You know, we never did build that snowman. (Spencer)

Being a CEO wasn't all business and numbers, as much as Aldiel might wish it were. A good portion of it was networking, gaining contacts, and fitting in with the good ol' boys who the head of one of the larger corporations in the Galaxy would be expected to move and shake with. These were people of influence and observation, and were typically very wary of 'new money'. Especially when that new money appeared to drop off the face of the universe for weeks at a time, hardly ever spent money and apparently had no vices or social life to speak of. Aldiel had been taking time to establish more than just a name for himself, and part of that was making friends and allies. An easy way to do that?

Inviting powerful women out to dinner. Her could be charming, friendly, and then move on with his life having established that Aldiel D'lessio was a normal guy who did normal guy things. The tabloids ate it up, but they ate up silence even more so.

In any case, even he'd heard what had happened to Ashin Varanin, Aldiel figured that he at least owed it to Spencer to see how she was doing and maybe give her something to do. After his recent date with Danger Arceneau, Aldiel's reputation for hanging out with powerful women might discourage some of the less savory rumors, too.

He'd invited Spenser to spend some time with him at a fairly exclusive resort on Kothlis, a planet of hundreds of perfect beaches, using a variety of friend-of-A-friend contacts to avoid the inherent creep factor of just sending a random holomail. And it was on Kothlis that Aldiel waited.

If Spencer had taken his invitation, a shuttle had been offered to bring her to the resort's private starport, which was somewhat near the picturesque restaurant he was sitting in - enjoying the afternoon breeze, overlooking the ocean, sipping on some sort of light, tropical drink. Even if Spenser didn't take the invitation, Aldiel decided that this was a pretty wonderful way to spend the weekend.

“You have to go your highness” A woman stood beside a pile of blankets holding a summer dress along with luggage packed. The pile of blankets stirred a bit and a blonde head of mess popped out with the most disgusted look on her face. Spencer didn’t want to do anything of the sort that sounded like a date. She remained in the housing of her blanket fort and looked at her hand maiden. “No! I don’t want to!” She dove back under the blankets and the woman sighed softly. Taking care of a grieving Spencer wasn’t’ something she had signed up to do, this was like dealing with a child – a child that could turn the Force on you with deadly control.

Remembering this, she sighed softly and rubbed her temples together tightly. After giving her life much thought, the woman grabbed the edge of the blanket mountain and ripped it off. Everything that was underneath went flying, spoons, empty plates of cake, along with stuffed animals and tissue boxes. “Ma’am you _need_ to get out of bed and into a bath or something.” Spencer sat there and shook her head. The woman sighed and decided to bring out the big guns. Two large versions of Echani Royal guard grabbed the Queen and threw her over their shoulders. Spencer beat them on their backs as they dragged her into the bathroom to bathe and get ready for the date.

The shuttle picked her up and finally she was being escorted through the private starliner to the restaurant where her date a wealthy gentleman waited for her. The Vagrant Queen of Eshan was in no mood, until she walked in and something familiar hit her. Sighing softly, the hard frown she was wearing faded and she smiled softly. “It’s you.”

If Aldiel had any idea about what'd turned Spencer's frown into a smile, he gave no inclination. In fact, he very much didn't. So far as he knew, she was simply glad to see him, which was a relief, since the general impression that Aldiel got from her was that she hadn't been glad to see anyone in quite some time. As she approached, he stood with one arm behind his back and offered a warm smile of his own, taking his hat off in a show of deference. "Missus Varanin, I'm flattered that you've even considered my invitation." He promised honestly. Heck, he had simply wanted to get her here with as little suspicion as possible, and it seemed that it'd worked, so... score? Or at least mission accomplished. "Thank you for coming. You look ravishing - this day is being put to shame by that smile of yours."

You look like you're mourning. Aldiel knew well the slight differences when someone else put your makeup on for you.

Striving to be the most gentlemanly gentleman possible, Aldiel offered his date a seat by the balcony, even trying to push her chair in with her on it once she was seated. Gentleman. The hardest part was trying hard not to look like you're trying so hard, but most of what Aldiel did was trying very hard pretty much all the time. "Would you like anything to drink?" Aldiel asked, mirroring Spencer's warm smile as best he was able - which was a pretty decent simulacrum, all things considered.

An empath might be getting showered with concern, relief, worry, and love from apparently nowhere. Aldiel was just trying to be courteous and not push her personal boundaries too far.

A comfort was met as Spencer took her seat. The desire to run away and lock herself in a room for years didn’t fully go away, but it subsided for the time being. “A glass of red wine would be just fine, whatever you have to offer will do.” The woman wanted Corellian Whiskey, but she assumed the bottles she had consumed over the past few weeks meant that she met her lifetime quota of whiskey. There was no need for it and she would enjoy the alcohol not as an emotional suppressant, but something to enjoy with her meal. “I originally didn’t want to come, but I knew it would be good for me to leave my room.”

The wine arrived and she took a sip. It was a nice floral merlot, something that she secretly loved anyways. She sipped the wine once more and spoke again. “I’m sure you know just like everyone else…word seems to travel quite quickly in this galaxy. It still feels so unbelievable…” Finger tips played with the ends of her glass as she found herself staring at the red liquid intently as if trying to find some sort of comfort with in it. It took her a minute and her trance was broken. A smile crossed her face as she looked towards the man in front of her. “Anything new Mr. D’Lessio?” She was doing her best, keeping as much cheer on display as she could. On the inside she was dying, the feeling constantly growing stronger the more she tried to keep it down. Her hand felt empty as it constantly searched for the warmth of her wife's, but she was alone.

At least there was a comfort here, someone she trusted even if with a disguise. [member="Aldiel D'Lessio"]
