Control Jets: When his former wife Nina had these installed, she went overboard to the point that a simple turn on the stick means the entire ship would spin in place. It allows itself to be extremely maneuverable. (x)
Large Armory: A section of the YT-1210 had been converted to a personal armory that ranges from simple blasters and lightsabers, all the way up to explosives and combat droids. If a weapon is required, it probably is in there.
Hidden Compartments: Nina added a few in to hide more illegal cargo though over the years, it has been filled with hidden weaponry and supplies.
Medical Room: Due to Jegys profession, one of the cargo areas were converted into a small medical room with two operating tables in case of emergencies and is regularly stocked with supplies.
Memorial Room: Locked near the back of the ship is a Memorial Room that consists of five altars, each one signifying a loved one lost except for one that occupies two.
Whisper Thrust Engine: This engine was modified to go at higher speeds yet still retains its low sensor trace when going at slow speeds. This has been maintained rather well over eight hundred years. (x)
Strengths:
- Sudden Turns: The size of the craft when turning is near impossible to predict, it can turn so quickly that it baffles most enemies as it can turn nearly a one eighty without having to move to the sides if at all.
- Silent Engine Running: At Low to Average speeds, the Amaterasu can be nearly undetected on sensors due to the Whisper Thrust Engine.
- Cramped Living Quarters: Due to the modification by his former wife, the height in the bedroom areas are abysmal at nearly four and a half feet tall. In addition, certain areas are even shorter which requires a bit of maneuvering around unless you were born short.
- Rigorous Jet Cleanings: Each Maneuvering Jet upon landing requires to be cleaned out from atmospheric flights. This can be time consuming and requires good maintenance else it loses its maneuverability edge.
- One Puny Cannon: Its offensive capabilities are laughable, not recommended for a fight beyond one on one.
- Stunted Cargo Bay: Due to Jegys modifications later on, the cargo area is now almost a quarter of its original size, making runs with it almost unsuitable.
The YT-1210 Amaterasu was a love project from one Nina Baxa around 3 BY, having bought it new and began modifying it over the course of three years. Control Jets were the first thing added, having them added on the tops, bottoms and sides all around the corellian model with the intention of being able to outmaneuver nearly every ship in the galaxy. However, this drained nearly all her credits as she took jobs while gutting parts of the ship for Hidden Compartments, wishing to increase her revenue by a large margin. During this time, she had ran into for the first time Jegy Sesara, her future husband. With the promise of many credits, the two would partake on a very long adventure that resulted in not only credits and death, but happiness and love.
Jegy Sesara would at the time, authorize her through his connections in the government to allow her to have a Whisper Thrust Engine, allowing her to modify it to whatever she specified as he became smitten to her though the next part was a huge shock, having seemed to impregnated her through their relationship. They quickly married after a few problems and gave birth to their son, Crane Baxa. During this time, he kept close to her on the Amaterasu, installing a Medical Room for when her water would break at any moment and having the ability to expand a bit more of their business.
Upon the birth of Crane Baxa, the ship was placed into storage for over a year until tragedy struck. Grief struck from the loss of his wife and son, Jegy would let it remain in storage for over a year till he decided to pull it out for personal use. Over the next month, he would install a rather large Memorial Room that consisted of a quarter of the cargo bay, wishing to honor the memory of now two dead loved ones. This would expand over the years as to those he had lost in love, now numbering five as it was common ritual to not leave the room for hours at a time to grieve.
Aside from that, a Large Armory was placed upon the ship on another quarter of the cargo bay. This section was to hold all his weaponry he had collected over the years, his workshop, all the relics he finds and the droids he started to work on to help around the ship which still remains a very low number. After over eight hundred years, several pieces of technology has been lost and the recovery phase for rebuilding the Large Armory had to begin again, the lengths of weaponry now low.
The YT-1210 Amaterasu has no illegal modifications now as of this point, engines worse than what it has now been made and with advanced technology, it could be found much easier than before. While Jegy still has the ship in his possession, he tries not to fly it to often as it reminds him to much of the family he now had lost.
