GENERAL INFORMATION
Zal is noted for being cautious in the field. Even with the guarantee of numbers behind him, a past in criminal life has taught him that not every situation is as black and white as the statistics paint.
His favored apparel being the standard issue gear issued to those that received more focused training to be placed into leadership roles. His favored weapon being the standard issue assault rifle in place of any specialized weapons.

HISTORY
Born on Atoa to parents in harder times, Zal was keen to get off the planet and make something of himself. An education that attempted to keep him in the theocratic fold that only served to push his desire to explore the galaxy outside of his home over the edge of want into a dire need. Purchasing a ticket finally when he had felt he had weathered enough rhetoric of needing to remain loyal to the homeworld and its people. To serve a higher cause and give of himself before seeking his own wishes. All of it pushed him to leave and never return without the need to do so.
Seeking opportunities elsewhere, he served for a time under a cargo captain as a deckhand. Loading and unloading cargo before the raiding party put him out of a job and firmly slotted him into a new one when his captors offered him a spot on their crew.
Turning from a life of honest labor to a life of dishonest and sometimes cruel intentions. All was going well until his crew decided to attempt a raid on a PGEM line, ending with half the raiding party being spaced and the other half serving time. It wasn't long however after their incarceration that he was approached with a deal. His sentence and record were wiped clean in exchange for putting his experiences and services to use for the company he had attempted to raid. Seeing a better opportunity than wasting his time rotting in a jail cell, he was conscripted and put into service with alarming speed.

APPEARANCE
It is rare to find Zal outside of his armor, as he lives and breathes Priddy General Security Contract work. A man with squared shoulders of decent height despite being rather unimpressive in any other way.
When he is outside of his armor, his features are not at all surprising for someone in the position of a soldier. Prior experiences with a life of crime have taught him the value of protecting his face and body at all times with the unexpected or even unprecedented happening at any time.

PERSONALITY
Your run-of-the-mill grunt prior to being pushed through training and receiving the rank of Staff Sergeant for displaying a willingness to step up in the face of apathy. Zal is by no means extraordinary but his key traits are demonstrating a willingness to complete the mission with as few lives lost as possible.
While he does not adhere to his planet's theocratic views, he can still be heard muttering a prayer every so often when decisions of great import are being deliberated. He seeks the input of his fellows actively and keeps his head on a swivel for potential issues headed their way.STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Cautious: Given command of others lives has prompted him to remain wary of every action that requires thought.
Physical Ability: Being Atoan, Zal can outdo a run of the mill soldier in terms of physical ability and this is before his training comes into play.
Puncture Wounds: As an Atoan, the biggest concern for him is the possibility of bleeding out due to a deep cut or other similar injury, as the biological matter of a decentralized circulatory system brings the danger of quickly losing blood.
Cautious: Despite having some advanced training, Zal remains a cautious leader and this can cost him the edge in combat if the odds seem stacked against an idea.
