence within the mountains, far removed from the remainder of the world. They lived off of the local fauna and survived under the leadership of Xos'Nulo's sire. However, while he was grateful for the gift of life, the young Anzat found his home to be nothing more than a prison. As the years rolled by, he found himself desiring a means of escaping his prison in order to venture off into other worlds. This salvation came one fateful day when he ultimately decided to abandon his mountain home and make for the spaceport located on the world. There, he encountered a traveling Jedi Master and his student, Se'Qura.
Having confirmed that the boy had never had a taste of "soup" from a sentient being before, the Jedi Master first confirmed Xos'Nulo's force sensitivity before taking a phenomenal risk: he took the boy under his tutelage and off Anzat. However, being a Shadow by trade and a Master in rank, the man was confident that he could prevent Xos'Nulo from ever falling prey to the same pitfalls as other Anzat who had joined the Order before him; and indeed he did. Over the course of the training that Xos'Nulo undertook, he developed a strong relationship with Se'Qura. He came to see his fellow Padawan as a younger brother and became fiercely loyal and protective of him. He also grew rather skilled in the ways of the Force and incredibly talented with a lightsaber.
By the time of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, both Se'Qura and Xos'Nulo had grown into exceptionally capable Knights. They fought valiantly alongside the forces of the Galaxy against their newfound enemy and worked towards a number of victories on the side of the Republic. However, over the course of the war, their Master and dear friend was slain...though those who committed this heart-wrenching act met a swift end by the blades of the two Knights. When the war had ended, the two had a chance to reflect and fondly remember all the good times they shared under their Master's wing, and ultimately decided to base their futures off of the Path he walked. Se'Qura decided to dedicate himself to the upbringing of Padawan learners and Initiates at the Temple and Praexeum, whereas Xos'Nulo adopted the Shadow occupation and chose to seek out the Dark Side of the Force wherever it hid.
The initial years of his travels were met with many victories in the name of the Light, yet this would ultimate come to a close when he confronted a slowly-forming sect of Dark Side worshippers on Cularin. They were led by a duo who hailed from Palpatine's Empire: one, a former officer, and the other a corrupted Jedi. Before Xos'Nulo began to engage the cultists, they posed a series of questions that would begin a long series of changes within the Anzat's life. First, they brought up the dilemma of Vader's Prophecy coupled with the current state of the Force. Supposedly, Darth Vader was to bring balance to the Force, which, according to the cultists, he did through painstaking measures. He cut down the Light Side of the Force, which monopolized the Galaxy, through exacting Palpatine's Orders and hunting down the Jedi, while augmenting the Dark Side of the Force through the recruitment and creation of new Imperial Force-wielders.
He then, by slaying the Emperor and redeeming himself, brought balance to the Force entirely. The remnants of the Imperial Force-wielders essentially matched the budding numbers of new Jedi, and for a brief span of time, the Force was truly balanced...but then the Light began to monopolize again. Then, the cultists brought up the matter of the sides of the Force, and how unfair it was that one side be preferred by the Galaxy over the other. However, by this time, Xos'Nulo had heard quite enough and proceeded to put down the cult. In the aftermath that followed, he began to ponder upon the questions that the cultists presented, and ultimately began to realize the truth in their words. The Force was horribly unbalanced in its current state, and would only continue to do so if the Light was simply allowed to monopolize the Galaxy.
Over the next several centuries, Xos'Nulo began to obsess over matters of the Force and spent as much time as he possibly could within the Jedi Archives. He studied holocron after holocron, spent weeks and months pondering over the simplest statements uttered by the Gatekeepers...but found the sources of information to be lacking to his estimation. That which was available for his study were mainly Jedi material, and his obsessive reputation had caused the Council to exercise caution when permitting him to access information gleaned from the Dark Side. As such, he continued his Shadow occupation, scouring the Galaxy for links to the past, both Dark and Light, and any shreds of physical artifacts linked to them. During this time, he found many leads to the rumored resting places of artifacts or temples, but never had the opportunity to seek them out. He also kept a series of journals regarding his discoveries within the holocrons, and kept them on his person at all times. These journals recorded his thoughts and reactions to that which he learned within each holocron, in addition to theories derived from the information.
During this timeframe, he adopted a theory regarding the nature of the Force as well. Xos'Nulo came to believe that the Force would always attempt to correct its imbalance, as if driven by an unseen instint to repair itself. This was the reason, according to his theory, that despite the Jedi Order's tireless efforts, the Sith had always and will continue to resurface. However, Xos'Nulo did not have time to explore this theory further, nor did he have time to do much more than put it to the back of his mind...for shortly after its conception, the Gulag Plague begun. The entirety of his time and effort was dedicated to the assistance of the Galaxy at large survive the hellish disease, but in the end he could do little more than join the Jedi as they returned to Tython; but not before he aided in temporarily relocating most of the Archives to the force-imbued world.
There, until only a handful of years prior to th present, he studied and meditated on the numerous holocrons and annals of history that he had at his disposal. He instructed some in the ways of the past, he was more than happy to guide or give a lesson or two...but never did he do more than that. Xos'Nulo simply could not bear to do so; for he had systematically lost faith in the Jedi worldview and had adopted one of his own. One that would preached balance on the part of the Force, acceptance of its two halves, and freedom! Once the plague had concluded its ravaging of the Galaxy, Xos'Nulo was among the first to leave Tython; but unlike his fellows, he did not just leave the world. He left the Order entirely. Xos'Nulo spent many years in relative seclusion from that point, preferring to observe the budding Galaxy with his own eyes.
He watched, with great happiness, as the Republic and Empire grew. Though war was atrocious, and he abhorred the senseless slaughter, the Force was indeed more balanced than it ever had been. However, he knew that it was only a matter of time before one side prevailed over the other and had begun to lose hope in change ever naturally coming to the Force...and then entered the Confederacy. A new power that came into being seemingly overnight. Unlike the other new powers in the Galaxy, the Confederacy had the potential, in the eyes of the aging man, to bring about true Balance. As such, he approached the leadership of the Outer-Rim based government and poured out his heart to them, informed him of his history and all that he had seen in his lifetime, and asked for the opportunity to bring about change in the Galaxy.
This opportunity was granted...and so did the Templar Order begin its formation.
