Production: Limited
- Material: Durasteel, Various Mechanical Components
- The XR-01 Rotary Mount exists solely to allow the XR-01 cannon to be effectively mounted on larger ships, such as Battle Cruisers and Dreadnoughts, without severely reducing the effectiveness as a result of fixed mounting.
- Dual Barrel: The Rotary Mount is designed to handle two cannons on a single mount, effectively turning the XR-01 into a massive dual-barrel turret.
- Sturdy design: the XR-01 is a massive cannon, and the RM is build specifically for this cannon, meaning it is able to account for the bulk with ease.
- Rotary Mount: The RM allows the XR-01 to rotate along the left-right and up-down axis, allowing for an extremely expanded firing arc
- Not meant to rotate: The XR-01 cannons were not meant to be rotated, and have severe kickback issues. While using this mount, effective rate of fire is lowered.
- Knockback: The XR-01 cannons have impressive recoil, which knock the guns out of alignment after each shot, requiring the target be reacquired after each shot. This setback increases effective rate of fire exponentially the further away the target gets.
- Big Chungus: The Rotary Mount is not feasible on any ship shorter than 5,000 meters.
After having field tested the XR-01 cannons on a few minor occasions, Voph decided he desired the functionality of the cannons on larger vessels such as battlecruisers. Fixed mount weapons rarely worked well on vessels such as these, so Voph commissioned mounts capable of rotating the oversized cannons, allowing them to adjust firing arcs like regular turbolaser cannons, but of course with a number of drawbacks. While the Archwing Destroyers were able to brace the cannons and allow for a relatively fast rate of fire, the mounts do not sufficiently brace the cannons, and must reacquire targets after every shot, increasing the time between effective shots. This downside is amplified by both the distance to target, and the number of barrels fired simultaneously.
