Yuuzhan Vong

Just off the top of my head I think I'd say minimal at most. Though to be fair I'd personally say non-existant haven't RP'ed with anyone who's done a Vong. So I'd say if you're planning on it then go nuts but that's probably just me. Btw we should do a thread together at some point.

To answer your other question, because of the Cremlevian War which destroyed most of the Yuuzhan Vong's galaxy and in turn their homeworld they're now unable to become force sensitive. They're therefor force dead.
The end of the Yuuzhan Vong War in Legends implies that those who split from the mainstream Vong and lived on one of the Seed worlds in the current galaxy were capable of regaining their connection to the force, and there were several yuuzhan vong in Legends canon (where they come from) that were force sensitive. The main antagonist behind the Yuuzhan Vong war, even, was force sensitive.

What is the Vong situation on the site?
Also would it be possible for one to be Force Sensitive? Maybe even use the Force with training?

Thanks in advance.
First there was "The Horde" which was an attempt to do a Vong faction. It sprung up roughly where the Kathal Outback is right now. Then that failed and the One Sith popped up. The One Sith initially made VERY heavy use of Vong, but eventually phased that out in favor of an Imperial technology basis/theme.

They are both a race and a culture and can spring up at any time. Zonama Sekot is an unclaimed world where there are, canonically, a large population of Vong that are "learning to be nice" thanks to the guidance of the sentient planet. There are also a large number of canon planets that are still effected by the Vong invasion and terraforming from the past. And if you look through the Planet Codex, you should be able to find plenty of planets that predominantly serve as homes for Vong.

In regards to the Vong Force User thing... It can... technically be done, but has to be done very carefully in order to make sense. There are canonical grounds for it, but you'll quickly be reported if you try to make a character that goes full-on "every bit as powerful as everyone else, but also immune to the force." That wont fly here. 90% of the time, your best bet is to simply pick Force Dead or Force User and not try to mix the two.

Hoooowever... there is an alternative school of thought in regard to the Vong. The alternative school of thought is that they, because they come from another galaxy, either do not possess the mitochondria that are responsible for the Force, or that they have a different, though similar source of "the force" that operates on a different "frequency" than everyone/thing else in the galaxy. The theory in that regard, is that with training and effort a character could, theoretically learn to modulate their "force" senses and effects to switch between effecting normal people, creatures, and objects... and effecting Vong Separately.

Granted, that would be a fairly master-level ability and runs the risk of generating a high degree of OOC salt if not done correctly or if abused. If you were absolutely determined to try and go this route, I would suggest an unaffiliated "Monk" that was born and raised on Zonama Sekot and taught to "do no harm", protect the weak, and heal the sick. And simply avoid offensive abilities at all costs to avoid drama.

Last person that really tried the Vong FU approach was Illie, and there was much salt from those that had to deal with it.

So... yeah. It can be done, but it's best if avoided.

Cool, that I did not know. You learn something new every day. :)

Yes there have been several force sensitive Vong in Canon. These Vong are pretty challenging to face sense they can dish out the force but cant be affected by it at the same time. One example of one was a Vong that decided to get a Yammosk brain slice formed to his own brain giving him force sensitivity.

As someone who has RPed a Force Sensitive Gen'dai for couple years I say go ahead and shoot for the stars. Make a Force sensitive Vong. You will adjust to the flow. Be very open to others in PvP situations and focus on a story. FOrce sensitive Vong are seen as a Taboo in their culture so their a good footing to try new things.
