- Bio-Organic: The Yorik retains most of the bio-organic properties of the original coralskipper, having some intuitive sense of self-preservation to include instinctive actions to avoid attacks and the ability to feed on asteroids and other similar materials to heal itself and re-equip its Yaret-Kor ammunition bays.
- Singular Shield: The Yorik's dovin basal can only protect a single point of the craft at a time, making it vulnerable to converging attacks from multiple angles of fire.
Because of the Bryn'adul's tendency to deploy weapons and technology designed to shut down traditional technology, Lucerne Labs began to investigate bio-organic options for a new starfighter that could also act as an atmospheric strike craft. While the company continued its decades old attempt to replicate traditional Sekotan ships, it was found to be easier to graft the organic elements of the traditional Vong coralskipper to a traditional starfighter hull containing some traditional systems in it. The resulting hybrid craft works on the basic operating principles of a coralskipper in terms of propulsion, senses, defenses, and elements of its armament, but has an internal pilot interface of a more traditional starfighter along with some more traditional weaponry, making it significantly easier to career pilots to transfer over to. The StarSkipper as it more commonly is known is fairly fast craft with highly responsive controls that many pilots insist is a joy to fly despite its unorthodox appearance and flight systems, though it is also a somewhat fragile craft. StarSkipper pilots usually take advantage of its high speed to make quick passes through enemy formations while blazing away with the ship's many guns to achieve most of their kills while scattering into disparate directions to divide up their pursuers if attacked. While the StarSkipper has some inherent advantages from being organically based, this has also made it difficult for logistical purposes in some instances - a Yorik can't simply be stored away for long periods of time - it needs to feed like any organic creature and like other creatures, will eventually die of old age. This means that once the Bryn'adul threat is over, the Yorik Starskimmers may well be mothballed or decommissioned in favor of more traditional designs.
