- | Heat Resistance | Zaradium boasts an impressive resistance to heat, being able to maintain contact with a lightsaber for a fair bit of time before melting from extended contact, making it quite useful for using against such weapons. It is also able to retain nearly as much heat as a lightsaber and maintain solid rigidity in whatever it is forged into.
- | Hefty | Despite being a metal designed for use in melee weapons, Zaradium boasts a rather hefty weight to it, making weapons forged from it rather heavy in comparison to their standard vibroblade counterparts. This can take some getting used to for people who use weapons classed as daggers or swords though weapons such as hammers or maces probably will not notice much of a difference other than the impact of the weapon inflicts.
DESCRIPTION
Zaradium is a synthesized metal that boasts an unusually high resistance to heat, capable of withstanding high temperatures that would traditionally slag or begin to deform other metal alloys of similar density and weight. As a result of this, the most effective means in which it could be utilized was for the fabrication of melee weapons, being deemed to be a tad too dense for usage in armor. The size of melee weapons make it ideal for its weight, giving a weapon more than enough heft to dish out damage in bladed or blunt forms.
Zaradium has proven to be quite an effective counter to lightsabers due to its high heat tolerance allowing for the alloy to remain in contact with a lightsaber long enough to not be rendered useless after one swing through a number of extensive tests in order to see its limits. While extended and continuous contact with a lightsaber or heat sources of similar degree to one can eventually melt Zaradium, no such scenario would ever arise in a fast-paced combat scenario.
