+Technical Genius - Quite literally a genius in the realm of Technology.
~ Deilokin Racials - Intelligence, Perception A Plus, Frail Body and similar a Minus
- Broken Ace - Varies in emotional state from clinical detachment and melancholy to mania and impulsive actions
- Human(oid) Perception - Social Skills, or a lack thereof. Yaemi never quite 'Got it' when it came to interacting with others, expecting them to behave much like the machines she devoted her life to. As such, she'd incredibly bad at reading intention or motivation and is easy to manipulate.
- Addiction - Initially an addiction to prescription substance to balance her mental state, this had spread and developed into an addiction to a variety of narcotic substances.
PERSONALITY:
If you had to put her on an alignment chart, Yaemi is Chaotic Neutral with an emphasis on chaotic. As a person, she's undeniably a complete mess, but a complete mess with good intentions that happen to be fueled by the same narcotics that are slowly killing her. If you somehow manage to bypass all her flaws, she'll be a loyal friend that will do anything to aid you. The thing you'd have to bypass is the fact that she's a hopeless addict with poor self control and innumerable vices. Even her positives often become negatives; her morals make her a zealot, her self-sacrificial heroism borders on a martyrdom complex, and her attempts to be friendly often run up against the brick wall of her own dysfunctions.
Yaemi does have some spots of normality in her life. She'll occasionally even try and get some normal work and real relationships going in her life, but that rarely leads to anything good or long-term. Most of her existence is an absolutely miserable one that no one would put up with, but a mixture of hard drugs and a desire to do good before she utterly snaps is enough to keep her going to pull herself out of the gutter every morning to do her best over and over again, no matter how many times things go sour for her.
She's ultimately a tragic person that deserved a better life, but fate ended up dealing her a rotten hand in the end. Always trying to be friendly, loving and good in complete denial about the impossibility of the matter. The reality of the situation though is so off kilter, why not try and smile and save others from suffering the same fate you did, right? That's at least what she tells herself until the need another fix becomes too pressing.
APPEARANCE:
Yaemi is above average in height, for a Deilokin at least. Growing up in a wealthy family, she had a healthy diet though one balanced with a rather sedentary lifestyle, which lead to her developing an overall slim build, though with pronounced hips and thighs. Though her looks are largely hidden by the enviro suit she wears, one can clearly make out the bright eyes glowing from beneath the visor, though other details are largely obscured by a sort of obscuring fog. If she were to be found out of her suit, one would first notice the shock of metallic silver hair on her hear. Her hair if of surprising length as well, falling down to about her shoulders. Next one would pick up on the pale purple of her skin, kept so from a lifetime spend indoors and in enviromental suits.
BIOGRAPHY:
Yaemi had always had a fascination with technology, even more so than her already deeply academic people. This caused her to largely isolated herself, preferring the company of machines to those of mortals.
This began shortly after the loss of her mother, during an incident in a robotics development facility. She'd been just old enough to feel the pain of the loss, but lacked the maturity to know how to deal with it properly. Her father, a busy and high ranking member of the Deilosian Navy was often too busy with work to realize the impact the loss of her mother had on Yaemi. Though she excelled in school, she lagged behind utterly in her social skills. Whatever time she didn't spend in school she instead spent cooped up in her room, fiddling with scraps of machinery. Her reasoning behind this was simple, she thought she could simply build a Droid to replace her mother. As she grew up though, she soon came to realize just what a flight of fancy that was.
As she graduated her primary education, she was accepted into the Deilosian Academy of Theoretical Engineering at the age of only 12, two years below the average age of applicants. There, she developed her fascination with artificial intelligence, and though she was loath to admit it, a tiny part of her hope too had returned. She threw herself with renewed vigor into her studies, developing new custom codes and programming inputs to bring an artificial mind to life. While artificial intelligence was her passion, she was gifted at a wide variety of engineering and sciences. Though she was urged by councilors to engage more in social life on campus, she remained largely secluded with her work throughout most of it. Eventually, came the time for her graduation, four years later.
For the next two years, she drifted somewhat, beginning various apprenticeships do to her high grades but failing to hold down work for longer than a few weeks. Inevitably, her conditions would come to the forefront and cause her to loose employment. She subsisted on a variety of freelance work, salvage and repair, coding custom VI and AI programs and similar. All work that saw her largely on her own, and spiraling further into her own head.
What was initially a state of extended and untreated grief, had evolved into something of a manic-depressive personality. Swaying between stays of utter melancholy and emotional detachment, to more manic periods of passion and emotion, she had little ability to control her emotional state. She was quickly medicated though far from stable. Her talents though were undeniable, making her a risky though potentially quite profitable asset. Despite this, she's attempted to be friendly, though maintains a very poor track record at holding up any friendships.
Eventually, a Confederacy 'Talent Scout' was either lucky or desperate enough to find her. She was recruited with little fanfare, given funding and a broad mandate in the Research and Development section of the Navy. She wants to make the world a better place, to eliminate the risk of suffering she herself had to go through. Despite her work, she despises narcotics, wars and death, despite these being the explicit things she excels in creating. Coupled with her psychopathy this has put her into a position of almost self-hate, as she constantly tries to make up for the damage she causes.
