Yu was nothing more than an orphaned urchin in the streets of Pieralos. She didn't even have a name, everyone simply called her Puck. But she was quick, clever and motivated to not only survive, but to get out. She did the best she could to educate herself. She survived by conning and charming others, and if that didn't work, she pickpocketed, stole and blackmailed. By the time she was an adult, Puck executed a long-planned scheme to live a better life. She managed to create a new identity for herself by observing the rich and famous, sneaking into events to learn the ways of the elite. The resourceful young impoverished woman bartered or stole to acquire a wardrobe of expensive clothing and accessories. She transformed herself into Yu Karloo, Socialite.
Yu began to crash social events. Her pedestrian mannerisms were a challenge to overcome at first, but the intelligent Yu quickly mastered the part of the Nautolan elite. Her natural charm and beauty served her well. Yu charmed a wealthy aristocrat into asking for her hand in marriage. Yu was living the high life. While she enjoyed the plush lifestyle, Yu was still that street scoundrel inside. She used her husband's wealth and affluence to learn rather unusual skills for a noblewoman. Martial arts, piloting and sports shooting. No one questioned the quirky habits of the wealthy socialite. An abundance of money excused a lot of strange behaviors. But Yu never meant to stay a doting, spoiled wife.
When she had had her fill of playing the rich spouse, Yu embezzled an outrageous amount of money from her husband's accounts and disappeared one night, never to return. With her fat load of credits and a handful of new skills, the streetwise noblewoman set out to create the life she wanted.
Yu bought herself an armed ship and dug up some old childhood friends from the streets who had made a name for themselves in the criminal world. Recruiting a crew was not difficult when you paid so well, and Yu started a career pirating. Over the years, she had forged a name for herself, moving to larger ships and other endeavors. High end fence, mobile smuggling hub, and hosting a neutral meeting spot for the galaxy's underworld had carved a niche for Yu in the criminal machinations of multiple systems.

Killing Is An Art: Yu is deadly with her weapons, a crack shot and an elegant melee fighter, agile and quick.

Yu is at her heart a scoundrel. Her motivation is the gain of wealth, power and prestige. To get that, laws are bent or broken. While admittedly a criminal and often 'outside of the law', Yu holds herself out as noble, and possesses a sort of 'rogue's code' as a moral compass. Killing is unpleasant but can be necessary.
