Zandar Jorbet is a Corellian actor, singer, producer, and entrepreneur best known by his stage name
Zardu Hasselfrau. Emerging out of soap operas in the late 820s, he became a cultural icon and symbol of masculinity associated with 830s action holo-vids before having breakout success as a singer across the Corporate Sector.
Early Life & Career
Originally hailing from Coronet City, Zander was active in various academic and athletic programs through his youth, noted by his school classmates as having been captain of the debate team, captain of the grav-ball team, a choir soloist, and leading roles in several plays. He studied at the
Selonian School of the Arts before moving to Coruscant in pursuit of work. He later graduated with a degree in theater.
The same year, he was cast as Dr. Snapper Forster on the holo-drama
The Young and the Mandalorian, a role that he continued to portray until 819 ABY. He was recruited by a production studio for the lead role of Marcel Knight in the action holo-vid series
Knight Speeder, which ran until 823 ABY.
Musical Success & Beachwatch
He was able to launch a music career through collaborations with different holo-vids of the era, achieving critical acclaim in the Corporate Sector with his album
Looking for Fiefdom, which was certified triple platinum.
In 829, he agreed to a pilot holo-vid titled
Beachwatch, adopting the role of Butch Muchanon, a single parent raising a son while making a living as a lifeguard in the City of Talay. Although
Beachwatch was cancelled by the production studio after only a single season, Zander believed that the show had potential. Investing his own money, Zander bought back the rights to
Beachwatch and assumed the role of the show's executive producer. In its second iteration,
Beachwatch experienced galactic-wide success -- running for 11 years, with billions of viewers across more than 140 planets, solidifying Zander's status among the galaxy's foremost holo-vid personalities of the era.
Later Career
After
Beachwatch aired its final episode in 840 ABY, Zander returned to theater with a role in a musical production. He has appeared in several holo-vids and series in self-parodic appearances that make light of his iconic roles and masculinity. In 846, Zander became a host on the reality holo-vid show,
Alderaan's Got Talent. An icon of HoloNet meme culture, Zander continues to remain relevant through syndicated re-broadcast of
Knight Speeder and
Beachwatch. That not withstanding, a embarrassing holo-vid of a drunken Zander eating a cheeseburger surfaced on the Holo-Net and revealed the actor's struggles with alcohol.
In 856 ABY, Zander announced his first solo tour in over a decade as part of a promotion for a new studio album. Dubbed the Core Worlds Tour, Zander prepares to return to the galaxy that has never forgotten him.
