You say 'stolen'. I say 'Acquired'. (Pirate scum welcome)

Zandra Fenni stood at the helm of her ugly, rust bucket ship ironically named Zax The Beautiful. Back in the good 'ol days, Zandra had travelled the Galaxy with her faithful crew, taking what they wanted, giving only what they needed to. She'd gotten a decent bit o' credits from those adventures. Enough to keep Clan Tal'verda goin' for a while. Enough to keep her kids housed and fed for years, maybe even decades. But she wasn't a woman that could sit by and watch the years pass. With her husband gone and nowhere to be found, she could not sit still any more. Zandra was just that kinda woman. She couldn't wait. She had to be doing something or she'd go crazy.

That was where we find our villain, the evil Pirate Queen, Zandra Tal'verda. Standing at the helm of- Oh, we already covered this, didn't we? Well, in any case, she had her eyes set on the target, a tiny smirk tugging on her lips. This could either be a brilliant scheme, or it could get them all killed. Either way, she was ready, willing, and prepared to die for it. Jedi were valuable in this Galaxy. Crazy Space Wizards. With their crazy space magic. They were always hard to kill, and even harder to capture alive.
Thankfully, Zandra had an ace in the hole. A boy. Her own boy. She'd been watching him for years, studying. Her own personal Space Wizard. She had some idea how they functioned. That was more than most. And she had a sufficient armory, courtesy of years plundering vessels from here to Coruscant. They'd be fine, as long as they managed to take the Jedi alive.

"A'right, folks, we got our eyes on the prize. Everybody ready? Let's bag ourselves a Jedi."

It could be said that Jynnan Tonnyx was a bit of a show-off. Mostly because he was far more than a bit of a show-off. As a kid, he'd been theatrical enough of a fighter to get the underbelly of Coruscant to fight the Black Suns out of their homes. That took a hell of a lot of theatrics.

Jyn's current bit of theatrics mostly involved him jet-jumping between the ships in front of him. Occasionally, he used the magnets in his feet to land solidly on one, making some smaller freighters shake slightly under the weight. Eventually, he found an interesting-looking one - It looked like it had rusted away and then the rust had been used to rebuild it. He made the last short hop onto the back of the freighter, and grinned under his helmet before also engaging to magnets in his fingers and crouching like some kind of hunting cat on the dorsal turret of the ship.

He chuckled, and then muttered, "Giddyap, my valiant steed!"

A weak cheer went up in the cockpit from the three other people hanging around her. Zandra grinned. Her little baby could be flown by only one person if she wanted, but now she had a small crew of three. It just looked more intimidating that way, really. Oh well. The rest heard her message anyway. They knew the game was on.

She lit up a cigara and left to suit up. Of course, by suit up, she meant grab so much steel she could sink a ship. blowing out a steady stream of smoke from her nostrils, she strapped two throwing knives to her thighs, stuck a tiny blade into her left boot, On the inside of her husbands oversized trenchcoat she had a small blaster pistol hidden away 'for emergencies'. She really hated using blasters. No style, no dramatic flare. It was too easy, too simple.

She snatched a pair of leather fingerless gloves off the top of her messy bed and put those on next. Her fists were really her best weapon, especially if she'd be going toe to toe with a Jedi. Blasters never worked on those freaks. They could always just... know. But they'd never see this coming, not even with their crazy space magic. Who would ever imagine a pirate facing off head to head with a Jedi? The biggest issue was the stupid laser sword. Her Cortosis coated vibroblade should help out there (if it was worth the amount she'd paid for it) but who even knew if you could trust anything you found on the black market anymore. Really, things had changed since she was a wee lil pirate trying to steal the next meal.

Alexander yawned as he sat back in one of the commercial rooms of the ship. It held 2 people normally but lucky for him the other bed was not occupied. His hand pushed through his hair and he smiled to himself while he sat there at the fact that today was going to be a very good day. Or not, he had this sinking feeling something was about to happen that he would not enjoy but little did Zandra understand the kind of man that Alexander was.

He wasn't old, his looks marking him at around 18-20. His eyes matched the Silver of his hair and his smile was slight but not too wide. He wore normal clothing, for him atleast that was black in color and he hid his saber inside that clothing. Other than that he had a hold-out blaster for visible self-defense, though he much rather would rely on his hands to get through anyone that needed to be dealt with.

So what about today could be all that bad.

Jyn relaxed slightly as he realized that he hadn't been detected. This old rustbucket he was crouched on top of was certainly a mover. Wherever it was going, he would have a nice ride, and possibly even get something out of it. Most people flying around in armed freighters usually had jobs of the more adventurous variety.

The armored warrior had a feeling that he would not be disappointed.

As long as history had known, there had been pirates. Plunderers of the caravans--then fleets and convoys--these societal rejects had haunted the highways of all physical tiers of the universe for whatever was considered valuable for the simple fact that it existed and could be transported.

As long as there was precious material, there would be pirates. And as long as there was selfish, insipid desire in people of all kinds for this material, there would be pirates.

Conclusion: As long as there were people, there would be pirates. Mia Marina Maslova was a bit of a cantankerous opportunist--and very much a person. The artist was by no means going to take orders on her life. She was going to paint the picture she wanted, and she had no qualms about using others as the dyes to be applied to her canvas.

Flipping a pair of playing cards about her fingers, the palefaced pirate contemplated their tactics upon encountering the doomed vessel. She had no idea a Jedi was aboard. It would simply be fresh meat to her crew. And so Mia Maslova and her five crewmen stood silent with anticipation in the cockpit segment of Singsong, the stolen YU-410 under her command. Fresh meat.

"Cap'n"
Zandra looked up from the vibroblade she was busy sharpening.

"Eh? Cor've, what's up?" she asked into her wrist comm, "Need ta use the can again?"
"'Nother ship up ahead. Looks like the competition's fierce for this prize."

Zandra cursed, shoved her blade into the scabbard at her hip and snatched a crushed pack of cigaras and a lighter off her bed and ran straight to the cockpit.

"Damn. How ya think word got out that this was our mark?" she asked between gritted teeth as she snatched a cigara out of her pack with her teeth. "I really hate these wanna-be's, thinkin' they can get in well with the underworld if they snatch my game from me. What a pain in the arse..."

She lit up, leaning heavily against her Zabrak pilots shoulder.

"Well, Cap'n? What's the plan?" he asked, giving her a sharp grin, "We gunna shoot it down?"

Zandra ran a hand through her tangled white hair, returning the grin with the smouldering cigara still stuck between her teeth.

"Nah. Send 'em a wave. Tell whoever it is that they have three options. They can either join up, or stay out of our way. The third option is one I guarantee they won't wanna take. Offer a percentage as incentive."

"Got it, Boss," the chiss male at the other end of the cockpit said, moving to send the message loud and clear to the competitor.

"Corv, move 'er in. Ya'll know the plan."

Alexander listened to the alarms sound and he blinked as his head stuck out of the room he had gotten his hands on. Naval security running all over the ship as he shrugged. HE was just a simple passenger today and it would take more than some little pirate to take down a vessel such as this. It did make him curious though who it was that thought they would be able to board the ship. Granted Alexander himself didn't realize that in the end zandra and Mia would both get onto the ship, and worse yet he still didn't realize they were after him though his being the Jedi they were after was kept on the hush hush so it would be a bit of a pain for ever this woman was in finding out who the Jedi was.

"We've been hailed, Cap," a crewman reported, noting the red light that had abruptly begun to flash by the comms system.

"Did you get us spotted already?" Mia grumbled, slapping the receiver button to open up the line. "What's the point of this pirating thing with you draggin' your fat rump around and telling me the obvious, anyway?" The artist was in her pirate shoes today, and those shoes were not exactly filled with patience.

Fortunately--or perhaps unfortunately--they had not been spotted by their prey, but by another dog of a ship marked as Zax the Beautiful. Beautiful? Really? Beauty was certainly in the eye of the beholder if the captain of that ship was serious.

And the captain of that ships seemed to be dead serious about things if they were going to be giving this three-option deal. Mia had half a mind to blow it off completely, though something about the state of that wreck of a vessel made for a threatening impression. It had made it out here. It could probably kick through more than just a little scrape. "Zax the... Beautiful, this is Captain Maslova of Singsong. I hear your bargain, and I want to know just what makes you think you own this here prize already. I may be a whore, but that doesn't mean I give karks daily."

"Cap'n?"

Cold blue eyes focused on the Chiss at the comm. What now? What else? They were movin' in fast. She didn't have time to be playing. She was about to say 'Kark it, blow it up instead,' but something stopped her. The Chiss unplugged his headphones and the voice that now came out of the speakers was one that she found familiar, although she had never heard it in her life.

"Lady Luck, yer a real Beauty, aren't yeh?" she mumbled before turning her attention to the mic. "Singsong, this is Cap'n Tal'verda of ZTB. Rex 'ere tells me ya wanna know why we got dibs on this prize up ahead. Thought it was jus' good manners ta fill ya in meself."

Zandra's eyes focused ahead at the ship up against the black. She snatched the open flask sitting on the dashboard and took a deep sip. Fire burned all the way down her stomach and she loved it.

"See, that there ain' no ordinary treasure. What we got on that ship up ahead is somethin' rare and priceless... and terribly, terribly deadly. Go in there without knowin' what yer up against? Yer gunna be dead in minutes. I'm just assumin', but you seem like you got no clue what they got on board there, do yeh?"

Captain Tal'Verda was not exactly what Mia had expected, but there was no mistaking the experience in her drawl. To be honest, Maslova was the less likely of the two to be taken seriously as a pirate, what with her hard Imperial accent still not completely eradicated. She could change voices on the flip of a dime, but one did not aim to be that immersed in characterization all the time if they were sane.

Still, it was hard for the entertainer-turned-raider to resist mimicking the other woman's dialect. "I don't think I took up this here occupation because I assumed it was safe, Captain," she replied waving a hand nonchalantly to emphasize her feigned disregard for Tal'Verda's advice. But there was a very high probability that the other captain was telling the truth. Why else would she even think of offering a share in the spoils? Unless she was outgunned. Mia was no timid being, but the more she looked at the holographic presentation of her 'rival', the more she was convinced a straight-out battle with the Zax would not end well for Singsong's crew. "That being said, I think I can agree to splitting a profit here--provided I have the details about this 'terribly deadly' thing we are to encounter."

She flourished her hand once more, fingers slightly waggling like deadly things were hardly worth worrying over. There could still be a way to swing this in her party's favor--with a little bit of careful wording and perhaps some monetary flirtation.

"Ah, 'atta girl! Smart. Aright, I think I can letcha in on the secret, eh?"

She took another long swig from the bottle.

"What we got there is no ordinary transport. Inside is a genuine space wizard. Yeah, a Jedi. No joke," The pirate grinned leaning heavily on the dash board. "Now, ya may be askin' yerself, 'Hey, if this uppity pirate knows there's a jedi on board, what she gunna do about it?' And that's a perfectly fine question. The thing 'bout Jedi is that they don' think nobody can stand up ta them, 'cept another space wizard. They forget that weapons exist now that can easily match their laser swords. Also helps ta know a lil bit 'bout them first hand, yeah? Let's jus' say... I gots my ways."

And now Mia was glad she had taken the other captain into consideration. A Jedi? This would indeed be a unique encounter to her.

She rocked her head back and forth as if she was weighing the options; determining if this attack might be worth the trouble. "What are you going to do with a Jedi once you capture him?" That was a sensible question, was it not? "Are you going to sell him off to the Sith? It's not like nabbing a Jedi isn't going to catch some attention."

She placed her hands on her hips and nodded. "I'll help you out. But I hope you have a good contingency plan. I doubt my crew wants to get too involved in this war thing."

"Trust me, girly, I got's a buyer already."

They just don't know it yet.

Zandra gave her pilot a nod and it was full speed ahead. They were coming for that Jedi, one way or another.

'Girly' was a term she barely even considered these days. Though it most often crossed her ears when she was assisting someone in the act of drenching their bed in sweat. To hear it in more-or-less normal circumstances caught her off-guard, however. In fact, Mia spaced out for a moment after the call had ended before re-assuming command if her pirate freighter.

"I suppose there's no point in second-guessing ourselves. So let's move on in--but keep a fair distance between ourselves and that rustbucket. She's a little too prepared for my taste." The prostitute captain adjusted one of the sharpened chopstick stays in her hair and directed her pilot to tail the Zax.

Soon they would be meeting their first Jedi.

(( I so did not forget to check this char... what you two talking about))

Alexander sighed and sat up before siting back down and kicking his feet up. He knew they were being boarded but it was his day off and he had better things to do than worry about some pirate trying to get their cargo. Hell there were many important things like trying to think about what it was that he wanted for dinner as he lay on the cot in the room he had rented for the trip. He was thinking a nice bantha steak, maybe some sauce on teh side, something to help it go down. He rubbed his chin as he thought about it before nodding. "Definitely that, once the pests are dealt with."
