You Don't Get Out Much, Do You? (Mit Tuxaire)

It was a rare day for Coruscant. How, you may ask? Maybe because today, The Cartographer was taking a short break from his meetings to relax in the city. He wasn't always interested in parties or his work. Sometimes, he just needed to be a normal, anonymous citizen looking for a bite to eat on a warm day.
He casually walked along the metal sidewalk of upper Coruscant, looking for a good restaurant or diner to have lunch in. Finding one he entered and took a seat at a table meant for two. While he was ordering, someone walking in caught his eye.

Mit walked up to a relatively expensive looking diner. With him he carried everything he needed on his long trips. It had been months now since he was last visiting Corusaunt, and he needed something to eat that actually tasted good. The diner wasn't extremely large, nor small. But it looked like the sort of place you would find yourself feeling comfortable in. Mit pushed open the large doors and walked into the diner.

The Cartographer eyed the man as he made his way across the room. He pulled a waitress aside.
"Whatever that young man over there orders, give me the bill. I'll pay for his food today. Oh, and get him a Corellian Prospector on the rocks. I'll cover that as well."
He slipped the woman a hefty tip and a wry grin. She was more than happy to comply. Within a few minutes, she brought out the bottle in ice with a glass to pour it in and sat it next to the man. "Compliments from a fellow customer," She told him before going to get his food.

Mit tried to halt the waitress as she left, but was too slow to stop her.
"Now who the bloody hell would order me a drink? I don't know these people..."
He muttered with a slight shake of his head. He stirred the drink for a moment, and took a sip. It wasn't amazing, but it certainly wasn't bad. Mit dropped his heavy luggage and sat back in his chair; This was going to get confusing...

The Cartographer watched the man curiously as he sat down and began stirring the drink. He didn't seem like one who enjoyed company. That made him all the more intriguing. His eyes didn't leave the man's face, not even when his food was placed before him.

With a gentle 'Thank you.' Mit began to slowly eat what had been placed in front of him, he really didn't care what it was, If it was made recently, he'd eat it. He shrugged, fiddled with the many straps and buckles on his luggage bags, dropped a few credits next to his plate, and started to get up.

"There's no need to leave your money," The Cartographer said to him from a few tables away. "I've covered both your meal and your drink." He gave the man a small smile. The way to approach anyone who doesn't particularly enjoy talking to others is to be vague with what you say. That way you pique their interest, and they'll start to ask questions.

"I-Er- Thank you..." Mit said with a small smile. "Why would you pay for my food?" He asked, stepping towards the man, turning back towards the door. Then final grabbing his bags and walked over to the man. "What reason do you have to buy me anything?"
[member="The Cartographer"]

The Cartographer smirked, amused. "When I see something that I like, I tend to take care of it. Even if it means doing something as little as paying for a meal." His deep brown eyes twinkled a bit, giving him a mischievous demeanor. He wasn't ashamed or embarrassed of what he'd just said. He'd lived for 83 years. He had nothing to lose by simply speaking his mind.

Mit shrugged and set his stuff down across from the man. "The name's Mit; Traveler, and Mad Hatter" He said with a slight chuckle. "Or thats what some call me. Who are you?" He asked with a questioning frown.
[member="The Cartographer"]

The Cartographer grinned. "Call me Bael. A traveler, hm? And a Mad Hatter? That's an interesting title. How did you come by it?" Nicknames were always fascinating to learn the origins of.

Mit shrugged and let out a small laugh. "To be brutally honest, I don't quite remember when I was called that, but it has something to do with my- Fashion sense, I suppose. What about you? Any nicknames?"
[member="The Cartographer"]

"One. I didn't really pick it out, though. It started at work, so I just go with it." For some reason, Bael didn't want this Mit to know who he was just yet. So many times before when he revealed his social status to others, they would immediately start freaking out or fainting or something else just as ridiculous. He wanted to get to know this man before that happened. "So, what exotic places do you travel to? Or do you like to go to more tourist-y places?"

"Hah, If I ever went to a tourist location, I'd go bloody insane. I visit anywhere most people don't- Jungles, Tundras, Magma. Anywhere that gets me away from people and into a new place." Mit said, his eyes shone as he thought of his adventures. And he couldn't keep a slight smile from spreading to his face.

It was adorable the way Mit looked when he talked of traveling. Bael couldn't help but smile with him. "That does sound fascinating. I wish that I had more time to go to places out of the public eye. But, in my line of work, finding that kind of time is near impossible."

Mit looked at Bael- intrigued. "What line of work would that be?" He asked, his head was cocked to one side, as it usually was when he was curious about something. "What horrible job could you ever have that could stop you from exploring?" He said with a joking grin.
[member="The Cartographer"]

Bael looked down at the table, smiling calmly. "I'm a bio-scientist. I study and experiment with the anatomy of living organisms. It's nothing dangerous, mind you. I make it my personal business to ensure that all or my specimens are gently handled and kept in comfort through the duration of the experimentation. If they ever feel that what I'm doing isn't for them, I pay them a nice amount of credits and let them walk away. I believe in being humane when it comes to scientific advancements. Anyway, I can't really go anywhere without people because my work constantly involves people."

"A bio-scientist hm? I've always wondered what it would be like; Working day and night, overseeing operations and scans... It must be exiting." Mit said, he was warming up to this Bael, and his speech got clearer and more confident as he grew more comfortable near Bael. "How can you stand it? Constantly having people, constantly having to make sure everything stays pristine?" Mit asked as he opened one of his bags, pulled out a navy blue tricorn hat, and put it on. He did this without even noticing he was doing it. "It must wear on your patience?"
[member="The Cartographer"]

Bael watched with fascination as Mit put on a hat out-of-the-blue. How unexpected. It made him that much more handsome. "I have a method to combat the stress that comes from my never-ending schedule. I host multitudes of parties every month. I figure that if I'm stressed, there are bound to be others out there who are as well. So, I invite said people to my home and give them a chance to relax and let loose right alongside me. I also take the occasional afternoon break. Like I am right now, with you."

Mit smiled at the thought of a party; Not that he liked people, but parties had infinite possibilities. "So, where do you come from? Is there any backstory behind that partying scientist?" He said, after a moment's pause he signaled for a waiter. "Would you mind fetching us some drinks?" He asked, gesturing to Bael.
