Hello Chaos! I have found my way to this site a bit ago and am amazed by its various creative possibilities and by the idea of an included map game! Its glorious and a perfect place to try my idea and hope to catch some folks' interest. Star Wars: The Old Republic did not only bring us amazing cinematics, part of that was also the Eternal Empire of Zakuul. I love it. I adore the aesthetics and the idea of an actual meaningful third party to the Jedi and Sith, even though it was short lived and only there to be PvE-massacared. But I still fell in love with those space-greeks and here I want to try to get a small (or big?) faction with them going and around their looks, mindset and uniqueness. Of course expanding on some things and adding flair here and there for diversity and fun. |
T H E _ I D E A
The Knights are Force Users who are dedicated to serving justice and order, they are somewhere between Lawful Neutral and Lawful Evil, depending on who you are asking. Both dedicated to military and law enforcement, so they are both soldiers and police-men in their fiefs. They are dedicated to neither serve the Dark nor the Light side of the Force and keep to worldly order and justice over philosophy, attempting to see the Galaxy black and white. While they are extremely efficient and dedicated, collateral damage or victims can happen. Some like it. Some don´t.
With varying justice serving organisations, with various interests of different "minor" ideologies, with a feudal system, with droid armies, a droid fleet (you can have own ships, no worries fleeters) and a lot of awesome looks and aesthetics, there is plenty of fun, engaging and lasting stories assured.

Knights are the rank & file, typically armed with lightsaber pike and spear, blue lightsaber crystals and golden armor. Very hoplite like. Variations in armor and weapons are known, personal heraldry as well as the house heraldry are wished for!
Exarchs are all above and a lot more. They are cybernetically improved to be superdudes, supersoldiers and heads of Knight Houses. Creating an own Knight House is the key feature here (not demanded to play one!). Go wild and create a unique feudal household and we can play Arthur and the Round Table or do some Game of Thrones. You can embrace the feudal-political struggle part or can neglect it for the greater good, govern your province, become elected Praetor, have fun! There is a lot Knightly inspiration to be taken in. And we will definitely find a way to get you a cool Coat of Arms
Specialised Knights, one for military SpecOps stuff, the other basically the Jedi Consular. You can be very creative here as well. Horizon Guard are uncompromising Seals/Delta/SAS dudes with dark armor and the idea to do anything for duty. Scions are more philosophical and focused on the Force and mastering its neutral aspect. No others. Right? Maybe
One thing stands out, the guys in white. The Honor Guard is a superior, independent Knight group which are the best fighters, Force users and utterly devoted to the greater goods of justice and prosperity. Nobody except for an High Justice may command them. They are guardians of the ideology and doctrine, they are keepers of the ancient Holocron of Zakuul. And they are the ones who name the Lord Inquisitors as well as approve new members.
Commandos are well drilled forces under the control of the Praetors. They are the small core of non-droids and non-Force sensitives who make up the standing army of the state. Usually highly specialised, they can fulfilll a variety of roles and are trained to work along Knights and Skytroopers alike. Pretty standard stormtroopers/SOC guys.
The second security and law enforcing organization, independently led, but locally supervised by the Knights in their respective provinces. They are security forces, controllers, administrators, spies, infiltrators and assassins. A very wide spectrum of specialisations. It is the most versatile of the institutions, but also the least independent and single standing.
Guards at Arms are the permitted troops each Knight House may recruit and equip as they deem it necessary and can afford it. Though the preference dictates that melee is the queen of arms and therefore these guards are often equipped with melee weapons. You can go wild here, create own troops, throw-away levies or hardened guardsmen. Up to you.
The Inquisition - I want to have one. I love the ring in the ear of the word inquisition. They are an organisation, as teased, only answering to the High Justice and Honor Guard, they are the third law enforcing organisation and they are ... anyone! BOOO! No, seriously, the Inquisition recruits from Knights, Commandos, Overwatch, Guards alike to gain its members or agents. Actual inquisitors will overrule Knights and Overwatch in local affairs and they are meant to have the entire picture of the Greater Good in mind. No worries about sacrificing some civilians. You serve justice
